Alice stumbled up the stairs to an old building, and practically fell onto a step. The place was one of those typically dodge looking buildings with boarded up windows and half the roof missing. It was a little strange that Alice seemed to fit in with the decaying place. Her head spun at the sudden movement and some passing eyes frowned at her as they continued along to the many clubs and bars that littered the street. Bad dates always sucked, but she never thought it would come to actually running away from one. She wiped the grit from the decaying stairs on her skinnies and suddenly became relieved that she hadn’t tried too hard to dress up. The old, yet incredibly comfy, band shirt supporting The Smiths in large white letters was evidence of a rushed attempt to dress. What Alice needed now was a quick and easy way to save her Saturday night. Brown eyes scanned the street for any kind of stupid behaviour that would serve as entertainment.

This was one of those times when Hikki really needed to take a walk. The reasons ranged anywhere between Setsuna and Eliza aruguing, to just feeling alone.
So there she was, her iPod in her pocket, and an unlit cigarette in her mouth. She pulled a lighter from her pocket and flicked it a few times in attempt to light the cigarette. Fail.
"Stupid thing...work..." she said quietly. She shook the lighter a few times, and tried to make it work. Nothing. She threw the lighter to the ground with a slight frown, but she didn't take the cigarette from her mouth.
"Dammit," she said, once again quietly, before she resumed walking again.

It was times like these she wished she knew more people than she did. The few people she could think of calling to come save her were all on their own dates, or else partying, or were just not the kind of people that would want to. Taking a long breath she continued to watch the street

Alice's eye fell on a girl struggling with her lighter about a meter or two away from where she sat. A slow grin crept across her face as the girl threw the lighter at the ground. Was it so bad to laugh at others misfourtunes? "Hey... Need a light?"Alice asked pulling her old, but oh so reliable lighter from the back pocket of her jeans and offering it to the girl.

Turning to see who was talking to her, Hikki saw a girl with a lighter in her hand. She allowed herself a slight smile, smoking was probably her worst addiction. And she couldn't get enough of it.
"Yeah," she said as she walked towards the girl. "You're pretty much my savior now."
Taking the lighter from her, Hikaru lit her cigarette and took a drag. After exhaling, she handed the lighter back to the chick. "Thanks."
She paused for a moment to look at the girl. This girl was cute, she looked like she was around Hikki's age.
With a shrug, Hikki then added, "I'm Hikaru. Or Hikki," before taking another drag from her cigarette. "Want a smoke? If you do smoke, I mean." She held the pack out in the girl's direction.

A smile flickered on Alice's lips in return. "Thats fine, I know the feeling." She couldn't help but to contemplate asking the girl for a drag. It had been so long since that toxic smoke had filled her lungs. Then again, this chick didn't look in a particularly good mood.

"Hikki hey..." She grinned, cute name. "Nice to meet you, I'm Alice." At the offer Alice released a breath that she hadn't even realised she was holding. "Uh yeah actually that would be great." The smell of Hikki's cigarette was making her gut tighten with anticipation.

With a nod, Hikaru took a cigarette out of the pack and handed it to Alice. "Alright. Here's one," she said as she handed the cigarette to her.
She paused for a moment to look around at their surroundings. It probably wasn't the nicest looking place that she had seen since she lived in New York. New York was full of places like this, but she hadn't seen one in California yet.
"So, why're you out here this late?" Hikki inquired as she looked back to Alice.
Hikki had found this place by accident. She wasn't expecting to find somewhere so run down, but at the same time, it didn't bother her much.

"Yeah thanks" Alice streched out a hand to take the cigarette. With a swift practised movement she lit it and took a drag. Running a hand through her hair she followed Hikki's gaze up to the building. It seemed oddly out of place in this clean and populated street, but hey, every place has its Boo Radleys.

"Ah, well, I am escaping a really bad date. What about yourself?" She asked absentmindedly, completely forgetting that Hikki had seem so angry earlier.

Hikaru Amuro - August 26, 2007 04:30 AM (GMT)
"Just depressed, that's all. Yet another battle between my so called parents," she said quickly. "Actually, I didn't even know this building existed. I was just wandering aimlessly trying to forget about Setsuna, and Eliza, and their stupid problems."
She took a drag from her cigarette and looked at the ground for a moment. "It just really sucks," she added after a moment of silence.
Looking up at Alice again, she shook her head, allowing herself to smile. "Bad date, eh? Guy try to get into your pants?"
Hikki only assumed that because every guy that she had been with thus far had done the same thing. Pretty recently, she decided that she'd give up on guys all together.
"Don't worry, they're all like that when it comes to relationship stuff," she said with a slight smile.
