Details of use: I have owned Calypso Lady for 20 years. She winters undercover at my home in Northamptonshire and gets towed down to Suffolk behind a four by four on bespoke 4 wheel trailer.
Excellent sailing performance giving other larger club sailers a good run for their money and hard to catch down wind with the spinaker up. A number of North Sea and channel crossing to her name.
The results under engine power have been fine 6 knots in smooth water, excellent economy.
She is fitted with the 30ft mast head rig, which delays reefing which we feel is a bonus. Spinaker, No 1, & 2 Genoa, Storm
Cruised to Holland where the ability to lock the keel half up, giving approx 3ft (1m) draft was helpful avoilding shoal water problems
Modifications
Additional fold down chart table added by the keel box has been of great benefit, giving extra work surface but folding away when the bunk is required for seating or sleeping.
Aluminium aerofoil pivoting rudder, with substantial pintols
Keel clamping rods originally aluminium have been replaced with galvanised mild steel to avoid galvanic currents being set up with the keel
Draining gas locker sufficient for two calor bottles in the starboard cockpit locker
Step through pullpit and push pit by Cooney
Hood twin luff furling system
Sprayhood
