Title: Racing Points / Yardstick

Hi,

does anybody know something about racing points (ORC, IMS, IRC) or Yardstick of any Evolution Yachts?

I have some club Portsmouth yardstick numbers for the 22, 26 & 30, but they are all a bit subjective as none of them are based upon more than a single boat in a mixed fleet, and therefore take no account of modification or crew skill levels.
They should however give you an idea of a starting point if a club has asked you for a PY.
I have not heard of any evolutions racing under other yardsticks with the exception of those on the south coast for which i came accross results for the round the IOW race, I think they are all 25/26's. (i cannot remember what scheme those results were but they were not PY probably IRC)

Hi I did not put them on with previous post as I did not have them to hand but here they are now.

Evolution 22 = 1048
Evolution 25 = 1030
Evolution 26 = 1042 (Masthead Rig)
Evolution 30 = 999

As per previous post these are PY numbers used by a couple of local clubs, and largly based upon the YR2 calculation method.

The 25 & 26 are the most common and therefore the most commonly raced but many differant configerations are available. At least 3 differant rigs for the 26 alone. And engine wise some have inboards, some outboards in a well, and some transom mounted.
I have seen at various times/places numbers for the 25/26 quoted at anything from 1022 to 1052

I would welcome any other PY numbers used by clubs eleswhere to increase accuracy further.

which which formula can i compute the computed time. i onlx know this one:

computed time= (sailed time*100)/(Yardstick)

i thought about the comparing both systems of PY and YS(German). I compared round about 20 classes and now am on the result that 1 German YS-Point is round about 9,5 PY-Points.

sorry for my bad english ;)

so:

ev 22 : 110
ev 25 : 108
ev 26 : 109
ev 30 : 105

think the evolution 24 must have an ys between 25 and 22 i think like ev 26 : 109 and 1035 PY
