Since I was writing a possible future story, I thought it would be fun to write a past story as well. There are none of the main characters from the show, since this takes story takes place before the first dragon, human war.
Prologue
The flames raced across the floor, eating everything its path. I hid in a corner of the room, hopping the flames wouldn’t find me. What had I done to be hated by all of the villagers and even my own father? Tears ran down my face and splashed onto the wooden floor. The flames drew closer and closer. I screamed as the flames started to lick my skin. I ran out of the corner to the back door, maybe I could escape. My skin was turned a dark red. I jumped up for the door handle, but I was not tall enough to reach it. I took a couple steps back and slammed the door with all of my might, but it wouldn’t move. I rubbed my left shoulder and let out a cry. Was I going to die? The flames came closer and some of them climbed up to the ceiling. I got onto my knees. I started to feel dizzy and I looked at my hands. The five small fingers I was used to seeing were changing. They were combining together to form three sharp claws. Soon three claws came from my shoes, but instead of breaking them, the shoes just disappeared. I looked at the claws that were once my hands; I knew why everyone hated me now. A golden tail sprouted from my behind and my face became slender with two horns. The spinal galaxy mark on my head, which my parents told me it was a birthmark, turned black and was in the center of my new head. I got onto all fours and ran at the door again. This time the door broke apart. I stopped and turned around. The building that I had grown up in fell to the ground. The flames glowed brightly as it burned the rubble. Something flew at me, so I quickly jumped out of the way. An arrow hit the ground. The golden head of it glowed brighter then any flame. A group of men gathered around with torches in their hands.
“There he is,” said a man.
“I can’t believe, my own flesh and blood could be a Dragcoon,” said another man.
I knew that voice was my father’s, but I never heard as much anger in it as I did today.
A woman came forward, “it doesn’t have to be this way: he’s just a boy.”
My golden eyes sparkled, maybe my mother could make things right.
“Was a boy,” said my father, “he is diseased and diseases can spread.”
Not wanted to wait for answer, I ran from the group. More arrows rained from the sky. I dodged each arrow that came down at amazing speed. I don’t think I have ever ran this fast in my whole life. Arrows stopped chasing me. From what I heard from my father, our village mined for something called Gold Draconium and weren’t the fighting types, but that was all in the past now. My own village wanted to kill me and I was alone in a very cruel world.
Chapter 1
Thirteen Years Later
I lazy dragged my feet across the ground. The bright sun glared down on me, as if it was my enemy. I shuffled my brown cloak, so it would stay on. I heard a sound in the distance. I hurried along and found what was making that noise. A flock of Crowdracs were picking seeds off the ground. An old man was trying to scare them away, but they kept on coming back for more. The old man seemed like he was going to pull something, sooner or later. I made sure that my hood was covering my face and walked down the hill. The Crowdracs screeched at me and flew into the sky. The old man looked at me and smiled.
“Thank you sonny,” he said, “those crows are always a problem.”
I nodded my head and pushed the dirt beneath my feet. It seemed too dry to grow anything in it.
“Do you know where Aurum City is?” I asked.
The old man rubbed his chin, “I do, but there is some trouble over their. Dragcoons that been popping up all over the place and causing trouble. Those pests are just making us human’s lives miserable.”
“I heard that so many times, but I have never seen a Dragcoon in my whole life.”
This was true; I had never seen Dragcoon like myself. I always dreamed to find other one, so I wouldn’t be alone, but I gave up on that dream years ago. Humans seemed to like to blame other things for there troubles instead of themselves. So anything that went wrong was instantly blamed on Dragcoons, even if there is no proof.
“Well all you need to do is just keep on going straight and you will see it. It is the biggest city around.”
“Thank you,” I said.
I walked away with my cloak dragging in the dirt behind me. I soon left the little farm behind me. The sand became deeper and deeper. I took another step, but my foot was caught. I muttered a curse and tried to free my foot from the sand’s grasp. My foot broke free and I fell backwards. My hood fell back revealing my coal black hair and the star mark on my forehead. I lay in the sand and looked at the sky. What was my reason for being alive in the first place? Was it for humans to treat me like a diseased that had to be conquered? I looked at my hands and I turned them into a fist. Why did I have to be different? I turned my head slowly to the side and saw a gold and black blur in the distance. I squinted my eyes, to see if I could make the object out better. My eyes closed and when I opened them, the object vanished. I got to my feet and brushed the sand off of my cloak. It must have been an allusion. I haven’t had a good drink of water in awhile so when I reached Aurum City I could get some and I knew that fastest way to get there. I put my hands on the ground and closed my eyes. When I opened them my hands were turned into claws. I flicked my golden tail and I started to run. The sand beneath my paws was thrown behind me as I ran. The wind seemed to dance around me, I just loved that feeling. I growled happily, running like this was like heaven to me. I closed my eyes and just let my paws take me where I needed to go. My paws started to feel a rocky surface beneath them. I stopped running and opened my eyes. I saw a city in the distance with flames from torches dancing down below. My stood up on my back legs and turned back into my human form. I sat down the rocks and closed my eyes. I would go into the city in the morning. I could blend easier with the other people in the daytime. I slowly went into the darkness of my mind to rest my body and soul.
Some people might be thing what is Aurum City? Well in the distance future, it will be know as Dragon City.
The idea is wery interestin ;) i like it
You should continue. It is very interesting! :cookie:
Thanks you two. I wasn't sure people would like it, but I thought if no one liked it, then I could get LightingFlash or Sarh (sp?) Frost to delete it. So I thought what was the harm in starting this story. This chapter is a bit dark, so beware.
Now here is chapter two.
Chapter 2
The sun shone brightly down on me. I looked at it and then moved my hood forward to cover my face. I got to my feet and walked down the rocky hill toward the city. I reached the gate of the city. There were two guards with bright gold amour stood on each side of the gate. I hesitated for a monument, what if they didn’t let me enter? I walked through the gate. The guards didn’t give me a second thought. I continued to walk down the dusty street. Children ran down the street laughing and playing with each other. They ran by me and I smiled. I would give anything to live that kind of a life again. I saw a well up ahead. People were crowding around it trying to get as much water as they could. This drought had lasted about a mouth and everyone was feeling the effects of it. I walked to the well and the group of people started to leave. I dropped the bucket into the well, but I didn’t hear a splash. I grabbed the handled and started to turn it to pull the bucket back up. The bucket was too light. The bucket returned, but it didn’t have a single drop of water in it. I violently tossed the bucket back into the well. I heard a bang as it hit the bottom. Something touched my shoulder and a turned around. I girl with long golden hair and black eyes looked at me. She had a small cup in her hands.
“Do you want some,” she asked.
I looked into the cup and then at her. I wasn’t sure if I should take it or not. She pushed it into my hands and I was forced to grab it, so the water wouldn’t spill on me.
“You aren’t from here, are you?”
“I am a traveler,” I said, “I never stay in one place for long.”
“I my name is Chrystal. What’s yours if you don’t mind me asking?”
“My name is Lee,” I said, between gulping down water.
“Lee, that is a short name,” said Chrystal, “but a good name none that less.”
I looked at Chrystal oddly, why she would care about a complete stranger. A scream pieced the air. I could see Chrystal tremble and she ran down the street. I dropped the cup and ran after her. She ran through the crowd of people and soon she stopped. A stopped a little ways behind her and I couldn’t believe what I saw. A little girl with golden hair was crying as two men held her. The men wore gold armour. Another man wore golden armour, but it was larger in size. I guessed he was a general of some sorts. He swung a gold sword in his hands. More villagers crowed around wanting to see what was going on.
“As you all know, we have been having some Dragcoon problems lately,” he said. “I know from our information that Dragcoons can look just like humans, but they can’t hid from us completely. In their human forms, they have gold color hair, like this girl right here.”
My hand clenched into a fist, that wasn’t true. I am a Dragcoon and I have black hair, but my gold eyes and star mark could give me away easily. The girl started to howl and tears streamed down her face. Her hair could just be naturally gold to begin with. The general moved closer to the girl and the guards held her firm.
“I General Roy, shall take end this Dragcoon’s life to put an end to our suffering.”
The guards pushed the little girl to the ground and Roy swung this sword. The girl howled as the blade came closer and closer. I pushed through the crowed and entered the circle. A gold ball of energy formed in my right hand. The villagers gasped behind me. I forced the energy out of my hand and aimed it at the sword. The sword was knocked out of Roy’s hands. The sword stuck into the ground and shone brightly. Roy looked at me with fear in his eyes.
“He’s the Dragcoon,” he yelled, “seize him!”
In a matter of seconds the guards grabbed me. They painfully pushed my arms into my back. The general plucked his sword from the ground and walked up toward me. He grabbed my hood and pulled it back. Roy let his blade rest on my neck, so I wouldn’t try anything. He looked over my face and smiled.
“Get rid of the girl, we have bigger fish to fry.”
Drac! I love it! You should really continue!
really intense. keep it going.
