Title: Beau Card
Description: I have Beau, do you?
Brightclaw - December 19, 2005 05:15 PM (GMT)
I have Beau. Does anyone here actually like Beau as their favorite dragon? He's my favourite dragon. Artha is also pretty drac. Whoever has Fracsun in a card I ENVY YOU!!!!!
Talk please. :D
The Furox - December 19, 2005 06:04 PM (GMT)
Yep, I've got Beau as well. The fact that he can mag all gear is a real advantage in the game. I'm currently using him in a deck I built to take advantage of the "Launch!" blue event card which lets you play maneuvers from your discard pile. It's a powerful deck when I can get it to work. Though if the cards come up in the wrong order, I lose pretty badly. Gotta work on it some more.
I've got Fracshun as well, which you can also use for the "Launch!" strategy since he's a blue dragon.
You don't happen to have to the Brutaris dragon card do you?
Goddesstears - December 20, 2005 04:47 AM (GMT)
I haven't gotten any yet and I've looked all over for them. I guess you can't get them yet here in Oklahoma...Claremore anyways... <_<

If you just want some cards as souvenirs, I can send you a demo pack of 13 cards for free. If you want a starter deck, I've got those as well. I'll send you one if you promise to reimburse me for it after you get it. The starter decks are US$5 plus cost of postage. Just contact me if you want either of those. (If you want to do serious deck building, I've got extra booster packs as well.)
If you prefer to buy cards from a store, you can order them online from this place:
stop2shop.comI've bought stuff from them myself, so they're OK to deal with.

Do you play the game or do you just collect the cards? If you play, Phorrj is a great dragon to build a deck around. If you build your deck right, Phorrj's battle effect is quite powerful.
Brightclaw - December 21, 2005 09:45 PM (GMT)
wow cool. but i dont know what $5 is in £s and i have no idea where i can get them exchanged. and i dont know how to send them. I do play the game and i am a champ against all my friends :D . but im a little more experienced i suppose. if you send me the info then i will try real hard to find an exchange service. oh yeah and for when christmas comes. MERRY CHRISTMAS!!
The Furox - December 22, 2005 01:59 AM (GMT)
I think you'll probably be better off buying the cards locally given the cost of air mail postage to the UK. But if you can't get them at all, then let me know.
So which dragon do you generally use?
I've built decks around Phorrj, Beau and Shuko. I thought Shuko's battle effect would be strong, but I haven't been able to make the deck work overall. It's fun to try, though. With Beau, I'm using the "Launch!" strategy which works extremely well at times. If things work out right, I totally annihilate my opponent. I've gotten as many 10 maneuvers in the track at once with that deck. though when it doesn't work, I lose badly. <_< That deck still needs work. ;)
My strongest deck is built around Phorrj's battle effect. I also rely on having Embyrr around. That plus four copies of "Ancient Might", "Release the Dragon" and "Aerial Assist" makes for a good deck. No one's beaten me in tournament play with this deck yet.
I have Decepshun and I want to try building a deck around her at some point. I'd be trying for the deck exhaustion strategy which sounds like it could be fun to play. I particular like the crew card that lets you steal your opponents gear. Though I don't know how effective it would be in practice. Only one way to find out. B)

Wow really? :P Yeah, I just want to collect them because, hey, they're Dragon Booster. I doubt I'd find anyone here who really likes or knows DB anyways. I'll check out that site too. Thanx
Brightclaw - December 22, 2005 10:11 AM (GMT)
I build my deck around Beau and Phorrj. I find beau's effect good. The colour boxes so he can mag any gear. My fav cards are Beau, Phorrj, Kitt Wonn, Artha Penn and Decepshun :P . I have'nt got Decepshun yet <_< . But I hope i can get her soon. Ive asked for some cards for christmas so who knows. I hope i get decepshun or hyve why aren't there any cards of Propheci? any way what are your fav cards? ;)

The Prophets will be in the expansion edition, if it ever comes out. It should include Propheci and maybe one other dragon plus Reepyr and some other crew, and a bunch of gear cards. I don't know when it will be released though. It was supposed to be out by now, but the game isn't all that popular, so who knows what will happen with it. The expansion is supposed to also include a bunch more gold event cards and some gold maneuvers.

Favorite cards for playing to win ;) are: Phorrj and Beau, Embyrr and Lance crew cards, Light green modification gear, red thruster gear, purple glue gear, and light blue stun gear. Those last two really annoy your opponent. :P The two most important event cards in my decks are "Ancient Might" and "Release the Dragon". And "Immense Power" can be useful as well in some decks I've built. I also use "Nothing Stands in My Way" in most of my decks. I once got two of those in play and killed my opponent. :ph43r: And if you're playing Phorrj, "Scoop Up" is a good card to have in your deck.
Decepshun has a cool battle effect I want to try some time. I've got her card but I haven't had time to build a deck around her yet.
I also want to try building a deck around Hyve sometime. If you're playing purple, there are cards that let you recruit extra crew and there are other cards that give you added sprint value if you have lots of crew. Sound like a fun deck to try! :D
Brightclaw - December 27, 2005 08:28 PM (GMT)
I got a pack of db cards for christmas and i got Fracshun, Artha and all my other fav cards. YAY!!! :P And i got a roboraptor  l. What did every 1 else get.
Goddesstears - January 3, 2006 04:33 AM (GMT)
YAY! I got Phorrj! ^^ I can't wait to try and collect the other dragons. I also got Embyrr and a couple of cool gear like a green mag cannon, green tail hammer, and red heat armor. I couldn't believe how many cards came in that set! Thanks again Furox! I'll hopefully be getting that money order in the mail tomorrow as well as a drawing of Beau I did for you ^^
The Furox - January 3, 2006 08:30 AM (GMT)
Oh, cool! I can't wait to see the drawing! Thanks! :)
I'm glad you're enjoying the cards. Phorrj is a good dragon to build a strong deck around. The red dragons are about speed, and in the game that translates into scoring points quickly and trying to get ahead of your opponent. You can win the game pretty quickly with Phorrj when playing against a weak opponent (if you build your deck right, of course ;) ).
Let me know if you want more cards. I can get them from the store at a substantial discount (less than half price).

People who live in america are sooooooooooooo lucky. You get the big packs for $5.00 which is £2.50 and over here they are £8.00 which is just under $16. I want to live in america. but i am going to america this march so is there any tips that people could mention hint hint.
Kairos~Lokorr - January 4, 2006 12:03 AM (GMT)
Anyone know where the DB cards can actually be found in florida? Cause They had them here for a short while and then Poof their all gone from every store that had them almost a month after they got them in. I haven't seen any store with them since and I don't really have any way of getting them from online either.
Thrakos - January 4, 2006 12:33 AM (GMT)

Well, the grass always seems greener in the other fellow's yard. I would like to be able to visit Blackpool Pleasure Beach and Alton Towers in England without having to take a 10-hour flight and incurring well over $1500 in travel expenses. ;) On the bright side though, I have easy access to Disneyland in Anaheim. B)
As for the cards, I get them cheap because I volunteer to help the game store run demos and tournaments. They return the favor by letting me buy cards at their cost. The starter decks normally sell for $14 so that's not too much different than what you pay.

:P No problem! I had to show how happy I was to get the cards, and drawings the best way I know how. ^^
I'm very much enjoying them. ^^ I didn't think I'd be able to understand the game, as the only card game I've successfully played has been Yu-Gi-Oh! and I'm still kinda lacking at that. I know I'd never be able to attend those big tournaments, but a friendly game I could do with. Maybe once I get another deck or something I'll try to teach my mom or maybe my friend whose pretty good at Yu-Gi-Oh! I've collected about 200 Yu-Gi-Oh! cards, but I'm going to be trading or selling some of them that I don't much care for or can't use..then I can buy some more Dragon Booster cards. I'll try and see if my mom will let me get some more.

That's the nice thing about the games Score Entertainment makes: they keep the rules simple, leaving out the overly complex turn sequence most card games have, and leave it up the player to discover the possible card combos that work best. This makes their games much more approachable and fun. One of the main things they do is to completely dispense with mana cards. None of their games use them. In my opinion, this really improves the game dynamics. I've played Magic a bit, but I find it a bit dull because nothing much happens for the first 10 moves until you get your mana cards and first few creatures in play. With Dragon Booster, you can get a maneuver in play on turn 1 (if you build your deck right) and you're battling your opponent right away. The pace of the game is so much better.
Inuyasha is another really good card game Score makes. The rules are even simpler than Dragon Booster, but the cards have incredible deep and cool interactions with each other. So you can start playing the game right away and discover the card combos as you go along. If you like variety, you might want to check that game out as well.
Have fun with the cards!
Goddesstears - January 10, 2006 02:34 AM (GMT)
When my oldest brother came over today for lunch he looked at my DB cards and he says "What's up with the see-thru cards?" So I showed him how you mag the gear to the dragon and how it increases a point to whichever it matches and he just said "Weird" He's only seen a bit of one episode, so I don't think he would have understood it much anyways.

Actually I use them for Reference sometimes since I haven't found anyone who plays here (a likely reason I can't find them actually, wouldn't count on it though)
And I would appreciate you sending me a a starter or a booster, since I should have coin to spare soon.

Dang. But thanks, i needed to get a look at Beau.
The Furox - August 16, 2006 06:34 PM (GMT)
Yeah, it's too bad the game isn't more popular. It's actually quite a well designed game and there are lots of different play styles that are possible. Score Entertainment (the company that makes the game) has already designed an expansion pack, but it looks like it will never be released. It was supposed to have been released a year ago, but was put on hold when the premier set didn't sell well. I heard the expansion pack was to contain Propheci among several other dragons (like maybe Coershun), along with new gear for them.
Also, I was expecting them to come out with gold maneuver cards, since there presently are none, and maybe more gold event cards as well. As it presently stands, the
Mortis Crew Card is basically unusable since there aren't enough gold cards right now to make it worthwhile. Right now, there are only two gold event cards and you can only have four copies of any give card in your deck. So the most you can have is eight gold cards in your 60 card race deck. That means if you try to use Mortis' effect, you have only a 13% chance of it working which is too small to risk using given you only get one point at best. It's pretty clear they meant the Mortis card to be incentive to buy the expansion pack so you could actually start using it.
Sigh. If the game was more popular you could easily imagine T. Pax becoming available in a future expansion, but that just isn't going to happen. Such a shame.
Armeggadon - September 4, 2006 05:18 PM (GMT)
Ah, I was looking forward to collectin tpax and abandon.
The Furox - September 6, 2006 01:18 AM (GMT)
Abandonn is available now in the premiere set. I've got him in my collection. It's just a matter of opening enough booster packs to find him. :)
Armeggadon - September 7, 2006 10:48 PM (GMT)
Exactly how many booster packs would that be?
The Furox - September 8, 2006 01:20 AM (GMT)
The booster packs contain a randomized set of cards, so you never know what you'll get. You might get lucky and get the dragon card you want in the very first pack you open. Or you could be unlucky and never open the right pack. That's one of the reasons people trade, of course. :)
I've opened around 70 booster packs myself.
Armeggadon - September 8, 2006 01:27 AM (GMT)
I mnow the random part. When i colected Yugioh, I got a super rare in my very first pack. What are the odds that would happen with me and abandon.

| QUOTE (Armeggadon @ Sep 7 2006, 06:27 PM) |
| What are the odds that would happen with me and abandon. |
There are 85 different "crystal" cards in the premiere set, where a crystal card is either a dragon, gear or crew card. Each booster pack contains one random crystal card, therefore your odds of getting Abandonn in the first booster pack you open is 1 chance in 85. Not the kind of odds I would bet on. ;)
Armeggadon - September 8, 2006 01:42 AM (GMT)
NOOOOOOOOOOOO, Abandon why do you shun me so! :(
The Furox - September 8, 2006 02:29 AM (GMT)
Here. You can enjoy his presence virtually. :D
