I'm not sure the pirated DVDs would still be available, though either way I'd recommend against buying them since it is an illegal activity. It's a shame the series was never released in its entirety on DVD, but I wouldn't buy pirated copies.
drake - September 30, 2008 11:10 PM (GMT)
awwwwww scales furox i know you are right the honorable part of me agrees that i should not buy them but the greedy for dragon booster part of me is screaming at me to buy them ahhhhhh what do i do? this is why i like following some times so much easier lol ( can tell i am a purple pack dragon rider)
The Furox - October 2, 2008 07:52 AM (GMT)
Rather than buy pirated DVDs, there are two other choices I think are preferable:
- Watch the episodes on youtube. I believe they're all there.
- Download the episodes others have put on the net for free.
While these are still both technically copyright violations, they're better than putting money into the pocket of someone who's pirating the episodes. Awhile back I asked Rob what his opinion of the episodes on youtube was and he said he didn't mind them being there for anyone to watch. His feeling was that while it may reduce DVD sales a little, it does more good than harm since it can open the show to new viewers that may then become fans. He also said he didn't mind people making fan videos with downloaded episodes, nor did he mind all the screenshots I'm using all over dragon-city.org. It's only when someone attempts to profit from all this that he starts minding, so that's where he draws the line.
So go for one of those two options instead of buying pirated copies.

I agree with Furox. Unluckily, these episodes are not shown on Youtube:
The Changelings, When Opposites Attract, The Defiant, Silthercorp, and The Mouth that Roared.
If you are starting, it is best to start with the Choosing Part 1. This is way better than DVDs.
Shining-Dragon - October 2, 2008 02:49 PM (GMT)
the changlings will be uploaded to youtube again soon, as i asked
Liliwen - October 2, 2008 02:54 PM (GMT)
I've got the Horn of Libris and Darkness Falls downloaded, so if you want I could upload them to youtube.
drake - October 2, 2008 08:22 PM (GMT)

Liliwen - October 3, 2008 11:57 PM (GMT)

Arthapenn - October 4, 2008 03:54 AM (GMT)
Thank you so much, Liliwen! These would help me so much in my stories. These are much-needed episodes.

The Furox - October 19, 2008 06:40 AM (GMT)
The game is for the Nintendo DS. It's a dragon racing game, but it's nothing too fancy. It is easily obtained off of ebay.
Arthapenn - October 19, 2008 01:34 PM (GMT)
Good, drake. Just watch the show on Youtube. I am refreshing my memory by watching the show again.

You can also help get Dragon Booster on iTunes. There should be a link to ask them to do that on Furox's site.

Good news guys. I spoke to the people at a DVD distrubuting company called "Shout Facotry". They are the ones who put out such great DVD box sets like The Weird Al Show, Sonic The Hedgehog cartoon series, The Mario Borthers cartoon series, Captain N The Game Master, Where On Earth is Carmon Sandiago and many more tv show I and im sure most of you used to grow up on. I told them about the show and they are very open to ideas of what TV shows they should put out on DVD. I told them about Dragon Booster and they are looking into it. I gave them a bunch of web addresses including the petition. So lets hope they see the petitiopn because im sure that's a strong point. So get those sigs.

Wootness! That would be awesome if they released the rest of the episodes on DVD! When I have the money I'm planning on buying all the DVDs, so I can actually support the show, instead of just having the free downloaded ones I have right now. And besides, the DVDs would be much higher quality than what I have now anyway! XD

Plus the other cool thing about DVDs distrubuted by Shout Factory is that they are NEVER short of Special Features. Im a huge stickler for Special Features. Their DVDs are are always packed with stuff like interviews, commentary, concept art, story board to screen comparisons, photos, & even how to draw some cartoon characters. Some of them even come with set top DVD games.
It would kick @$$ if they had Mortis challenge race. Or an interview with The Magna Draconis, or even have our Q&As posted in the DVDs. So people lets get that petition CRANKING!!!

cartoon-avenue looks like a bootleg site to me. As far as I know, there has been no official release of the whole series, and then there's this little clause I found in the Terms and Conditions section of their web site:
| QUOTE |
| All of the CD/DVDs on this website are assumed to be public domain, with no rights implied or given. If you, or your company own the copyrights to any of the products listed on this website please contact us at the address below and we will be more than happy to take them down. |
We know DB isn't in the public domain, so that pretty much confirms they're bootlegging it and I'm sure they know it since copyrights don't expire for a very long time these days. They probably downloaded the episodes off the Internet and are just burning them to DVD themselves. Among other things, the quality is probably lousy. They're also trying to claim they aren't profiting from the sale:

Baloney. A legitimate seller wouldn't put things like this in their terms and conditions. I don't recommend anyone do business with them.
Hopefully, a legitimate box set will come from someone like The Shout Factory at some point.
Shining-Dragon - November 12, 2008 06:44 PM (GMT)
indeed, i truley believe that is a priated dvd set. if it was a legitamate dvd, i'm sure a link would be on the offical dragon booster webpage
Renesh - November 12, 2008 11:16 PM (GMT)
...If you thought it was bootleg, then why did you post a link to it?
