how many laps are there in a dragon race? I mean, all you ever see is them doing the one. It can't be that short, can it? particularly at the speeds they move at.

It looks like there's only 1 lap in a race, except for the Survival Dome where you apparently run around in circles inside the dome until you're down to the last two competitors.

in that case, how long are the tracks? like, in miles, since they allways talk about '200 mile per hour dragons'

It seems to vary all over. The Gauntlet track is really short and only takes like two minutes to complete, but I'm sure the Marathon race takes like all day, or maybe even multiple days like the Iditarod.

been a while, but i noticed something re-watching 'the stand'. apparently the race they were doing in that one during the middle of the episode has multiple laps, as Parmon says he should pick up replacement gear 'on the second lap'. so i guess that really does answer one question, dragon races have multiple laps. exactly how MANY remains to be seen.
