Title: Is The Official Site Gone?!

Pyrrah - May 7, 2007 04:58 PM (GMT)
I went to http://www.dragonbooster.com now, and the site is missing . . . did they delete it? And if so, does that mean no more new Dragon Booster eppies?

Renesh - May 7, 2007 05:02 PM (GMT)
Well, Rob did say something about updating the site...so maybe it's down while they do that?

BlueBooster - May 7, 2007 05:04 PM (GMT)
yes I think your right Renesh, we just have to be patient, only time will tell i guess ^_^

Shining-Dragon - May 7, 2007 08:38 PM (GMT)
updated site + the petition = a good possibility of more episodes...?

silverfang - May 7, 2007 09:06 PM (GMT)
mybe.

does ANYONE have a way of contacting him quickly? :eep:

The Hydrag - May 8, 2007 03:42 AM (GMT)
Sorry I dont but I think that this either spells DOOM for Dragon Booster or it is a wonderfull sign of a bright and beautifull future blossoming before our eyes.
I think that it also might be just a maintence thing because some things like the Draconian text that you can down load is offline and they are repairing it.YAY!!!!

Pyrrah - May 8, 2007 04:16 PM (GMT)
Ok. Thanks guys! I was panicking there!

The Furox - May 8, 2007 04:30 PM (GMT)
I noticed it over the weekend myself and asked Rob about it. He said it's probably related to the fact that Alliance Atlantis is in the process of being acquired by CanWest MediaWorks. Alliance Atlantis is one of the companies involved with Dragon Booster on the distribution and licensing end and they apparently were responsible for running the web site. Exactly why the site went down and what this means is unknown. Rob was unaware of it himself until I emailed him.

When companies merge, support and operations usually get affected the most as jobs and responsibilities get shuffled between the two companies. It's kind of careless of them to have the site go down, but they're probably more focused on the merger than anything else.

If I learn anything more, I'll let you all know.

Shiroi_Neko - May 8, 2007 05:07 PM (GMT)
Man, that scares the heck out of me.

They could also fix the Race for Power game link........

The Furox - May 9, 2007 04:37 AM (GMT)
Well, try not to let it scare you that much. Alliance Atlantis doesn't really have any direct input into whether more episodes get made or not. It's up to the networks to buy in, and having the web site up or down won't affect that. The web site is probably just lost in the shuffle of the merger. It's careless of them, but it's not their main priority.

Also, I snagged a copy of the web site several months ago for just such an occurrence. So if the site doesn't come back up soon, I'll load up my copy of the site into a sub-area of my site so people can still visit it. You won't be able to play games unfortunately (since I can't grab the game server), but the rest of the content will be there.

:(

IbanezJFS - May 9, 2007 04:49 AM (GMT)
Well, this si where I make my contribution. A while ago. When we were all wondering when the second DVD was coming. I contact Alliance Atlantis and, ask them. If they knew anything about. And, from what their reply to me was...Well they said this "Dragon Booster is not in our records". Or something like that. Keep in mind this was a long time agon. Something could have happend by now. And, if push comes to shove...We still have Furox's site.

Hey, Furox, the OLD site is still up, sorta. The one from CBC that was before the makeover. It has the older version of the site with the Race For Power game on it as well as the "What color is your Dragon?" quiz.

http://dragonau.objectnova.com/

And the more recent CBC site that has both games on it.
http://www.cbc.ca/dragonbooster/

Hope that helps you, Furox!! :P

Can't wait till they refurbish the official site *jumps up and down with exitement*

The Furox - July 2, 2007 06:10 AM (GMT)
The official show web site is back online! Thanks to IbanezJFS for letting me know.

Not surprisingly, it's the same old site as before. But at least it's back online.

Nayade - July 7, 2007 06:29 PM (GMT)
More good news about Dragon Booster web pages:)
(I don't know if this is necessary to do another topic, so, I will just post here^^)

Many of us remember that the Dragon Booster TCG web page was closed some time ago, well, yesterday I just wondered if is still was offline and for my surprise it wasn't  . The TCG website is online again ^^ http://www.dragonboostertcg.com/

It doesn't look that there is any new stuff, but IMO, I don't care that to much, I'm glad to see it again ^^

The Furox - July 7, 2007 09:48 PM (GMT)
It's very surprising and unexpected to see this come back after so many months. I wonder why they did that. It appears to be the same as it was when they took it down at the beginning of November last year. The forum is even there with all the postings, although all the sections are marked read-only so you can't post anything new. But amazingly, it recognized my user name and password and let me login, so they seem to have restored the entire site.

Most unusual and I guess we'll never know why they did this. I'll guess we'll just leave it as a mystery. :)

Thanks for noticing it, Nayade. :cookie:

It cam eback on not oo long ago. Hard to say, I was a bit surprised my self. I signed in a ccount on it but I don;t remeber it at all. Oh well. But that site is as cool as your The Furox, but yours seems to be better. I love it and that where I get everything. Keep up the drac work The Furox. :D :D :D

The Hydrag - July 10, 2007 02:36 PM (GMT)
Does this mean that the draconian text is fixed and you can now useit? I hope so sooooooo much. I have a tonI want to translate

The Furox - July 10, 2007 05:17 PM (GMT)
I'm not sure it was ever broken, but the font is still there on the web site and it lets me download it. So have a go at it! :)

Crystal Wildfyr - August 11, 2007 10:16 PM (GMT)
The http://dragonau.objectnova.com/ won't open for me it comes up 'website cannot be displayed' Does it work for anyone else?

The Furox - August 12, 2007 04:29 AM (GMT)
It doesn't respond for me either. Maybe they took it down. I cloned the site a long time back, so if it doesn't come back within a reasonable amount of time, I'll load up my copy of it.

Crystal Wildfyr - August 12, 2007 06:14 PM (GMT)
Hmmm... Can you please put a duplicate of the site, the Furox? I would love to see it.

The Furox - September 2, 2007 10:54 PM (GMT)
OK, it looks like the mirror of the original version of dragonbooster.com that was hosted by objectnova.com is gone and isn't coming back. So I loaded up a clone of the site that I downloaded back in 2006 for just such a situation. :) It's linked off of Wyldfyr's Quicklinks on dragon-city.org or you can reach it directly through this link:

DragonBooster.com from 2004

Everything should be there including the game. However, there's a glitch in the links that prevents you from getting at the game from inside the Flash application that runs the site. Until I figure out a way to workaround that, you can access the game by going here:

Original Dragon Booster game

You can still play against the computer, however I can't get the software that ran the server which means you can't play a friend by email. Kind of a bummer since that was a much more fun way to play, but that's life.

Hope you enjoy this little bit of preserved history. :)
