Nerd Corps and The Story Hat really outdid themselves on this one. This was such a great episode that I felt I needed to make lots of screen shots. I just uploaded about 350 images to my photobucket account. I covered the whole episode, with heavy emphasis on the dragons of course. ;) About 200 of the images are of Tyrannis Pax and Abandonn. Very good quality screens, Furox! From the pictures of Tyranis Pax, it doesn't even look as if the arms aren't truly connected to the body, if they are part of the body, they'd be easy to rip off and toss over the shoulder. Of course, I can't be sure, I haven't watched it yet.

I have all the episodes sitting on m Tivo box, of course ;), but I didn't have any particular plans at present to do screen shots from more episodes though. It's basically a time thing: I'd rather put the time into writing more content for dragon-city.org for now. I did this episode because I really liked it and I really, really like Tyrannis Pax. :D

I also know our resident artists need reference material for their drawings, so I'm hoping to foster some T. Pax fan art as well. ;)

I've got somewhere around 500 screen shots from other episodes accessible through the Screenshot Page on dragon-city.org in case you haven't seen those before. So I have done captures from more episodes.

Actually, I'm not using anything that anyone else who can afford a computer to start with couldn't get. The first thing to do is to resist the dark side of the force and switch to a Mac. :D My capture device is a Canopus ADVC100 which is one of the better consumer grade capture boxes. It's a good box and works quite well, but it's nothing sophisticated. I bought it used off ebay for $100. It connects to the computer via a firewire cable. Then I use Apple's iMovie application to capture the footage. iMovie is included for free on all Macs, so there's no extra cost there. Any Mac including the $500 Mac Mini can run iMovie, so that's not much different than a low-end Windows machine. I batch process all the images through Photoshop to enhance them afterwards, but all the basic adjustments I make can be done in Gimp which is also free. So in the end, it's a pretty simple setup and all relatively inexpensive consumer grade equipment.

In any event, enjoy the images and I'm hoping to see some Tyrannis Pax fan art in the future. B)

The colors in these screen shots came off a bit on the dark side. I'm going to have to try and find a better way to color correct the screen shots. Either that or upgrade my capture device.

This shot provides a good look at his true colors better than most of the others:



The purple on his chin, shoulders, legs and back of the neck I think is really striking. He's also got some blue markings on his sides which are visible here. Cool dragon!

I just notice something about the colors on Tyrannis Pax.

The deep purple, red, dark blue, and gold... aren't they the colors associated with royalty?

I don't know if they were going for that or not, but the combination sure looks good on him. :) And I love the crest on his head. B)

Hmm...so purple (or black), red, blue, and of course, gold, are all secondary (excluding gold) mag-bone attributes, since according to Rob, a dragon's colors of scales represent its secondary attributes.
