Title: The Propheci Song
Description: My First DB Music Video!

The Furox - June 9, 2007 08:04 AM (GMT)
I finished it! My first full Dragon Booster music video!

I've been wanting to do one of these for ages, but could just never seem to find the time what with maintaining dragon-city.org and all the other stuff I do. I got inspired recently when I saw them using Led Zeppelin's "The Immigrant Song" in Shrek 3. As soon as I saw that, I thought "That's Propheci's Song!!!!" and I just had to make the video, especially since Propheci is one of my favorite characters in the show and he deserves to star in his own music video.

I offer two viewing choices:

Click here for youtube.com - for dial-up users

or

Click here for high resolution - for broadband users (or dial-up users with patience), 16MB download (requires Quicktime), much better picture and sound quality

This is my first video, so I would like to know what people think, and I'd appreciate it if you could leave a rating on youtube and maybe some comments here and/or on youtube.

I hope you like it. I had blast making it. :)

Thanks! That song is Propheci. The tension in the music and the dark undertone is just perfect for him and his crew. As soon as I saw them using that song in Shrek 3 I started envisioning which clips should go where in the song. It's like Led Zeppelin wrote that song just for him. Weird synchronicity considering that song was written nearly 40 years ago, but very fortunate for me. :) Orange dragons rule! :D

Thanks for the cookies! Mmm, Furox likes cookies. :D

Thanks, I enjoyed working on it. I wish I could have been doing this all my life. It'd be fun to do this for a living. Of course, the fact that Nerd Corps provided us with such great visuals made my job easy. And the music just flowed with the images so well.

And guess what?

This is my 3000th posting!!!

That means I'm either a real fan or certifiably insane (or both). Next stop, 4000 postings. :)

So who thinks they can catch up to me? Anyone? :P

Thanks. Lining up the roars like that was actually the very first thing I envisioned when I got the idea for this video. The video just had to start with Propheci issuing the first yell and then have it look like the other dragons were answering his call. :) And I knew the rolling boulder impact and the fire grenade had to be at the big cymbal hits at the end of the two choruses. The rest of the pieces fell into place pretty quickly after that.

Geez, I'm really going to be here for a while, aren't I. :P

Question:

Can anyone think of a really good song for a Furox video? I think it's kind of expected that I do one. :)

It has to be an intense song and a bit dark since I want to show off Furox's nasty side. The song should also have discernible sections to it. For example, "The Immigrant Song" naturally divides into three sections which allowed me to construct a three act video around it. I want to do something like that for Furox as well. And like "The Immigrant Song", I would like a song that builds to a climax. Finally, it needs to be a short song, or one that can be edited down. I only have a few minutes of footage of Furox-Phorrj to work with, so it's got to be a short song.

If you know of a really good song, please let me know. :)

awesome job with the video, good song choice

and are you looking for a song with words or not? if you don't need one with words then i have a couple of songs i could email to you that would be a pretty good Furox song

I was thinking about using that song, but for a completely different video. I think it will fit well with a particular idea I have. :)

For my Furox video, I'd like another song like "The Immigrant Song". That song would easily work for Furox, but I don't want to re-use the same song. I like Propheci too much and I want him to have his own unique song. :)

Thanks! I bet no one at The Story Hat every envisioned Propheci starring in his own music video. :)

I'm open to songs with or without lyrics. If the song has lyrics, then the words need to apply to Furox somehow. For example, "The Immigrant Song" has lyrics like "to fight the horde", "tides of war", "we are your overlords", all of which are just perfect for Propheci.

If the some has no lyrics, then the tone of the music needs to convey something about him that I can build a video around.

If you have suggestions just let me know!

Oh, that's a tall order. How long does it need to be? Or old time rock or what type of music?

The Hydrag - June 19, 2007 03:34 AM (GMT)
Last I looked if you go to youtuba and Type in Dragon Booster Music Videos then the Propheci song comes up as the first one. Congrats and Im still searching for a good Furox song.

Urm, how about Ben Moody's "Everything Burns"? Or Mercy Drive's "Burn in my Light"? Or Killswitch Engage's "This Fire Burns"? I've heard the former two before, but not the last one (that's just a random pick).

Note they all are related to fire. ;)

Hey Furox!

I have some ideas for your Furox video but most of them are from RPG games I've played and downloaded them to my itunes, if you are interested in hearing them I can send them to you and see for yourself ;D

Furox is a seriously bad dragon, so the music needs to reflect his aggressive nature. I think that means rock with intensity and drive, so something like "Can You Feel the Love Tonight" just isn't going to cut it. :)

The song needs to be pretty short since there isn't much Furox footage to work with. I'd say 2-3 minutes, though the song could be longer if there's an obvious way to edit it down shorter.

It's not all obvious what a good song for Furox is. I want a song with drive, but also want a song that divides into sections so I can divide the video into separate acts. I'm going to wait until I find the perfect song. I have another music video that I already have the right song for, so I plan to work on that one next.

I suppose if you want old time rock, AC/DC's T.N.T is a possiblity. Not the best choice, but it's a possiblity.

Let's see, what other songs are there...hold on. Need slinky to think. My hands are starting to shake from a medical condition that I developed recently. (about 10 minutes later) Alright, stop shaking enough to type.

It's too bad you aren't doing one for the Vysox cuz then the most perfect is AC/DC's Back in Black! The best AC/DC song ever.

Duran Duran's Wild Boys is iffy. It could be used for Samorox and Furox. Not what you're looking for though.

I would say Joseph Compello's Gypsy Dance would be an alright song. It's got some really nice parts that make it pretty exciting. Even though it's wind concert band (I played it ^_^. I had a nice little solo in it. Piccolo and flute, the top five instruments, along with piano, alto sax, and clarinet)

it's a good one. It's got a lot of trumpet, big noise, and loud bangs from the cymbal! (Little stupid percussionist. Took 6 months for him to learn the cymbal part. No offense to to anyone who has been a percussionist or played drums) It has a couple slight problems:
1. It's just slightly under 7 minutes long. (boy were we tired. :faint: You should've seen our picture. :eep: )
2. It has a lot of repetion in it.
3. It's got some slow parts.
4. Do not underestimate it. It is no normal dance.

A Vysox music video would be really hard to do since there's only like two minutes of footage of the Vysox bone mark before Decepshun absorbs it and her eyes stop glowing. :) Just not enough to work with. We'll have to hope seasons 4 & 5 get made to give us more Vysox footage! :D

But "Back in Black" might work with a different video I have in mind, so thanks for suggesting it. :cookie:

Yeah, it doesn't have the intensity and drive I want for that video.

I have a couple suggestions for possible music for a Furox video, they may sound stupid but here goes, lol-

Lucky You - Lostprophets
Vindicated - Dashboard Confessional
Alive - from Jekyll & Hyde the Musical

Dragon Fanatic - June 22, 2007 05:53 PM (GMT)
Sorry Furox. I could give you Gypsy Dance. It's programmed into my computer. I might be able to post a link for you. It's worth a try

Gypsy Dance

Yes! The link worked! Hopefully it works for you too! :)

P.S. If it doesn't work, I'll help you out. :)

Thanks for taking the time to post that. That's an interesting song. I'd have to edit it for length, but the last portion of the song can stand alone. I'll think about how it might fit. Plus I have a few ideas of my own to check out.

Thanks for the suggestions everyone! :)

You're very welcome! :) It didn't take any effort at all. I had it bookmarked under my favorites list! :P

P.S. You know the beginning and then when it repeats again, you could have Phorrj and Beau transform into Furox. It's about at the 6 second point
