A teaser trailer is now out for the live action movie based on "The Avatar" animated series. It doesn't show us much, but it looks promising:

From the style, it looks like they'll be aiming the movie at an older age group than the series was for, which is pretty much what I suspected. I think they need to do that to be successful with this. But I think that also means that Appa and Momo will probably be removed from the story line to make it less toony. We'll see though.

I also wonder how much of the full series will be covered by this movie. Are they going to try and do the whole thing up to the battle with the Fire Lord, or is the movie going to be just Book 1 and then have it be the first movie in a trilogy?

Looks like it could be fun seeing in any event. :)

Be warned about, however, the whitewashing in the casting--the three heroic leads, originally Asian, are played by Caucasian actors, while the villainous nation is cast as brown-skinned.

I saw the preview for it when i saw transformers 2 and its looks alright. Not great, but ok.

i highly doubt that they'll remove appa, but momo is also too cute to remove :wub:

As a grandmother, I would be watching this movie with a few of my grandchildren. Some of them are avid fans of the show.
