what would everybody think if we had a competion board

What do you mean with COMPETION BOARD?

We could have competions for Fan Art or Fan Fiction and have somebody doing a banner or an avatar for the winner that only they can use

It could work, but we'd need more than just writing or fan art, some people (Such as myself) are no good at digital art, and some people are no good at typing up stories.

Nobody here's a Renaissance person, and it's really difficult to judge between, say, a picture and a story as to which one's 'better' (even between story and story sometimes...). While I can see that officially sanctioned competitions could feel exclusivist and cause bad feelings, perhaps some sort of exchange (sign up space, everyone volunteers to produce a fic/artwork/banner/essay/digital alteration by a certain date) could work. Also, if it's a separate 'competitions BOARD', then LightningFlash is not going to have any control over it bar her (extremely valuable) input.

So long as there's no theft from this board to establish the competition one (I'm assuming it will be a seperate board entirely), then I'm not required to be involved at all, especially not for permission purposes. (However, no advertising a connection between the boards without my permission.)
