Continuation of the first ep.
Discuss. :)

O hi sorry about the posts :( i'll try to get better at it *snif, snif* (tear dops rolling down my face like small diamonds shining like the stars in the night sky).
"well *snif* let get started about that subject ok", I sade in a sorrowful voice. I like the part where the dragon booster flew on his dragon beau with kitt raped in his arms like Aladdin and jasmine on a magic carpet ride.

For me, the first two eps ('The Choosing' 1 and 2) were very decent introductions. First up we are introduced to Artha and all the usual characters, as well as hammering out the dragons. Second ep, we see what dragon racing is like, and Artha goes Dragon Booster.
I particularly liked Kitt in this episode. Especially the part where she came in screaming like a battle-goddess. If she kept that up, she'd be the Dragon Booster equivelant of Boudica. But oh no, Dragon Booster had to relegate her to cliched love intrest. *headdesk*
Beau can fly! Or more precisly, glide.
This has to be the second longest race sequence in the series, after Leap O' Lorius.
Wyldfyr acts independant! Although all she does independantly is run like hell and buck off Kitt, it's at least something.
Don't worry, Kitt Raada Wann (Can I call you KRW?)/ I think your posts are fine, apart from needing a little spelling. And spelling wrapped as raped rouses suspicion, 'specially as to the fact that they both mean something.

I always thought it was a bit out of character for Wyldfyr to let Kitt fall out of the saddle and run off without looking back like that. In "Three Times a Hero" and "Wraith Booster," Wyldfyr stands up for Kitt, so it doesn't seem like her to just leave Kitt on her own there. But of course, Kitt needed to be in distress so Artha could rescue her. I wish they had found a better way to separate her from Wyldfyr though.
I like part 2 better than part 1 since it's got more action and a nice race sequence. Part 1 is a bit slow, but it's hard to fault them since there's so much plot and character exposition that has to occur. It's got to be tough to write an episode like that. Act 3 is really good in any event.
And there's always my favorite question regarding part 1: what would Kitt have done with Wyldfyr had Beau chosen her to be the Dragon Booster? Would she have traded Wyldfyr in and said "see ya later, Wyldfyr. I'm trading up." Or would she have taken both dragons home with her? Hmm.

If you were in immediate danger, what would YOU do? Stay around and slide off to your doom?
I guess Kitt was distracted by the snapping wires and such to hold on when Wyldfyr bolted.
I loved it when Moordryd ejected from his saddle.
Moordryd: (steers parachute, notices large ad) No! No! Noo! (crashes) Urf. (falls off) Urrrrrr....(falls in bin) Urf! (pops out covered in garbage and picks fish ones out of his mouth) Bleh...(falls back in) Urf!
Comic gold. Pure comic gold. Sure, it's cliche, but his 'oof's were just so funny!

Yeah, that made me crack up too. Notice how Moordryd tends to crash into a few billboards for a few episodes, or when somebody lands in a garbage can...:D

In that particular situation, Wyldfyr should have mag'ed Kitt and pulled her to safety as she jumped clear herself. The writers seem to forget frequently that the dragons can do things like this. :)
Like in "Wraith Booster" when Moordryd is hanging off the edge of the hydrag hole. Decepshun is standing right there and not doing anything to help when she could have just mag'ed him back into the saddle. But of course the story required that Lance be the one to help in order for Moordryd to have his later change of heart. That's all fine of course, I just wish they had provided a reason why the dragons can't help in those situations. For example, another fissure in the ground could have opened up at the same time and Decepshun could have been busy fighting off a second hydrag thereby leaving Lance as the only one left who could help Moordryd.
In "The Choosing, part 2", if I were writing the story I would have had Wyldfyr loose her footing as the platform collapsed, causing Kitt to fall out of the saddle as Wyldfyr fell half way over the edge herself. That way Wyldfyr would be in no position to help Kitt and there's no way Kitt could possibly help Wyldfyr due to the weight difference. Beau could have then come over to help Wyldfyr, and while the dragons are thus occupied, Kitt, Parm and Lance slide away out of mag range which then requires Artha's daring rescue. That all fits together better in my mind. I think it's better that way than having characters that are capable of doing something standing around and doing nothing. Makes the story stronger and more cohesive, and I think it would increase the impact as well. ;)

I agree with The Furox. Wyldfyr sould have been in some or other prodicament (hoped I spelled that right) not to help Kitt. Or may be Wyldfyr personallity evoles over the eps.

I also find it to be a decent introduction to the series. I like the way Beau scolded Artha, upon seeing Mortis. It is sad that Moordryd learned that the Dragon Booster would rescue Lance, Kitt, and Parmon from then on. It was nice of Kitt to come to rescue Parmon and Lance from the Dragon Eyes, and she needed rescuing in the end. Beau gliding in the air was fun to watch.

The Dragon Eyes Crew members that entered the stables are Prankk, Swayy, Moordryd, Cain, and Rancydd. Prankk appeared in another episode, "Three times a Hero."
From the trading cards, Blarre has white hair, Swayy has green hair, Vizz has green hair, and Rancydd has red hair.
Overall, I love this episode. Dragon Eyes coming into the compound was fun to watch.

Thank you, Decepshunmy, for naming that unknown crew member. All Dragon Eyes crew members are now known.

Did anyone else notice that a saddle appeared on Beau when Artha dragon boostered for the first time? hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm...

I noticed it too. How did Beau get to the top of roof? His fins appeared for the first time too. You were not the only one, Shining-Dragon.

If you were to ask about the saddle appearing when Beau previously had none and about Beau getting up on the roof, I'm sure The Magna Draconis would simply say it just happened off-camera while we weren't "looking". More precisely, Beau and Artha could have just ridden the elevator back up to the stables, grabbed the saddle, then snuck around and climbed up on the roof in order to make their dramatic debut entrance. :D
Any time there's a cut between scenes like that, the writers can always wave their hands and say whatever's missing happened off-camera. In some ways this is a good thing since otherwise the show gets bogged down showing us minutiae that would interrupt the pace and be boring to watch. Of course, if they go too far here it goes beyond plausibility and can ruin the suspension of disbelief. I'd say these things are all a matter of balance in the story writing.
Speaking of Beau's saddle, the other thing I've noticed is that it changes from his racing saddle to the DB saddle when Artha powers-up. Since Beau clearly isn't carrying two saddles around with him, that means the saddle must transform when Artha does. That always struck me as a little weird, but I guess if Artha's armor can appear out of nowhere, then the saddle can transform as well. :)

the golden saddle of legend!

I enjoyed the race at the beginning, especially after Artha made that leap over the trap, and with Moordryd ejecting himself from Decepshun. I like the little romance from Artha, when he was looking at Kitt.
