The ball was a classical soccer ball; it was white with black pentagons. Or black with white pentagons. Something like that. It was the standard size high school balls usually ar. Decked out in a pair of long shorts made of swishy jogging material and a hooded sweatshirt, plus his sneakers, he messed around with the ball. He rolled it between his feet, stepped on it to pop it up, and tried to get it just right so he could bump it up with his knee and then hit it with his stomach or chest into the goal. He'd gotten it once, but these days he was finding it very difficult to do. It took concentration and a lot of practice to get really good at ball tricks.

He bounced up and down on the heels of his feet, trying to get himself psyched up for the next trick. He'd seen it down by all those famous college soccer stars and guys on the English teams. A step on the ball, faking a pass, and then kicking it behind him to pass it to another player. It was hard to do with somebody, let alone by yourself. It gave you good exercise, though, to go and get the ball each time.

He took a break and went over to his bag where he grabbed a huge bottle of water and poured it down his throat. He'd been out here for almost an hour now, and was really working up a sweat. He needed to get in shape now if he was ever going to be in good enough shape next fall to make the team. That was always the tricky thing with switching schools: Making it onto their soccer team. It probably wouldn't matter to some people, but to Kyler it was his only ensurance in life. It was the only thing he knew would be there tomorrow. And that was only if he worked. Hard.

[ahh you're so good. haha. let me just go ahead and excuse myself the crap that is to follow]

Evie found herself skipping class yet again. She tended to do this more and more often as the days wore on. She'd only been at this school for about two o rthree weeks and had only attended about nine full days of school. It was a normal routine for her; start at a new school, slack off as much as you can until your limit is up, then just barely pass to the next grade. She'd been doing it since the seventh grade so by now she was a pro at it.

She made her way up to the bleachers in front of the soccer field, a common spot for her to skip class at. As soon as she sat down and was about to lay down for a nap, she noticed a boy of around her age, kicking around a soccer ball. He was good. Sports weren't something to usually hold Evie's attention, but for some reason she couldn't keep her eyes off of this guy.

[Psh. Crap? It was lovely. :)]

Kyler capped his water bottle. He'd already drank most of it, and wanted to be out here for at least another half hour. He put the bottle back in it's bag and set the bag back down. Then, dribbling the ball between his feet as he went, he went back out to the goal and started doing some dribbling exercises he'd been taught at an up-scale soccer camp he'd once attended. He pretended there were some cones placed infront of him, and he dribbled the ball through them. It was a standard practice that a lot of coaches did. Just something to practice agility and change in direction. When he was bored with that he practiced making shots, even though there was absolutely nobody to gaurd the net. After that, he let his ball sit in the middle of the feild and got another long drink quickly. He ran back to his ball and went at practicing those tricks again. While this was all going on, he had no idea that he was being watched from the bleachers. If he had known, he probably would have showed off a little bit more.

[you really are too kind. : ) its nothing compared to yours, though]

Evie watched him, mezmorized, as he dribbled the ball up and down the field. When she was younger she had played soccer on a little rec team near her old house. She must have been about four or five. That fantasy lasted all of about three weeks. Then she broke her leg, making it kind of hard to do anything involving running. She snapped out of her daydream and focussed on him again. She watched his feet as they traveled down the field, coming in contact with the ball as they moved along.

[Heh, thanks. <33]

Ky stopped and wiped some sweat from his forehead with his hand, then the rest of his face with his sweatshirt. He wasn't dripping sweat, but he was very sweaty. He could've used a very cold shower then. His breathing was heavy and his heart was pounding as he made his way over to his gym bag. He pulled out that water bottle. Finishing it in just a few swallows, he then grabbed up his stuff, shoved the ball in his bag, and then started for the edge of the feild. It was then that he noticed somebody sitting on the bleachers. She was a brunette, he could tell from the distance, and had nice features. He didn't hesitate to wave, and a small smile cracked onto his lips. He climbed the bleachers and perched his dirty, sweaty self on the seat a few feet away from her. "Hey. 'Sup?"

Evie Holland. - April 14, 2006 03:56 AM (GMT)
The boy finished up and gathered his things. Evie didn't expect him to stop and come over to her, but he did. As he came nearer, she noticed that he was very attractive.

He walked over to the bleachers, where she had been staring at him from, and sat down. "Nothin" came her reply. She looked him up and down. He had a fairly atheletic physique under those dirty, and somewhat sweaty clothes. She didn't mind the sweat though. It was sort of sexy.

"So, how long have you been playing? You're really good." she said, changing the subject to soccer.

Kyler Burne - April 15, 2006 12:34 AM (GMT)
Kyler laughed. "Aw, I'm okay...I've been playing for a long time. Most of my life...Since I was a kid. But...If you think I'm good...I'm nothing compared to some other people..." He shrugged, longing for another liter of water. "I'm Kyler, by the way," he said, holding out his hand to shake. "What's your name?"

Evie Holland. - April 15, 2006 08:15 PM (GMT)
"Kyler.." Evie repeated softly, liking the way it sounded. She shook his hand. "I'm Evie." She smiled a little at him.

Kyler Burne - April 17, 2006 03:58 AM (GMT)
Ky smiled back. "Evie," he repeated her name too. "That's pretty. So what are you here for? Watching a soccer addict make a fool out of himself while he's trying to learn tricks?" He asked, absentmindedly running his hand over the line of hair at the top of his head. It had become a habit since he got the hawk the night after he arrived. He felt it looked good, but it was a little weird having most of your hair missing.

[sorry I've been gone for so long! i had cheerleading tryouts this week]

Evie's smile turned into a bit of a smirk. "Oh well, not exactly. Just got bored of school so I decided to skip. Again." She laughed softly. "And I was planning on taking a nap in the bleachers, but you kind of caught my attention."

Kyler Burne - April 25, 2006 03:10 AM (GMT)
[It's okay. How'd that go?]

Kyler passed her a smile that was genuine attention-loving. "You skip school a lot? To take naps on bleechers?" He asked. But what he was really wondering was just how much of her attention did he catch and why? Ky liked being the center of attention. Anybody who knew him well knew this. He just sat there and smiled.

[i made varsity. :) ]

Evie laughed a little. "Only on Thursdays" she laughed. "And to watch cute guys play soccer" Evie grinned and shrugged a little, playing it off as a joke.

Kyler Burne - May 22, 2006 10:44 PM (GMT)
[Awesome. So so soooo sorry that I've been neglecting him for so long...I got grounded from the computer and other things came up.]

Kyler laughed. "That's funny. Cute girls watching cute boys play soccer," he said with a smile. "Well, at least try to play soccer." He looked out at the feild. His elbows were resting on his knees as he serveyed the now empty feild. He wasn't lying when he had mentioned she was cute. She was very cute.
