Title: UV Protection

Jolly Roger - April 13, 2009 06:21 PM (GMT)
I intend to use a genoa on my roller reefing that does not have a UV strip.
Is anyone aware if a product has been invented that can be painted or sprayed on a sail, to give it some protection from UV rays?

I used to use a laminated headsail on a furlex gear with no UV strip on Temptaion and used a zip and lace up sock that pulled up using the spinnaker halyard and protected the sail when not in use. My sock was made by Kemp sails but any sailmaker should be able to make one. Hope this helps

Thanks for that Colin. I have made a spinaker sock in the past (see my post here - http://z10.invisionfree.com/EvolutionYacht...hp?showtopic=8) so something similar should do the job.
