I believe Beau is the real brains. He's got the knowledge of the original Dragon of Legend and all that, but in general he seems pretty sharp. He's always got the look in his eye when he knows that Artha is doing something stupid that says "Nah, I'll let him do it. Maybe he'll learn something."
