Title: Dragon Booster At Mcdonalds
Description: they're crappy looking but...
Goddesstears - January 28, 2006 05:49 AM (GMT)
Hope I post this in the right place...
Anywho...I saw a commercail tonight while watching Dragon Booster that McDonalds has DB toys in their Happy Meals! If your interested here's their site
http://www.happymeal.com/ss-db/They've got Artha and Beau, Dragon Booster and Beau, Wulph and Hyve, Moordryd and Decepshun, Khatah and Shock-Ra, Reepyr and Propheci, Parmon and Cyrano, Sparkk and Ferno...and I think that's it. No Kitt and Wyldfyr though... <_< oh well.
dRagOniDe - January 28, 2006 05:55 AM (GMT)
Lucky you!!!! In Mexico, the Happy Meal toys are Hello Kitty and Megaman NT warrior..I want DB..T_T I hope that they don't take too long....
Goddesstears - January 28, 2006 06:03 AM (GMT)
Who knows...I'll keep my fingers crossed for ya ^^
The Furox - January 28, 2006 08:01 AM (GMT)
Here's another picture of them I found:

You can also buy the toys off ebay if you don't have a local McDonald's offering them.
The action figures that are supposed to be coming out soon should be a lot nicer than these though.

Yeah, I'm holding out for those. Who needs crappy MacDonalds toys that do simple things like flash or stick their heads out when you can have articulated figures("Specially EvilPsycho!Dragon Booster)?
In Australia, they've got a Chicken Little promo going on right now. Went to Macdonalds today (Holiday treat) and found that out.
The DragonBooster!Beau has foldy 'wings'. That's the only one I feel that deserves any merit.

Aw, they're so cute and chunky! :D
Yeah, I want to get at least some of the action figures, but these guys are so cute and free... almost  . Not to mention they come with food. :D
Do they do anything like roll around?
Brightclaw - January 28, 2006 03:24 PM (GMT)
I hope they come to England! Want Propheci! Oh well maybe when i go to america I might have a Mcdonalds..... *Zookie starts panting*

They all do some trivial little thing. For example, Cyrano's head extends battering ram style and Propheci rolls around with a little wind-up mechanism. Here's a link to a press release about the promotion that Elginman sent me the other day:

Your trip's in March, right? Unfortunately, that means you'll miss the promotion. It ends Feb. 23rd. Bummer, huh. But maybe the promotion will make it's way to other countries afterwards. They seem to do that with at least some of their other toy give-aways.

According to this picture that DragonGeneral posted beofre his demise, yes.

SCALES!! Maybe I'll just get them off ebay. There probably quite cheap. *walks off crying*
Cepheus - January 29, 2006 05:55 PM (GMT)
I got one today. They don't really look like their animated counterparts. I got Wulph and Hyve, and all Wulph looks like is a dude with a lavender shirt/jacket and purple pants. Hyve didn't look exactly like the animated Hyve either, just a mix of purples, but I guess we should expect that, they are coming for free with a little kid's happy meal.
dRagOniDe - January 29, 2006 05:56 PM (GMT)
The Furox - January 29, 2006 06:01 PM (GMT)
Yeah, these little toys are never accurate models, but as you say Cepheus, they're free. So the price is right. ;)

Yep, they're quite easy to get on ebay at the moment. I just bought a set for myself the other day. :D

...dude, I want that...the question, though: is it Wraith Beau? Or another type of Dark Beau?
(Furox, you should post that up on the Action Figures thing. That will definitely attract the eye of many.)
Back to the topic. I wanted Moordryd and Decepshun, but I got Artha and Beau...as Dragon Booster and the dragon of legend. :D All it did, really, was pop out cheap wings that tend to fudge up sometimes. Bleh, it's free anyway. *anticipates dracer action figures*
Cepheus - January 30, 2006 12:28 AM (GMT)
I got Wulph and Hyve and all they do is roll around. They don't even look like Wulph and Hyve! It's just two shades of purple on both of them.

Seems to me like Wraith Beau (like in The Stand). There was also another shot that seemed to have EvilPsycho!Dragon Booster, but it could have been the usual DB with the lighting making it look like EvilPsycho!Dragon Booster.

The only McDonalds toy I still have that I can find is a fish thing from 'Atlantis: The Lost Empire'. All it does is roll around. So, I'm not entirly miserable about missing the promotion. Especially if DB toys appear in Australia.
Wonder if they have Hyve as an action figure?

I don't know. All the photos we've seen have been of the primary characters so far. If the toys sell well, they will most likely add more characters. If not, ...
Let's hope lots of people buy them. I intend to do my part. :D

I saw a Shock-Ra figure in one photo. If Shock-Ra and Khatah got in, doesn't rule out Wulph and Hyve getting in.
(Hyve fans scream hysterically)
Or maybe even Vociferous and Swavy!
(Vociferous fans scream hysterically)
Maybe even Libris!

Cool! Let's hope so. I want Hyve... and Libris... and Propheci... and Fracshun... and Phorrj... and Furox... and... well, you get the idea. B)

What do you expect? Ever since they made two variations of a Happy Meal, Boys and Girls, the Boys never get female representations of any character from whatever the Boy version is.
Serious gender stereotyping here! The Girl version is this Strawberry Shortcake thing. Raise your hand, resident females, if you'd get one of those.
*notices no hands*
Oh, and Sparkk's male. Remember, he was in 'Into The Fire'?
Sarah Frost - January 30, 2006 10:59 AM (GMT)
Missed that one. :P Pyrrah's little brother, right?
And yes, the gender stereotyping IS horrendous. :( *lowers hand, though wouldn't want DB figure either as is really not into plastic toys*
Brightclaw - January 30, 2006 06:43 PM (GMT)
I'm desperatley hoping there going to come to england!! ebay wont work at the moment on my computer. *gets in huff* I want the action figures too, I hope thers going to be a Propheci action figure.

Maybe you could try Amazon? Sometimes random sites don't work for me because of bad connections, so depending on the company you get internet from, it'll work best at different times.

They have no Kitt.
...
I'm sure there's a good reason for such.
*insert immature ranting of gender stereotyping here*
Goddesstears - February 1, 2006 04:23 AM (GMT)
I'd probably get them just as cute little things to put on my shelf. I'd rather they'd hurry up and put the more detail toys out already....and the DVDs. Everytime I got to Target or Wal-Mart I find NOTHING Dragon Booster. *sigh* Do they think that Oklahoman's don't like dragons?
Kay Yasha - February 1, 2006 04:25 AM (GMT)
You might have to check a specialist DVD store. In Sydney it's EzyDVD that stocks everything.
The Furox - February 1, 2006 06:21 AM (GMT)
Yeah, you pretty much have to go online to get DB stuff here. The DVD will be out in one week. For folks in the US, I recommend
Deep Discount DVD. The DVD is only $10.27 with free shipping (I already pre-ordered mine). For the books, go to
Amazon.com. For the action figures, I'll bet there's a good chance those will show up in Walmart and Toys R Us. But I still have no idea when they'll actually be released. :(

Heck, if there isn't one you could break out the modelling clay and transform Wyldfyr. Or make a Propheci sculpture.
I got my DVD in the ABC shop at the Queen Vic Building (You'll know it when you see it-there's a big lady with a stick out the front). It was only about $20.
Unfair! You Americans get the whole hog! All we Aussies get are the first four episodes!

We're only getting the first four episodes on DVD here as well. That is, unless the sales are strong enough for them to decide to put out the rest of the episodes. So everybody go buy the DVD! :D
But you have the advantage of getting the episodes in wide screen. I wish they'd do that here.
The action figures will most likely be available through amazon.com, so anyone who can't find them locally can always order through them since they ship worldwide.
Brightclaw - February 1, 2006 06:08 PM (GMT)
WOO HOO! Worldwide shipping! *does a little dance* :D
The Furox - February 1, 2006 11:47 PM (GMT)
The DB Happy Meal toys I bought off ebay arrived today. I must say they're larger than I expected. The toys I've seen at McDonald's in the past were only about 2-3" whereas these are about 4-5". The most cleverly designed one is the red and blue Beau: it has a magnet in it so that Artha hovers in mid-air above him like he's mag-jumping.
I was pleasantly surprised by these. They're not as junky as I thought they'd be. Considering how inexpensive they are, they make nice little knickknacks for my desk. Can't wait to get hold the action figures. :)

Oooh, advantage. Not much when YOU DON'T HAVE a widescreen telly. :P
We don't even get extras. That's what you lot get. Grah.
AND I CAN'T EVEN ORDER FROM EBAY 'CAUSE I'M 14!
Ah well, I'll wait for the action figures. And if they don't sell them here, I'll set my Salamence on them. >:D

The next Australian promotion is something involving wild animals with stretchy limbs. Not Dragon Booster. Suddenly having a K-Zone subscription isn't that bad...
I guess it isn't as popular here as it is over there.
