Title: Db On The Iphone!
Description: Dragon Booster in your Pocket
The Furox - July 27, 2007 07:25 AM (GMT)
OK, so probably nobody cares but me, but I wanted to have a posting with a time stamp to show I was the first person to watch Dragon Booster on the Apple iPhone. :) The first web site I visited was of course dragon-city.org, then I converted a full episode of DB and uploaded it to the phone. Naturally, I picked "Fanning the Flames" so I could watch Furox. :D

The image on the phone's screen is sharp and clear, but it's a bit more than my camera is designed to handle well so the picture came out a bit fuzzy. It really looks nice when watching it.
This episode was 150MB which means the whole series will take 6GB. The phone has 8GB, so that means I can carry the whole 39 episode series around in my pocket! And I'm sure I can apply more compression to get it down to half that if I wanted to.
Should be fun the next time I take a plane flight. :)

Sweet, that's so convenent, and drac. My phone can't do that.
Deathshallcome - July 27, 2007 02:47 PM (GMT)
thats wicked its a good reason why I am planing on getting one :)
Burnout Beau - July 27, 2007 03:00 PM (GMT)
You have an iPhone, Furox? That's awesome! :)
For me, owning an iPhone is more than a luxury already besides owning a sports car or a mansion. ;)
Dragon Fanatic - July 27, 2007 05:11 PM (GMT)
Cool! Now I have to upgrade to an Iphone. ;)
Elushun - July 27, 2007 05:12 PM (GMT)
Those things sound cool, but I wouldn't pay $600 for one unless it could also make coffee, find my keys, kill James Bond, and sustain cold fusion.
Deathshallcome - July 27, 2007 05:16 PM (GMT)
LOL wacked wants but funny in a way but it can also give you a map of the area you are in too Elushun and the places you wish to go phone numbers and adress.

It's a cellphoneiPodwebbrowserGPSnavigatorDVDplayerPDAlaptop contraption recently released by Apple. Only people that live under a rock havn't heard of it by now. The publicity for it was insane. Which makes it all the more amusing that its sales were way lower than expected, which totally destroyed Apple's stock. It went down by like eight bucks that day.
IbanezJFS - July 27, 2007 08:51 PM (GMT)
Very Drac. Portable Dragon Booster. I managed to put Dragon Booster on my PSP. With a little help with my computer wiz step Dad. He managed to get almost both DVDs on my PSPS special features an all. If I had a bigger memory stick I could have fit it all.

Hardly. That relatively small one day dip was due to faulty conclusions people drew from AT&T's quarterly results. When Apple announced their own results on Wednesday, the stock snapped back by gaining $10 and is now trading just a couple of dollars shy of the all time high. That's not exactly "destroying" the stock.
The iPhone was only on sale for the last 30 hours of the fiscal quarter, yet Apple sold 270,000 of them in that time. To put that in perspective, when Motorola introduced their popular Razr phones, it took them an entire month to sell that many phones. So Apple did in 30 hours what it took Motorola 30 days.
If I can ever find the time, I think a fun project would be to rig a streaming server on my home computer so I could stream the episodes to the phone so I wouldn't have to take up space on the phone itself. I could then access my entire music collection remotely as well.

How much does an Iphone cost? Everyone in my family's looking ot get one. And are they avaiable in Canada
Deathshallcome - July 28, 2007 05:17 PM (GMT)
I believe so if not it is going to have to be shipped over here.
The Furox - July 28, 2007 05:31 PM (GMT)
I didn't intend this to be an iPhone product thread, I was more interested in talking about fandom related things one could do with the device, like being able to check out the latest forum postings while you're waiting in line somewhere. So I'll just add these links and leave it at that:
General iPhone product informationiPhone in the Apple online storeI believe the phone is not yet offered in Canada. Further questions about the product can be sent to me via PM since this it getting too off topic.
Deathshallcome - July 28, 2007 05:32 PM (GMT)
yes I see that and now is shall go on topic again, since you have an iphone Furox, I was wondering if you could be able to access this site with it?
The Furox - July 28, 2007 06:32 PM (GMT)
Of course you can! It uses a fully functional web browser that looks the same as the one on my desk. It dispays all the pictures and animations, and of course I can post as well. In fact, I'm posting this from the iPhone right now. Like I said in my posting above, you can check out the latest postings while you're waiting in line somewhere. And since it displays images, you can browse the fan art as well.
Deathshallcome - July 28, 2007 06:45 PM (GMT)
Thats wicked    I could scoop some pictures of Banshun and my other favourite dragons... :plot:
IbanezJFS - July 29, 2007 02:05 AM (GMT)
I can try to get some pics of Dragon Booster on my PSP if that will help.
atomicnewt2552 - July 30, 2007 03:37 AM (GMT)
streaming would be nice, but Cingular/ATT have a crappy EDGE network thats slow as hell, if Sprint had it, on its awesome EV-DO i'd buy one, but not on EDGE. Wi-fi would be acceptable too, my house is wireless!
The Furox - July 30, 2007 05:54 AM (GMT)
Posting this on behalf of IbanezJFS. He was able to load DB onto his PSP so he could watch the episodes on the go:

And the iPhone has wi-fi built-in as well.
SheWulph - July 30, 2007 12:30 PM (GMT)
Now I'm jealous. My chances of getting an iphone or a PSP is zero to none.

Well, PSP here in the states are only $169.99 now. If there is an FYE store in South Africa. You can always try selling back CDs, DVDs, and vid games to them. Or there is always a yard sale.

XD My last stuff went into my $1200 labtop, which I needed in order to run the programs to do my project to finish my degree. So I'm a bit out of luck I'm afraid. But thanks for the idea IbanezJFS :cookie:
IbanezJFS - August 1, 2007 02:15 AM (GMT)
Well, you can always play the Dragon Booster DVDs on your lap top....Right? If you can then you have a way to watch dragon Booster where ever you go.
atomicnewt2552 - August 1, 2007 02:50 AM (GMT)
i kno the iphone has wifi, thats why i said that streaming on wifi=good, streaming on EDGE=BAD-X!!!! and PSP could stream through its internet browser too. and if Microsoft where smart, through a Zune media sort of thing (Zune has Wifi) they could set one up and someone post DB on it, that would be good but no such thing exists. and w/ the new PSP coming out, you can watch DB on PSP anywhere through your TV!
