:)

Yes! I just got home from vacation and checked the DirecTV satellite program guide and it's listed. It also airs on May 23rd on Toon Disney which is my preferred channel since the picture quality is noticeable better than ABC Family. Plus the ABC Family channel squeezes the end credits and runs promos for other shows over them, a practice I detest because it makes the credits illegible.
When this airs, it will have been about six weeks since "Chromatic Dragon" was shown. I hope new episodes are going to air more frequently than that in the future.

*does her little happy dance* yay yay i cant wait! ^^
LightningFlash - May 15, 2005 03:04 AM (GMT)
Lucky you. :)
It's more than possible that the DVD will come out down here before the episodes start airing again.
Does anyone know the release date for the DVD?
The Furox - May 15, 2005 07:35 AM (GMT)
The date hasn't been announced yet as far as I know. The May newsletter from FUNimation mentioned Dragon Booster for the first time. Nothing about the DVDs though. Just the usual one paragraph blurb about the premise of the show, some info about the trading card game and a note about when the show airs in the US. Basically, they're starting to prime their customer base to generate interest. I'm guessing a North America release around the September time frame for the season 1 episodes. I'm afraid I don't know how FUNimation stages their international releases though.

Ah well. You kinda get used to waiting for America to share after a while. :P
*Grumble*

there's 2 missing episodes on the guide that already have been aired on CBC:
The Chromatic Dragon The Rules of Power
|
"The Rules of Power" is new to me.
The poster is Canadian, if that makes any difference?
The Furox - May 18, 2005 06:39 AM (GMT)
I've noticed that, too. From what I've read, all new episodes appear to air on CBC in Canada first and then show in the US a few weeks later. CBC is listed prominently in the end credits along with the "Canadian Film or Video Production Tax Credit" (probably why Nerd Corps chose Vancouver for their location), so I guess the CBC gets the privilege of showing new episodes first for their participation. The good news for me is that since "Rules of Power" has already aired on CBC, I shouldn't have to wait too long to see it myself though it's at least two weeks out since it's not in the satellite program guide yet (I guessing it will show 3 weeks or so after "If It Ain't Broke"). I was a bit worried there'd be a big gap between seasons, but it now looks like they're going to dribble out a new episode every couple of weeks here which is not bad.
While we're on the general subject of DVD availability and such, I thought I mention these merchandise updates in case anyone is interested:
Action figures - not available yet here, should be within the next month though
Nintendo DS Dragon Booster video game - scheduled for US release in the Fall
Novelizations of some of the episodes - scheduled for US release in the Fall
I've heard the video game will be ported to Playstation 2, but I haven't seen any firm announcements yet.
When I see things actually become available in stores, you can bet I'll post an update.

What?
That's . . . actually quite a good thing. Wish they did it for the OF. <_<
The Furox - May 18, 2005 09:11 AM (GMT)
The thing I don't know for sure is what age group the books will be targeted at. They could be easy novels or books with big pictures and few words. Three have been announced plus a fourth "Scrap Book". They're all listed as 96 pages in paperback at the moment with a release date of Sept. 1 and a price of US$4.99. Here are the titles:
Dragon Booster Chapter Book: The Choosing - Book #1
Dragon Booster Chapter Book: Release the Dragon - Book #2
Dragon Booster Chapter Book: Into the Fire - Book #3
The Ultimate Dragon Booster Scrapbook (32 pages)
More information should be available in a few months.

Well, one or two might appear in my local bookstore, but I meant it was good because it should encourage reading. And there seem to be fans of this show that need help in that departmen--I'll shut up now.

In case anyone is interested, "Rules of Power" will air in the US on the ABC Family channel on June 4th. It will presumably also show on Toon Disney on June 6th in the usual time slot (though the program guide hasn't updated that far out yet).
Only two weeks between episodes for a change. That's nice. I hope the schedule continues like this.

I hope the game gets on Playstation 2, as the Nintendo DS is a disadvantage to me. I will keep a close eye on it too.
