Title: Christmas

ShadowCat - December 3, 2005 01:47 AM (GMT)
Has anyone got any plans for Christmas? We're thinking of staying home because we're moving into a new house soon.

Oooh, CSI city. :P

I don't actually keep/have anything to do with Christmas. So I'll just be plodding along, doin' my usual. . . . With everyone home for the holidays. <_< :P

I'm going to Phoenix, Arizona myself. I don't particularly like cold weather, unless it means skiing, in which case I make an exception. ;)

Vegas, huh? Cool! It won't be a white Christmas (unless you travel into the mountains outside of town), but you should have fun. Are you going to any of the big shows? My all-time favorite show there is the Cirque du Soleil show "O" at the Bellagio hotel. Simply stunning. (Much better than their other show "Mystere" over at the Treasure Island hotel).

Into the Beatles at all? A tribute band called the Fab Four performs over at the Aladdin hotel. It's the most perfect Beatles re-creation I've ever seen. I thought it was a great show and it's one I always recommend. The Aladdin hotel also has a great dinner buffet that's just about my favorite.

Blue Man Group performs a show over at the Venetian hotel that is also great fun it you want something a little avant-garde. Another one I recommend.

Like Star Trek? Then try the Star Trek Experience over at the Las Vegas Hilton. I thought it was a lot of fun (I went through it like 5 times :) ).

Like rides and roller coasters? Circus Circus has an indoor amusement park, plus several of the major hotels like New York, New York, the Sahara and the Stratosphere have roller coasters or other rides of their own. If you're seriously into coasters, there's another big one 20 miles south of town on Interstate 15 at Buffalo Bill's casino. When it was built, it was the tallest one in the world (though long since eclipsed by others). I've been on all the rides and it's a fun way to spend a day. That is, as long as you don't have a problem with motion sickness. :)

Fun hotels just to look around in are the Luxor, Caesar's, Venetian, Aladdin and Mandalay Bay.

Hope you have a nice trip!

If our family gets the time, I'll be sure to check that out, and some of the other places you recommended. :D But it's mostly a family-related personal event. :)

Stayin' home. Mi hermano will be coming home from college soon, other than that, it'll probably be a blur of computer, snow, snowboarding, and massive amounts of sweets :D

Hmmm, I get to see Blue Man Group this spring, goin' to NY to see Wicked.

Sounds like fun. Have you seen "The Producers" yet? Well, worth it.

Yes, that's the one. :D It's the Broadway musical adaption Mel Brooks did of his old movie by the same name. It's hilarious and is one of the best plays I've ever seen. I saw it when the touring version came through San Francisco. I highly recommend it. The web site for the show is here:

The Producers on Broadway

Oh, and I think you'll like Blue Man Group as well. :)
