Title: Jobs
Description: What is it ya do?

Obviously, this is meant for those members who are even old enough to hold a job  . I just got a new job, and this thread came to mind. I haven't seen it before though I don't frequent this board as often as most, I suppose. My apologies if it already exists, of course.
I haven't actually started any work I plan to do for the rest of my life. My first job was several years ago, as a cashier at Kmart. I spent quite some time there before finally getting frustrated with not getting promotions I felt I deserved. After that I took a job as a waitress.
Let me go off on a tangent for a moment to say this, never become a server. You might come home with $100+ in one night, but it's a gamble and the work is tough. I was working 9-12 hours at a time without break. (They're not obligated to give you one.) Sometimes I was coming home from a long shift where I was running everywhere with only $30-$40 in my pocket. People are mean and lousy tippers. I quit rather quickly.
Most recently I got lucky. A friend of mine called me up and asked if I wanted a job at GameStop. I'm a gamer so, obviously, I did. I got the job pretty quickly upon heading in. I got twenty hours this week which, for my first week, isn't bad at all. I get a break and, though I work fairly long shifts, they not miserable. (Knock on wood.)
If you've ever been into a GameStop, I'm sure you've noticed there are usually only 2-3 people working at a time. Occasionally, we get rushed, but it generally comes in bursts. Between those "bursts", I'm chatting with coworkers (boss included), sitting around, reading a book, or looking up new releases. As a bonus, workers at GameStop get to check out games from the store, and, of course, there's the discount as well. I have a feeling we'll be quite busy at the Halo 3 midnight release, but it's a fair trade for such an easy job.
The only frustrating part is getting ready. ::sigh:: I still don't wanna drag myself up and off to the shower in an hour. Having money is nice, but so is having a lazy day where I can just lay around without having to quickly do the math about how many hours I can be lazy before I need to get moving.

Ahhh, Youll get used to it Penny. Thats kind of what school is like remember?;-) I have 2 jobs. I work as a grounds keeper for a person that hosts weddings and so I maintain the grounds and work the wekends as well helping out at the wedding. My second job is a business I just started. I am a knife sharpener and I am the best one in the valley. In 1 hour if I have enough knives I can make 30 bucks. I am planning on becoming a Marine Biologist in about 8 years.(Hopefully less)

I only have to wait till I am 15 to get the license and 16 to drive, I have to drive with someone in the car and 17 to drive alone. I don't have a job yet, but after I graduate I am going to New York for Colage to take Art lessons and become and artist. :) I herd they have the best art colage there out of the whole Untied States. I am great at art work, mom said so. Next is painting! I am only great a certin things. Beau, dragons, dragon booster dragons, horses, and guinea pigs are what I waste my time on, but most of the time I draw dragons because they are my favorite, especially looking at all the action figures I have of them!
Beau, I can draw exactly without looking at a pic or the tv. Or anyones dragon for that matter! I say it's a gift! :P That's my job for now. Then I am moving back to Kentucky where I was born and rasied. And breed two Thouroghbreds and go into the Kentucky Derby. The bad part is when your horse is either in fourth or lower, it gets auctioned and people are able to buy it. :( That's the only thing I am worried about.

I'm used to it. I've worked jobs for a while. Heck, I have worked and plan to work along-side school. It's just something that always bugs me.

GameStop bought EB games. Technically, they're all GameStop. There are a few left. They just haven't changed their signs. The store I work at now used to be an EB. It's the same inside, there's just a different sign is all.

I'm a software engineer, as if you couldn't guess. Obviously, someone like me would be in a nerdy profession. :)
Here's a picture of me in my office at work. Ah, the excitement of software development!
