Qtown Abuzz With OzzyBy Will Hine 26 March 2008

Heavy rocker Ozzy Osbourne and wife Sharon left holiday-makers with mouths gaping as they strolled down Queenstown's Shotover Street on a shopping expedition yesterday. Ozzy is holidaying in the resort after playing at the Rock2Wellington gig during the Easter weekend with heavy metal acts that included Lordi, Kiss, Poison and Alice Cooper.
Minders kept The Southland Times from talking to Ozzy and Sharon. However, the pair were happy to mix with other shoppers as they wandered round the town. Three young women from Ireland who were holidaying in Queenstown bumped into the famous couple in a pharmacy.
"We saw Sharon first, she was so nice," Justine Miley said. After posing for a photo with Sharon, the group saw Ozzy too, Lisa Quigley said. "We saw him and asked him and he was really nice and said for everyone to get in (the photo)." The trio said they were used to meeting celebrities in Ireland, including Bono and Tiger Woods, but said the Osbournes were some of the best they had met.
Ozzy and Sharon are not the first Osbournes to set foot in Queenstown; son Jack visited the town in 2006 and 2007 to film episodes of his television show Adrenaline Junkie.
