Description: bring it back

I have really been giving this alot of thought. What if WE could fund a Dragon Booster new release OURSELVES to DVD. If everyone who signed the petition donated 10 dollars wed have over 60,000 dollars to work with. We could have a fundraiser, and as incentive for donations of twenty usd or more, print certificates with an awesome picture in background, and put that you now "own" a piece of DB. The certificates could even vary by donation amount example: 20 artha, 30 payne, 40 lance, ...100 Gold Beau and DB. We could fund the studio from private contributions, and pay the studio for its time in production and artists.
For distribution its elementary. Release the new season, or movie to online stores, and push the DC to market them to big stores. Create a limited edition pack with an action figure for more money to get kids to buy it. Once the kids watch it theyll see how great it is and tell their friends, and show off their toys. Those kids will then beg their parents and keep the cycle going. Thats basic marketing folks, and an absolute necessity for survival of a show.
The first step is willingness to step up and take the initiative to get things rolling. I believe that if we can get a grass roots movement starting with this amazing website, that well have the power to get this show up and running again on dvd releases...and if that is a success, then the long awaited series on dvd can and WILL become a reality..
Thanks

Nice idea!
But one question: how are we going to make the toys? :plot:
Anyways, I like the idea if only you expand more and tell us how do you plan to do it then it will come true! :)

The enthusiasm is laudable, but I'm afraid fundraising isn't really practical. According to what I've read, Dragon Booster costs on the order of $500,000 per episode. So we're talking about $13 million to make all 26 episodes of DB: Academy. If it were cheap to make a show like this, then it wouldn't be so hard to find a network willing to invest. This stuff is big bucks and we could never hope to raise that kind of money.
The only practical approach for us is to write letters to the networks telling them we want. They have to know there's an audience for the show before they'll make an investment.

I was thinking more along the lines of an hour movie to start, but Roldgold dragon and I were just wondering hat actual costs would be. Thats an awfully big ticket.
Just thought Id throw the idea out there anyways!
Storm Hawks is pretty cool too, and needs support to make it, but its still not nearly as good as Releasing the dragon!

Yeah, Storm Hawks is a bit weak story-wise, though it has great visuals and action scenes.
It would be nice to see a direct DVD DB movie, but even that would be expensive. It would probably be at least $3 million.
