Dillion sees nothing else to do so he walks down to the baseball field and next to the batting cage, he sets up the pitchers screen and he grabs a bucket of balls and works on his 4-seam fastball that lost his last school the state-championship by giving a power-hitter a pitch right down the middle and having him crush that ball out of the park. Although he is still kinda depressed about that one pitch, he knows he needs to grow on that mistake and perfect his 4-seam fastball as well as all of his other pitches

he keeps throwing, he has been out here for at least 2 or 3 hours, and his arm is starting to get really tired, but its what he needs, he needs to get that arm stronger, because a strong arm means more strikes and less balls pitched

Lindsay walked out towards the bullpen she felt she needed some practice with her pitching,especially with the fast pitch. She looked around,seeing Dillon already there she said trying not to interupt his train of thought while practicing. "I'm not going to bother you if I practice am I?"she asked

"No, theres enough room in here I think," Dillon replys with a laugh, "as long as you dont throw all crazy and hit me or somthing." he finished with a laugh.

Lindsay laughed and shook her head. "Well its just softball pitch,it shouldn't be to crazy" she said "So I haven't hit anyone.....Yet." she said "At least not since little league when I did play baseball.."

Dillon begins to laugh, "I only it one person last season," he said thinking about the time when he hit the guy that played for L.A. Central High School and broke his arm and he lets out a small laugh.

"That isn't to bad than" Lindsay said with a slight laugh.."You must be able to control your pitches quite well" she replied "I'm Lindsay" she said finally introducing yourself.

"I can kinda control my pitches," he replied with a laugh, "and I'm Dillon, it's a pleasure to meet you Lindsay." he says as he throws his first 4-seam fastball since the state championship game last year, the pitch that lost this school last years state championship, and the totally misses the pitchers screen and he takes a deep sigh and sits down.

"Its a pleasure to meet you too,Dillon" Lindsay said with a smile,then watched as he threw his pitch,she could only wish she could pitch like that. After he sat down stretched her arm then did her wind up and pitched hitting the pitch target just low. she shook her head..she knew she should have gotten that.

Dillon gets up and grabs another ball and tries the 4-seam fastball again, hitting the ball right in the cross of the X in the "strike zone" that was taped on the pitchers net.

Lindsay watched from her spot,as he tried the pitch once again "Wow..that was amazing.." she said. "When you did that pitch it looked as if it was easy" She placed her fingers in a way that she knew that would throw a curve and wound her arm and hitting the target.

"Oh, trust me, it wasn't easy," Dillon answered, "you saw my first attempt, I didnt even hit the net." he finished with a slight laugh, he picked up another ball, this time throwing a 2-seam fastball, his specialty, and easily hitting the middle of the target, "Now that," he started, "was easy."

Lindsay watched his pitch,"With you as the pitcher of the baseball team..we'll have an awesome team." she said. "I've been working on my curve..I seem to get it close to teh target but it just doesn't feel right" she positions her fingers on the ball and pitches missing the X on the target.

"You'll get it eventually," Dillon said with a smile, "just keep working at it, how do you think I got where I am? luck?" he added.

Lindsay nodded,"I've got a few months I believe to get it right." She said,"I'll just keep working on it." she then threw her curve pitch and hitting the X on the target and grinned.

"Nice pitch," Dillon congradulated her as he threw a curve ball of his own, the ball looked like it was going to miss the screen but it curved and hit right on the X.

"Thanks,I've been working on that pitch since last summer" she said and watched as he threw his own curve ball."Wow..that was nice" she said

"Thanks," Dillon said after she congradulated him, "now, if I could only pitch like that in a game." he finished with a smile as he threw his semi-perfect knuckle ball, the ball appears as if its going to go way over the X but it goes down and hits it again.

Lindsay's eyes widen seeing how wide the knuckle ball went out and then back in over the plate. "I'm sure you'll do just fine,I'll just tell ya what my coach told me last year,when you pitch act as if its a practice rather than a game,that usually helps me relax." She threw her favorite pitch the rise ball and watched as it dropped over the plate then threw her own knuckleball.

"I know thats true," he agreed, "I think last years state-championship game is coming back to haunt me." he says as he thinks about last years game and sighs loudly and looks down at the ground. Thinking about that game made him want to throw a 4-seam fast ball, so he grabs a ball and pitches a 4-seam fastball, totally missing the net.

"This season you'll learn from what you think you did wrong and you'll be better" Lindsay said watching as his pitch missed the net. It made her think about one of her games from the year before,the one that nearly lost the chance for them to go to state.

"Good point." Dillon says after a little while of thinking. When he reaches down to get another ball, he notices that he's all out of balls, "Jeez, I've already pitched a whole bucket?" he mutters barely loud enough for her to hear him, so he runs down to the net and puts all the balls into the bucket forgetting all about the balls that he threw that missed the net.

Lindsay leaned to grab another ball from her own bucket,she needed to work on her curve and change up,she waited till Dillon was out of the way

He finishes putting all the balls in his bucket and he carries the balls up to the mound where he was pitching, and he starts to do his wind up, but slips and falls, he gets up laughing, "oops." he said with a big smile and laughing.

Lindsay was half way through her own wind up when she saw him slip and fall and laughed,she released the pitch totaly missing the net as it landed near his. She walked over to his mound helping him up,"You ok?" she asked offering her hand

"Yeah, I'm fine," Dillon replied still laughing, he starts to pitch again, but stops halfway through his wind-up because he cant stop laughing.

Lindsay shook her head laughing realising she will not be able to pitch till she stopped laughing."I sorta missed my target" pointing to where her last pitch landed just below his target.

"Uuhh....yeah you did!" Dillon replied in a teasing voice, but he was only joking. He finally stops laughing and he pitches a perfect 2-seam fastball right on the cross-hairs.

Lindsay finally contained her composure and stopped laughing,grabbed another ball from her bucket,"Lets see if I can get this one right" she said as she threw a curve ball over the corner of the plate as hit it the target. "THere I did it this time" she said.

"Good job, I'm proud," he said in a teasing tone of voice, then he threw another prefect curveball, looking like it's gunna miss the net but it goes right over the middle of the plate.

Lindsay watched,"Good job.." she said with a smirk. "You know I don't think anyone be able to hit your pitches" she teased. She looked down and saw her bucket was empty.
