Title: What Do You Think Of Artha?
Description: He's the hero
Dragon Fanatic - July 23, 2007 01:06 AM (GMT)
Me and another girl that I babysit have decided that Artha is pure evil to the end! So, we hate him. What do you all think about him? The canon sue egomanic!
Sarah Frost - July 23, 2007 01:20 AM (GMT)
I don't actually hate him, though I voted for that option. But he's immature, not smart or trying to be brighter, ego problems, a cheater, occasionally a bully or allowing Beau to do things like the Parm incident, hits Moordryd while he's down, and handed too many powers and accolades by the writers for me to
like him. Canon Sue, basically--rich father gives him speshul dragon and speshul powers causing everyone to compliment him and ignore the girl who actually worked to earn it all. I think my posts in
this topic mention a lot of my issues with him.
Nayade - July 23, 2007 03:56 AM (GMT)
I do think that Artha is going to be bald!!! I mean baldness is hereditary, isn't? :D .
Ok, back to normal^^, I vote for "Meh. He's okay.", I don't dislike him but I also don't like him to much. I don't like when he is always more powerfull and having the-most-greatest-attack/hability in the rigth momment. I don't remember seen him traning like Moordryd to learn the mag-claw attack and he turn into the best racer in less that one year surpassing Kitt that worked like two years for that, I mean is to much talented. Maybe to much the typical protagonist.
I will like to see in DB Academy (if someday comes to TV) an Artha that need to work more to lear habilities and is more insecure of himself.
Sai - July 23, 2007 04:33 AM (GMT)
I voted for I "hate him to the end", even though there are some good things about him.
1. He cares for his friends
2. He would save his friends/fam before himself(correction. He sometimes save's himself first and friends/fam second.)
Liliwen - July 23, 2007 07:40 PM (GMT)
I don't really hate him. If there had been an option between 'I hate him' and 'meh, he's okay', then I would've voted for that one. Most of the time I dislike him extremely. The main thing that irks me about him is the lack of training he does. Even in the very beginning, he does perfect flips and such. He doesn't race and he's a lazy, rich, VIDDgame playing kid. When did he learn to do such amazing flips? And when did he learn to beat up the Dragon Eyes, who must have been trained to fight and have fought most of their lives? If Artha, in DB:A, shows or mentions that he has trained very hard for every new thing he does, then I'll like him better. He'll actually deserve his whole destiny, I think.
The Great Grey - July 23, 2007 10:44 PM (GMT)
Like most of you guys and girls, I don't really hate Artha. I think we should have seen Artha train more, all we really see is him running the gantlet (sp?) course over and over again. It would have been cool if we saw the moument when Artha, stops using the vid gear (I think he only uses it in one episode, without counting the talking part of the gear).
Dragon Fanatic - August 7, 2007 07:54 PM (GMT)
Actually, he relies on Kitt for racing. He has no natural skill. If she was falling to her doom, would he save her?...Noooooo. He's an egomaniac!
The Hydrag - August 7, 2007 11:17 PM (GMT)
I dont hate him but I definetly dont respect him. He needs to have the Gauntlet or what ever taken away for a while untill he learns how to be a good Dragon Booster rather than allwayse throwing it on the ground saying "Im sick of being the Dragon Booster."
Crystal Wildfyr - August 13, 2007 03:08 PM (GMT)
I totally agree, the Hydrag. He gives up (Chromatic Dragon), so I can't love him, but I must respect him because in my fic's, Sam loves him...
koering - August 14, 2007 04:55 AM (GMT)
i think he is ........ok
he is sort of ignorant with a few things, but then again he does make a smart move here and there.

Just Hydrag please. And Thanks! Like The Furox is called Furox for example. Thanks. I still dont like him and I think its time someone else took over for a while. Parm would be a fun Dragon Booster but then again he allready is a Booster. Kitt would be a great chioce. I honestly dont know why Beau wouldnt choose her. Not to mention shed look pretty good in that suit if you ask me. But maby the suit is gender specific. Like the Fire Booster we saw is definetly a woman.

I think Artha's still tolerable for now despite his bratiness. Plus, I've seen other cartoon characters that are even more annoying than him.
SilverDragon - August 19, 2007 07:18 AM (GMT)
I'm personally not really bothered by him. Yes, he's not the best character-but I don't really care all that much about him.
Kairos~Lokorr - August 29, 2007 07:23 PM (GMT)
Said that I'm not to sure about him, But he can be tolerable since he does smart things on occasion. all considered I'm pretty much with Sarah where Artha's concerned.
Deathshallcome - August 29, 2007 07:59 PM (GMT)
meh he can be a jerk at times but aren't we all be like that sometimes? I chose meh because... i don't know but I never really hated him. I always thought Beau could have chosen better then him but that was his choice.
Aniu_the_white_wolf - August 29, 2007 10:00 PM (GMT)
I don't mind him, but.... *forgets what she was going to write*
Renesh - August 30, 2007 02:07 AM (GMT)
Grah! I totally agree with Sarah Frost! He is just a cannon sue! Someone better needs to knock him down to size! Kitt would be an awsome choice for that, but just about anyone would do as long as Artha gets the point.
Aniu_the_white_wolf - August 31, 2007 10:02 PM (GMT)
In this topic everyone keeps saying "canon sue" what is that?
Sarah Frost - August 31, 2007 10:21 PM (GMT)
Mary-Sue (character overly favoured by the author), only canon rather than fanfic. Eg. "Revyne, the Dark Lord's secret daughter, comes to Hogwarts as the most powerful and beautiful witch of her generation having to decide between Harry Potter and Draco Malfoy for her destined mate..." is a fanfic Mary-Sue, where the term pretty much started thanks to a lot of authors writing stories along those lines, and Rhapsody, who's a Sue worse than Artha, is a main character in a published series who has emerald eyes and golden hair described until you want to start screaming every time you hear the word emerald and is beautiful and humble and powerfully magical and a swordswoman and everyone loves her and she's so modest she doesn't realise it and wonderful and amazing and the entire universe is about her--canon Sue.
I think Artha's a Sue because of powers he didn't earn, his racing advancement past Kitt and everyone else despite being a novice, and the way everyone from Khatah to Kawake to the Dragon Priests venerate him even though he's a brat and at times when they shouldn't, eg Khatah complimenting him while they're *competing* and Moordryd telling him he's a good racer while they're fighting.
Da Suga Queen - September 1, 2007 03:14 AM (GMT)
I hate him to the end! Some people are pointing out his good qualities, but every one of those qualities are Sue qualities. He's a bland uninteresting character who got too good too quick and everyone thinks that the sun shines out of his bum. (am I allowed to say that?)
Honestly though, the episode Paynn Rising was, judging by the title, supposed to be about Moordryd having some spotlight. Instead, who gets the glory? Artha.
All the way through the third series, references are always made towards Moordryd and him being on top of the leaderboard. But in EVERY EPISODE Artha is always seen to be winning, minus the first race in Battle for the Ages where Moordryd is finally seen winning a race WHICH ARTHA ISN'T EVEN IN.
He downgrades Kitt from best racer to a sidekick just by learning a few mag moves.
He wins a race that he isn't even in for half the time. (I can't remember the name of it, but it's the one where they're in darkness. And nobody questions him? He didn't cheat? hmmmm...)
He claims he's sick of the responsibility of being Dragon Booster when it's clear that Beau does all the work.
I'd complain some more, but I think that's enough. Phew... :faint:
wodemy - September 26, 2007 05:10 PM (GMT)
I voted for not so shore about him, believe me, I like Artha, cos he's good and all, he tries to save everybody, but sometimes I just think that he's not the one who should be the Dragon Booster  We don't see him training and in one episode, when he's angry, Artha just trows the gauntlet away and says 'I don't want to be the DB!'
Does a real hero do that?
Anyway, he's a great charachter, but sometimes he gets me angry :bblast: :faint: lol

MaiBeyblader - November 20, 2007 06:53 PM (GMT)
I'm not too sure of him.
I'm not sure whether he's coming or going. Is he gonna be a hero (I like) or will he be a crybaby (I don't like).
*sighs* I'm not too sure of him... :plot:
muffinbooster - November 26, 2007 04:24 AM (GMT)
OMG I LUV HIM SO MUCH!!!!!!!!!!! HE'S MY BOT TOY AND MY ROCK!!!!!!!!!!!!
there will be no show without him! cause if there wasn't there will be no lesson to learn.
muffinsephybooster - November 26, 2007 11:55 AM (GMT)
Hm... Artha is ok =D he isn't the best hero ever but HEY WHO'S PERFECT! XD But sometimes i just sit there and think 'Why did he just do that?' but i guess he is sort of new to the whole 'hero' thing and he is also learning to be the dragon booster. then again with out his silly mistakes the show wouldn't be as funny or as interesting as it is now!!!!
BragonBoosterFanGirl - November 26, 2007 10:57 PM (GMT)
I agree with muffinsephybooster about Artha
Plus hes funny & cool.

In the first two seasons, but not so much anymore, in my opinion. How much time has passed, four or so months? I think that, at the end of ep 39, Artha is now comfortable with being the Dragon Booster, and being the hero. I don't think he'll throw any major temper tantrums like in The Chromatic Dragon anymore. *I hope* If he does, I hope it actually has some big consequences.

True. So true. :D *watches Artha the Drac again*

Oh, there'll be another whining fit from him
Artha: Oh, I have all this pressure from being DB, I don't have the biggest fangirl base, Moordryd is better at this and at that....
