Brightclaw - December 20, 2005 07:16 PM (GMT)
Before I knew about dragon booster I was (and still am) obsessed with dragons. Did you people like dragons too? ;)
LightningFlash here, and I'm getting sick of editing your posts. Have you read the Rules?
The Furox - December 20, 2005 11:48 PM (GMT)
I do and I think it's safe to say that most people here liked dragons before they discovered Dragon Booster. Some of us even collect dragon related stuff. Check out this thread on
Dragon Paraphernalia.

Saargebietdragonrider - September 5, 2006 02:54 PM (GMT)
Honestly, I grew to like dragons from American Dragon:Jake Long
Does anybody watch this series?
The Furox - September 5, 2006 08:29 PM (GMT)
I've seen it. I've watched a few episodes and it's OK, though it doesn't really capture my interest that much, but then there aren't that many shows that do.
If you just started liking dragons recently, then be sure to rent the movie "Dragonheart" sometime. It's a classic for dragon fans. The direct video sequel they made is OK too, though it's targeted at a younger audience than the original movie. I think it's worth renting as well.
Skye - September 5, 2006 09:01 PM (GMT)
I used to like dinosaurs in grade 3, wolves/ dogs in grade 4, and grade 5 I made the transition into dragons. It wasn't until grade 6 I started collecting them and now I have a fancy collection of 31 figurines, but in total I have 43 dragon stuff in my room (posters, figurines, paintings, etc.)
I think it's fair to say i'm obsessed with dragons.

Then join the club. Oh, wait! You're here, so you already have. :D
I've got a collection as well, though maybe not as big as yours. I've got all the DB Happy Meal toys, all the DB action figures I could get off amazon.com (about 10), a number of dragon T-shirts and several really nice dragon figurines by artist M. Pena (sold through Windstone Editions). If you haven't seen these then
click here to see one of my favorites. Now if I could just the rest of the DB action figures, then I'll be all set.
Oh, and I've like wolves/dogs for a long time as well.
Armeggadon - September 6, 2006 12:39 AM (GMT)
Dragon were a part of my life before DB!
Keeper of the Black dragon - September 6, 2006 01:48 AM (GMT)
Im crazy about dragons!!! Dragons were always part of my life. You should see some of my scketches. :D :P
But i have a problem with some of the people that live near me. Their the kind of people that are super religous. So i dont have as many friends as i used to because their parents dont want them hanging out with "The dragon girl" I know that sounds like it would be a good nickname, but the lady that said it in the meanest way posible was as if she was going to kill me rite on the spot. ^_^
But that all changed when i presented to the lady a picture that i drew of a dragon with angel wings caring a cross to heaven. its a beautiful pic. Ill try to get it on to my computer(to big to scan).
Do any of you have this Problem?
Mad love for the dragons!!!!!!

Yep i'm familiar with those. I've always wanted one >_>
Naw, I don't have that problem. To be honest i'm not highly religious
at all (no offense to anyone!)... religion is a touchy subject but anyway
I am known as the dragon lady at times but I like it ;). It's too bad
you're sorta discriminated against your love of dragons, and it's certainly
not fair for you.
Well hey, at least you're not alone, I wub dragons too!

Well, I saw the original one at the theatre but I can't really recall it............its sequel was good though, but the original one discussed certain intriguing issues............Thanks for the tip.
Now that I am writing this, I am curious to know if anybody like centaurs.I have been fascinated by these creatures for quite some time.It is always a puzzle to see if their bestial or human instincts will determine their actions. Like Nessus, who was obviously overcomed by his bestial lust for Hercules's wife or the all-wise Chiron who moulded so many heroes.
Nope, no centaur posters, sculptures in my room.............yet (there are so few available)........
Penny Dreadful - September 6, 2006 03:30 PM (GMT)
I like dragons. I'm not obsessed with them. They're really not the reason I got into DB, either. As for the American Dragon...bleh...Jake's diloluge drives me insane.
Cepheus - September 6, 2006 07:47 PM (GMT)
My friend's had problems like that, except it was with her father. Her parents are very religious, and it drives her nuts.
When she was at my house once, we couldn't come up with anything that we could both do at once and agreed on. So I suggested printing out a couple of different templates for us to color. We agreed.
My friend picked red and black for the colors on a dragon, and colored it in. Whenever her parents/father (her mom's not so bad about it) saw it, they forbade her from getting any more templates from me.
But when she started tracing them, and even giving them out to the entire family, who obviously enjoyed them, I guess her father relented some. Now if she colors any of those templates, he tells her that he doesn't like them, regardless of whether her coloring took her a week to do, or just five minutes. Just to have a little fun, I traced one myself and showed it to him. Apparently he wanted to be polite since I'm not from his household, but all I got was "A dragon!", and then a back to my face. :P

A good place to get them is ebay when people sell their collections. I picked up one for only $15. It was "pre-owned" but who cares. :)

I liked the ones they had in the movie "Narnia." They did a great job overlaying a CG horse body on the live actor. It was an excellent effect and the light and shadows were done perfectly. And how often do you get to see photorealistic, sword-wielding centaurs doing battle.
I think my favorite fantasy creatures in that movie were the griffins. All the detail in their fur and feathers and how it all ruffled in the wind when they were flying looked really cool. And besides, you just don't see enough griffins in movies.
And the minotaurs were pretty cool looking as well. :)

Yeah, the show is aimed at a young audience. Though the idea of a character who's essentially a were-dragon of sorts is kind of appealing. ;) If the show had a tone more like Inuyasha say, and aimed for an older audience, then it could really be something.
Penny Dreadful - September 6, 2006 11:37 PM (GMT)
Just because a show is aimed at a young audience, that's no reason to promote the slaughter of syllables. -.- In fact, they should have even more reason to make him speak proper English. I haven't met many children who speak quite like Jake, and those I have met get beaten up on a daily basis...as they should be...Out grammatical demons! Out!

Yeah, I used to watch it until they started re-running the show. But it seems that the second season is now on air in the US. Oh gosh! The art is horrendous! All the characters in the show looked deformed. :eep:
My love for dragons started after watching Dragonheart and it kept on growing from there. I always go online to view dragon art. One particular artist from Deviantart that caught my attention goes with the username "Psycrowe". She draw some sort of dragons called Draekards (aka furry dragons) and for me, it's unique. I mean, ever seen a dragon with furs?
Besides going online, I also watched certain anime series that has dragons in them, such as Dragon Drive and Legendz: Tales of the Dragon King. But since both of them were not available on local TV, I can only watch these series through DVD or at Youtube.
As for books, I only have 2 books related to dragons (as of 2005). One is, of course, Eragon and the other is "The Dragon Hunter's Handbook: A Field Guide to the Paranormal". I would like to recommend the second book to dragon lovers (Don't worry, it has nothing to do with slaying dragons). This little book is really fun to read. It mainly has info about dragon behaviours, where they can be found (it states that Saskatchewan, Canada is one of 12 dragon refuge in the world. Funny... ) and how humans can live with them. Here are 3 things that I found interesting from the book:
1) Dragons have sweet tooth. In other words, they like sweet things. Sounds familiar? :D
2) 1 cup of apple juice + 10 drops Tabasco sauce + 5 drops green food colouring + 1/2 cup vinegar = Dragon knock-out drops (Cool, but it may taste awful... :P )
3) Dragons can be very sensitive. Don't make jokes or sarcastic comments . Sounds familiar again? :D
One book that I would also recommend for everyone in Dragon City too...if that's possible. ^_^
And lastly is my love for the eastern dragon. As I am from oriental background, we respect the eastern dragon as it is part of oriental culture. They are benevolent and friendly and is said to bring good fortune. I think the eastern dragon's the coolest of all... :)
DragonBooster500 - November 8, 2006 04:47 PM (GMT)
I've been a Dragon fan since I was little! I love to draw them and dream about them. I even did a couple of school projects involving them! I'm totally obssessed....
