Description: Shocking revelations!!!!!!!!

Okay, I think that there's already a topic that this could fall under (called "What's in a name" or something) But I think that this deserves a title of its own.

I don't know how familiar people are with the tale of the Trojan War (Face that launched a thousand ships. etc) but a lesser known story concerning Achilles tells of how he dressed as a woman and hid with seven princesses to avoid going to war. His mother had told him to because she knew he would die if he was called away to war.

Okay, just to slow down, visualise Pyrrah's hair. Her heavy make-up, her clothes and that creepy voice that makes your skin crawl. Just picture it.

Now, to finish my story, while living dressed as a woman, Achilles went by the feminine name of Pyrrah.
Dun dun DUUUUUUU!!!!!

Of course, Achilles was discovered and sent away to war, but the fact is, this tale proves that Pyrrah could very well be a man. It'd explain the hair at least.
What do we think? Names are very significant things, and Pyrrah does look a bit... iffy.... :plot:

I don't think Pyrrah's a man. She's too... busty and feminine for that. And I don't really think her voice makes my skin crawl either. :P

But that is a VERY interesting point you have there. So Pyrrah's name is not just a female version of 'pyro'. It's got a Greek background like alot of the other names! :faint: Cool. ^_^

Oh that's cool! I didn't know that. And here's something I found online:

QUOTE
He took care of him, dressing him as a woman amongst the maidens and changing his name; the girls called him Pyrrha, because in Greece reddish-blond hair is called "pyrrhon" (flame-coloured).

Note that the spelling of the name is slightly different, but the name clearly derives from flame-colored hair! That's got to be one reason they chose that name for our Pyrrah.

I think it's doubtful though that Pyrrah is actually a guy in drag. :)

Cool reference though!

Yeah. We can't take everything that the nomenclature can be taken to mean as fact. In the Arthurian legend that many of the main characters derive their names from, Arthur and Moordryd were brothers. Even so, I doubt that's what they were trying to say there. It was also true that they opposed one another and fought often. That seems like the more reasonable meaning. Same situation for Pyrrah. It would make sense for her to be named after flame hair. Have you seen her head? Wild!

I always thought Pyrrah was always a female. She is way too...feminine to be a guy

She has a good accent and just a VERY funky hair style. My arms look just as odd after giving them a fire cleansing. After all moving your arms through large flames at a medium speed is nice and toasty and gets rid of any creatures that might be on ya! I really like "Fire Baths" Shes a definet female and allwayse has been but EXCELLENT observation on your part.
