Here's the first file that tells us all about the gear, the characteristics of all the different dragon breeds and more. I know this isn't formatted the greatest, but it's the best I could do quickly. This is also displayed with nicer graphics on dragon-city.org. The information about dragon breeds and draconium colors appears in Connor's Guide to Dragons, and the gear guide appears as part of Kitt's Guide to Dragon City.

DRAGON GUIDE 3-05

(ORGANIZED BY DRACONIUM COLOR)



The following document shows by draconium color, class and specific type, the typical arrangement and function of draconium dragon gear, including overall and specific description. While there are only 2-4 classes of gear per color, there can be many specific gear types within each class.



It also includes a guide to the general traits of each dragon color and their best gear affiliations. First, a few things to know about dragon gear:




GEAR MOUNTING LOCATIONS
- consist of the small bone protrusions or ZAP CAPS where draconium energy emissions from the dragon are focused and can project more easily from its body. These ZAP CAPS emit visible magnetism in the form of electrical bolts of energy COLORED to the specific Bone color of that dragon type.





GEAR USAGE
- Draconium gear "floats" when "magged" just off the surface of the dragon and this distance can be adjusted by either dragon or rider. Dragons can rotate gear over a ZAP CAP, swap gear between ZAP CAPS to move gear around the body, mag gear from gear pit racks and repel other dragons or their own gear from multiple ZAP CAPS.




Gear always has two functions, the race or competition function and the subsequent battle usage of same.




NOTE:
There are FIVE primary gear and draconium colors and all of the others are off-shoots of these. The five base colors are GOLD, BLACK, RED, GREEN and BLUE.




THE DRAGON EYES CREW



BLACK DRACONIUM DRAGONS AND GEAR

Black draconium dragons make good partners for the more cunning rider. Able to make mental connections with their rider, these PSI-CLASS dragons can 'feel' the intentions of those who ride them. They are smart, cunning and also possess a strong mind of their own and unless they respect those who ride them, they can be quite an opinionated handful.

OVERALL GEAR FUNCTION AND DESCRIPTION

Black draconium gear because of its energy charge is mostly used for gear that enhances mind-connection, controlling by guidance and intimidation and also to help with the "mind over matter" aspects of stealth and speed.



Black gear is often sleek, dangerous and sharp looking.




BLACK PSIONIC-CLASS GEAR
- Psionic Class gear catches, amplifies and assists mental signals between rider and dragon and boosts mental powers for the Dragon and Rider. This Class can also decrease mental abilities and draconium energy in opponents as well and feed it back to you.


BLACK PSI GEAR (used by dragon and rider) - PSI gear of most levels consists of head-gear for the dragon and some minor head-connecting pieces for the rider. With some antennae and netting like-projections, an example of this would be the black remote-dragon control gear on the Wraith Dragons which looks like a dragonized version of Word Paynn's crown.

BLACK MIND POD (used on the rider) - A saddle pod that allows a remote operator to control and effect the rider of the dragon and in some cases completely take them over.

BLACK NEURAL GEAR (used on both dragon and rider EP-28) - A spiked mesh of metal fibers and electrodes, neural gear is an evolutionary step in gear development. It helps tune mental signals between dragon and rider so that their thoughts align. In a sense, it's like telepathy gear only not nearly that strong. In reality, it basically accelerates understanding of control maneuvers between dragon and rider allowing for quicker combined reaction time.




BLACK DOMINATION-CLASS GEAR
(Used on dragon) - "If you are in control, you have the power" is the motto of this Class of gear. This gear is about controlling different parts of your Dragon, or even controlling and stopping opposing Dragons.


BLACK CONTROL GEAR (Used on the dragon) - Mostly found on leg and shoulder and hip joints, this gear resembles an exo-skeleton of sorts as it is designed to enhance control input messages to fast twitch muscles giving you more control over the dragon's actions. The gear can also be thrown onto another dragon and used to make a dragon submit, bow or generally do whatever you wish whether the dragon wants to or not.

BLACK MAG CABLES (Used against dragons or riders) - Fired onto dragons, these cables mag on and drain more and more energy, the more a dragon or human struggles. They can be then collected from their weakened victims and the energy transferred to your own dragon.




BLACK DECEPTION-CLASS GEAR
- Deception gear is all about camouflage, intimidation and fear. The idea behind this is that if your opponent doesn't know the truth, you have the advantage.


BLACK SHADOW GEAR (Used on dragon and rider) - Resembling angled plates and frightening and sharp shapes, most shadow gear goes anywhere on a black dragon and makes him look more dangerous and fierce. More important, some black shadow gear like the netting over the bodies of shadow dragons, can deflect and bend light, making the dragon hard to see in certain conditions, impossible to see in others, and also can visually trick surrounding competitors into thinking that the black dragon is bigger, smaller, closer of further away or even not there at all.

BLACK MIND CLOUD GRENADES (Used against dragons and riders) - Can be thrown or fired, these canisters explode a cloud of mind numbing black draconium with causes temporary blindness and panic.

BLACK JAKK BOXES - (Used against dragon and rider EP-8 "All is not Lost") - These benign looking jakk-projectors, when thrown from your dragon or placed along roads, can tap into surrounding buildings and turn them into giant screens to project fake routes, attackers or trick opponents into thinking you've run off.




BLACK ATTACK-CLASS GEAR
- This gear is all about decisive and fear-inspiring attack and energy drain. Strong and powerful, black attack gear also makes a lot of noise and flashes with brilliant and frightening light before taking away your will and your energy.


BLACK ENERGY DRAIN WHIP (Used by rider) - Moordryd Paynn's favorite, this grapple whip attaches to other dragon's gear and saps power at an alarming rate, bringing it back to Moordryd's dragon, Decepshun.

BLACK OVERLOAD POD (Used by rider) - This small electronics package can be fired or thrown onto another dragon's gear and causes an overload of the dragon's energy. At overload, the gear explodes, keeping it a secret and temporarily knocks out an opposing dragons gear.

RED DRACONIUM DRAGONS AND GEAR

Red dragons are creatures of bonding, passion and fire. They are a great compliment to an accomplished rider but can help the less experienced one quickly let things get out of hand. These MAGMA-CLASS dragons are fast, harsh, and ready to attack but also quickly form bonds of loyalty.

OVERALL GEAR FUNCTION AND DESCRIPTION

Red draconium gear because if its natural ability to store and release heat, makes for excellent quick use, advantage gear. Also, because of this heated quality, red draconium gear can also store heat to repair broken gear of all colors.



Red gear is sleek, rounded and has lots of texture for holding and channeling heat.




RED FORGE-CLASS GEAR
- This Class of gear utilizes the power of heat in order to give the Dragon or rider extra power or defense in battle. It works off stored dragon heat but in a portable sense.


RED FORGING GEAR (Used by rider) - Stored in or near the saddle, this gear stores dragon heat and usually some form of ignitable red draconium, a magnesium-like alloy of red which can fuse, cut or even melt other gear. A great example of this is Pyrrah's Fire Axe!

RED REPAIR GEAR (Used by rider) - a more benign version of this gear, repair gear is a small putty tool, attached glove and a small store of molten draconium that can be used for temporary patches in a dragon's gear.






RED COMBUSTION-CLASS GEAR
- This gear type also stores dragon body heat but is in direct contact with the dragon's body and therefore vastly more powerful than Forge Class Gear. Versions of this gear class vent off dragon heat for maneuvering bursts or to be directed as damaging heat blows to another dragon.


RED HEAT WAVE GEAR (Used by dragon) - A system of concentric rings around a dragon's body that like a rail gun, send an amplified shockwave of super-heated air forward to be fired off to stun other dragons, destroy obstacles or set up heat barriers.

RED FIRE BALL GEAR (Used by dragon) - consists of small projectile launchers that fire super-heated glowing draconium pellets to break through gear and obstacles.

RED THRUSTER GEAR - (Used by dragon) Giant turbine pods that can direct stored heat like a rocket blast for bursts of incredible speed, lift, stopping and defense.

RED SIDE VENTING GEAR - (Used by dragon) Smaller versions of thruster gear which line the sides of a dragon and give short bursts of power for precise maneuvering.

RED FIRE GRENADES - (Used by rider) A pack of explosive red draconium dust that when thrown, creates a short lived but nearly impenetrable wall of flame.

RED FIRE SPIKE GEAR - (Used by Dragon) - For certain defensive situations, Fire Spike Gear is a perfect choice. Consisting of a tube-like net of heat collectors that traverse a dragon's body, each tube is vented in several directions allowing you to fire a burst of heat making the dragon and rider appear like a flaming porcupine. It keeps or literally blows everybody away from you for a few seconds.




RED STORAGE-CLASS GEAR
- is gear designed to collect heat for strictly racing purposes. Fitting across the body of the dragon, this gear is akin to ceramics or Kevlar and while great under fire, not so powerful under pressure.


RED HEAT ARMOR - (Used by dragon or rider) This gear fits mostly on the head and sides of the dragon. It is a low-impact, high heat resistant body armor that can deflect reasonable blows but can resist heat and add heat storing power to be used with venting and speed gear.

RED SPEED GEAR (Used by dragon) - Is airfoil gear designed to use stored dragon heat and very quickly auto adjust to race maneuvers. Like it's white aero gear cousin, only more powerful and instantly responsive.


RED MUSCLE BALANCE GEAR (used on the dragon) - This body sensory gear is primarily used to detect where a dragon's muscles are overheating and where they are colder. When the sensors activate, heated armor pads slide from zap cap to zap cap transferring heat and balancing dragon energy and physiology, helping to maximize both endurance and strength.

GREEN DRACONIUM DRAGONS AND GEAR

Green dragons are a massively powerful lot and they are hard to control and master. They respond best to the brute force or incredible will of a rider. Green BULL-CLASS dragons move slowly and no amount of speed or maneuvering gear short of Red Thruster Gear can substantially help that. They are best at bashing through obstacles or dragging and pushing other competitors around the track. These stubborn creatures don't mesh well with other dragons or gear types but, they don't really need the help either.

OVERALL GEAR FUNCTION AND DESCRIPTION

Green gear is all about the enhancement and assisting of force. Wrestling, grappling, ramming and towing is what these mighty dragons and gear are used for.



Green gear is bulky, with lots of contact surface and leverage points.




GREEN CONTROL-CLASS GEAR
- Like the name implies, this gear helps dragon and rider use strength and leverage to master or subdue and opponent. This Class of Gear focuses on attaching, grabbing, and grappling onto other objects, buildings, or even Riders and Dragons!


GREEN TOWING GEAR (Used by dragon) - Towing gear consists of heavy-use lasso ropes and tethers fired from dragon back or from rider and hooked into catch points on the dragon. Mostly situated on the shoulders and hips of the dragon, towing gear helps a dragon and rider pull competitors off the track or helps to pull obstacles onto the track and in the way of others.



GREEN RAMMING GEAR (Used by dragon) - Worn about the head and shoulders of the, this gear is used to go through objects or to 'spring' out to further increase the force of body blows. It often employs a mag-bursted mace ball of sorts to deliver repeated blows in multiple directions.

GREEN TAIL HAMMER (Used by dragon) - A common accessory to Bashing Gear, this heavy hammer-like piece of gear goes on the dragon's tail and delivers massive amounts of damage.

GREEN MAG COLLECTION GEAR (used by dragon) - This body armor-like gear might slow your dragon down but it's ability to hold and prevent mag energy "bleed" nearly doubles your dragon's endurance.

GREEN JACKHAMMER GEAR (Used by Dragon) - These side-mounted pneumatic bashing arms fire off to the left and right of your dragon delivering massive lateral force and blows to nearby opponents. They can also be extended and pivoted forward to join with bashing gear and help crumble front on obstacles to dust.

GREEN CHARGING GEAR (Used by Dragon) - This powerful body armor is all about going through and not around things. Enough said!

GREEN STABILITY GEAR (Used by Dragon) - This gear fires huge tether hooks and counter balances into surrounding structures and the track for short-term traction and balance. It can slow you down but man will you be hard to move off course!




GREEN HOBBLE-CLASS GEAR
- These powerful gear types are designed to trap, hold and stop another dragon and rider in their tracks. Some of them use inordinate amounts of energy that directly proportional to the effects of their use.


GREEN SUBDUE GEAR (Used by rider) - These boomerang like dragon hobbles are fired at the feet of other dragons, locking them down and causing a crash. The gear then mags back to you to use again.

GREEN TRAPPING GEAR (Used by rider) Fire this gear at your opponent and set up a tethered barrier that can't be broken. Great for hand to hand street fights too.

GREEN ANTI-MAG GRENADE (Used by rider) - The strength of green draconium allows you to use a cloud of it to set up a barrier of dust that can temporarily disperse a mag burst. Very effective when trying to bring down an angry dragon.

GREEN MAG CANNON (Used by dragon) - The most offensive and powerful weapon in the green draconium arsenal, this head mounted draconium energy gun uses enormous amounts of energy but delivers a mag pulse akin to a particle weapon!

GREEN ANCHOR GEAR (used against dragon) - Some dragons are far too powerful or big to be brought down by simple subdue or trapping gear and when that happens, this is the gear to use. Like the harpoons and buoys that bring down sharks and whales, these spiked mag lines fire into another dragon's gear and release claws into the ground or nearby structures, slowly dragging the beast to a stop.

BLUE DRACONIUM DRAGONS AND GEAR

Blue ENERGY-CLASS dragons are precise, controlled, lightning fast and acrobatic. They work best with experienced riders who have discipline and skill but because they are so well trained, they make excellent law enforcement dragons and are the perfect partner for younger inexperienced riders who need a dragon to help train and protect them.

OVERALL GEAR FUNCTION AND DESCRIPTION

These martial artists of the dragon world are all about speed and balance and so is their gear. Blue draconium gear for both rider and dragon is mostly used to enhance the natural abilities of both dragon and rider rather than to add any specific power.



Blue gear is fluid, artful and ornate.




BLUE ENHANCEMENT-CLASS GEAR
- Gear in this Class primarily enhances the abilities that the Dragon and Rider already have. These gear types usually don't add any new abilities because they focus on magnifying what you can do. The better and more trained the Rider and Dragon are, the more power they receive from this Gear.



BLUE SPEED GEAR (Used by dragon and rider)

This very graceful set of airfoils is mostly found on the back of both dragon and rider and dragon tail. Not large by any means but very ancient in form and structure, this gear looks more decorative but it adds precise and balanced aerodynamics.


BLUE AGILITY ASSIST GEAR (Used by dragon) - Like flexible carbon exo-bones, this gear is designed like light bracing to keep joints and limbs more stable in extreme maneuvers.




BLUE ACTION-CLASS GEAR
- Action class gear is just as the name implies, it's designed to assist and add power and control to carefully considered race and battle choices. The idea of the gear is to respond to your needs without adding to your thought or work load.


BLUE BALANCE GEAR (Used by dragon and rider) - A great collection of wired counter weights and plates that fit dragon head, shoulder, side and tail, balance gear has two great functions; The first is to help the dragon on turns and through obstacles by allowing dragon and rider to lean into maneuvers at more extreme angles than usual. It also helps when air-born to correct trajectory and balance. One of the best uses of balance gear though is in combat as it helps dragon and rider turn the force of attacks into energy for speed and maneuvering. Sometimes it's better to bounce away than to fight back. This includes Khatah's graceful grav-stick that is weighted for him to move around the dragon's body subtly affecting balance.

BLUE TURNING GEAR (Used by rider) - Turning gear consists mostly of short grapple-hook lines that the rider fires into passing buildings or objects to help tighten maneuvers.

BLUE MAG CONTACT GEAR (Worn by rider) - These graceful mag pads get positioned around the body of only the most experienced mag jumper. It allows you to separate and switch positions on a single mag beam from your dragon, making you more precise and maneuverable in the air.




BLUE CONFLICT-CLASS GEAR
- While fighting is always an option to those of the INNER ORDER, it is always a last resort. This gear is designed to enhance your ability to defend and counter attack or downright kick butt.


BLUE DRAGON STAR GEAR (Used by rider) - These stylized pods fire deadly shuriken style projectiles designed to shred gear and cut tethering and trapping lines.

BLUE ABSORPTION ARMOR (used by dragon) - These aerodynamic flip up plates are designed to dampen mag blasts and spread the energy out in such a way that it actually drains more from the attacker.

BLUE KHATA GEAR (Used by rider and dragon) - This collection of small dragon-body gear pods add "mag step plates" all over the dragon's body for more efficient martial arts battle without the energy drain of a full-on mag lift!

BLUE ENERGY BOLT GEAR (Used by dragon) - These forward seated draconium "channels" allow your dragon to focus mag energy from his head into a fine-pulsed wave, which can break gear, disrupt energy fields and blow through lesser obstacles.



THE ARMY OF THE DRAGON CREW



PURPLE DRACONIUM DRAGONS AND GEAR

Purple PACK-CLASS dragons are smaller and quicker than most dragons. Used to operating in groups, they do not do as well alone and therefore are not generally great single racers. They prefer a communal setting and are used to a relationship that requires that their riders be the alpha-male in a group of both dragons and riders. Great for hunting, they are not independent thinkers and do not really add team value to their rider. However, their gear is another story as its control, trapping and hunting uses make the group as a whole, very dangerous.

OVERALL GEAR FUNCTION AND DESCRIPTION

Used for hunting and tracking, purple dragon gear is designed for herding, teaming, tricking and following. This gear is especially useful to help smaller, weaker dragons team with others in group races to track and deceive competitors.



Purple gear is small, spiky and loosely form-fitting and can include smaller dragons.




PURPLE PACK-CLASS GEAR
- Team Class gear enables you to overcome opposition and challenge with the notion of strength in numbers. Team gear is all about combining or sharing dragon powers to overcome superior odds.


PURPLE TANDEM GEAR (Used by dragon) - These gear pods ENERGY - attach dragons together using small conductive lines. In the race-battle setting, tandem gear allows a group of dragons to share power or surround and commandeer another dragon and use them for extra speed or to steal energy from.

PURPLE MAG CELLS (used by rider) - These devices store draconium energy and can be tossed to team-mates to act like battery packs to enhance the power of their dragons. You can also fill them with stolen energy to keep or share.

PURPLE SIGNAL GEAR (used by dragon and rider) - Signal gear are like the running lights on aircraft and boats. The only difference is that they can only be seen by like colored dragons or using special visor gear. They can transmit positions or special codes when speaking aloud over a distance is not an option.




PURPLE DISABLE-CLASS GEAR
- This gear as the name says, is for bringing down opposing dragons and other quarry. Since The Army of the Dragon are natural hunters, this gear is all about taking down adversaries for quick trapping.


PURPLE TRAPPING GEAR (Used by dragon and rider) - Trapping gear is the dragon-mounted bolo launchers that tangle and trip dragons either alone or together.

PURPLE GLUE GEAR (Used by rider) - A favorite of Dragon City Security, these hand held devices coat the road with a goo that the more you step in it, the more it sticks.

PURPLE DISRUPTOR MINES (Used by rider) - These treacherous devices can be planted anywhere and react to draconium by blasting the air with a mist of purple draconium dust that causes total confusion and blackout. If a direct hit, they can cause your dragon to eject you.




PURPLE HUNTER-CLASS GEAR
- Like the tools of the honed predator, this gear made from reactive draconium or employing small scavenger dragons, means there is no escape for your victim.


PURPLE MARKING GEAR (Used by dragon and rider) - Tracking gear consists of purple draconium tags and pads that can be fired onto another dragon and guide you to him by draconium energy. This can be used to keep track of all other dragons in a race and strategize with you team in secret.

PURPLE TRACKING GEAR (Used by dragon and rider) - takes the form of smaller body mounted dragons that ride along with you and jump off to follow your quarry and scout ahead, communicating with your dragon or your team-mates.


PURPLE PENNING GEAR (Used by rider) - Think of penning gear as designed for trickery and entrapment. This gear consists of the PENNING PRONGS that you fire into the ground in front of dragons to guide them into traps or stun and scare them while you attack or escape.



PURPLE DECOY GEAR (Used by rider on tracking gear dragons) - These small electronics packages are placed on tracking dragons which follow your quarry and study it, recording sounds and movement to use as a decoy later on.



THE WILL OF THE DRAGON CREW



BROWN DRACONIUM DRAGONS AND GEAR

The brown EARTH-CLASS dragon was originally bred for digging and demolishing and this dragon can do all of that and more but not without good reason. This old breed is very smart and won't necessarily do what you want unless he agrees with you. Once on your side, these steady, thoughtful and powerful dragons are very destructive. When crossed, they can go out of control in a judgmental frenzy.

OVERALL GEAR FUNCTION AND DESCRIPTION

Primary uses for tunneling, construction and demolishing, brown draconium gear runs the gamut from tearing things down and moving through terrain to holding ground.



Brown gear is thick and sharp with lots of projections.



BROWN DEMOLITION-CLASS GEAR - This class of earthen gear is made to help you go through any obstacle you come across. Originally used for building construction in Dragon City, the gear in this class has very potent battle and competition uses.

BROWN BASHING GEAR (Used by dragon and rider) - Like a series of clubs, axes and battering rams coming off your dragon and you from any angle. Bashing gear turns just about any surface into a weapon and is extra draconium-energy absorbing when used to attack AFTER attacked.

BROWN EXCAVATION GEAR (used by dragon) - The Earth Class dragon is already and excellent digger and cutter but this gear makes it all the more powerful. This gear lowers from the head and shoulder of the dragon and provides very dangerous serrated edges that can rip through just about any obstacle!

BROWN PILEDRIVER GEAR (Used by Dragon) - Just as the name implies, this gear slides into position near the legs of your dragon and when activated pound down with such force that the very ground is shaken, sending adversaries tumbling and obstacles crumbling. It can also be used to launch these very heavy brown earth class dragons several feet skyward for certain maneuvers.




BROWN STABILITY-CLASS GEAR
- Often, it's best to keep your feet firmly on the ground and this gear is all about contact, leverage and digging in for battle.


BROWN ENTRENCHING GEAR (Used by dragon) - Think of this gear like the steadying hydraulics on large cranes. This gear is like an extra pair of legs, only legs with huge claws that add mounds of extra stability when holding ground to grapple or push.

BROWN ALL TERRAIN GEAR (Used by dragon) - This is gear for the feet of your dragon, mostly called traction claws, this gear allows your dragon to dig into any surface, (depending on gear level) and make sharp maneuvers and climb building sides in race turns.

BROWN PHALANX GEAR (Used by dragons and riders) - Like the locking shield techniques of the ancient Romans, this plated gear flies forward and locks with the gear from other dragons or riders turning you into a moving wall of destruction.




BROWN PROTECTION-CLASS GEAR
- Sometimes its best to stay safe, even if it slows you down. And if you want to stay safe, nothing's better than gear in the Brown Protection Class. It may be big and bulky, but you definitely aren't getting hurt anytime soon.


BROWN BATTLE ARMOR (Used by dragon and rider)- Located anywhere on the body of dragon and rider, what this plated gear removes in speed it makes up for in ability to dish out and withstand blows. It is energy absorbing so your brown armor when used on the appropriate dragon type can help you absorb energy from attackers.

BROWN GUARDIAN GEAR (used by dragon) - Special gear that molds to fit over any gear on your Dragon. While it's covering your gear, you can't use it but it's not going to get damaged or destroyed either!













THE PROPHETS CREW



ORANGE DRACONIUM DRAGONS AND GEAR

Beware the orange CONTROL-CLASS dragon as they are one of the most intelligent and vengeful of al dragons. They do not let humans ride them so much as they enslave humans to help them race and battle. Secretly, the orange dragon is waiting for a chance to start a war with humans but for now they take pleasure in messing in human affairs with their nihilist riders and highly destructive gear. ORANGE SABOTAGE-CLASS GEAR

This incredibly destructive gear focuses on disrupting, foiling, and stopping your adversary's plans in his tracks and is even dangerous for you if you're not far enough away.


ORANGE DRAG-BOX - (fired by dragon or rider) this depth charge of small gear eating dragons can be ejected from dragon back where the box opens and the trailing dragons are attacked. If used too close, you can have your own gear munched on.

ORANGE MAG-BURST GRENADE (fired by dragon or rider) - A highly destructive gear pod which fits at any bone-node, stores unstable orange draconium magnetism and fires off onto another dragon causing a huge spontaneous mag burst to blow gear off itself and other dragons. If your dragon is weak at the time, you'll lose gear yourself too.

ORANGE IMPLOSION GEAR (Used by dragon) - One of the most dangerous pieces of gear on the street; sleek and insidious head-mounted implosion gear fires small charged orange draconium dust filled projectiles into opponent's gear. The unstable dust gets into the gear's inner workings causing the gear to fry from within and literally self-destruct.




ORANGE CHAOS-CLASS GEAR
- This gear comes in two distinct configurations. First it is designed to unleash nearly uncontrollable destruction and second, to create massive confusion.


ORANGE MAGLIFYING GEAR (used by dragon) - It is mostly amplification devices that build up tremendously unstable amounts of draconium energy by tuning surrounding orange dragons to the same energy signature. The result is the highly terrifying group mag-burst that can blow all of the attackers down too!

ORANGE CHAFF GEAR (Used by dragon and rider) - Think of this gear as working like the countermeasures on a fighter jet. Consisting of tubes that fire a cloud of orange dust, This gear makes a target dragon and rider temporarily unable to work together or makes their mag-burst ineffective. It has also been known to cause spontaneous riots on the track.

ORANGE DEFLECTION PLATES (used by dragon) Also very dangerous gear because it creates a mag infused chain reaction to attacks. If the attack is huge, this one-use gear is properly deployed can turn an attack into wholesale destruction!

ORANGE MIND POD (used on dragon or rider) - Used to cause panic or to create diversions, this short use gear self-destructs to leave no traces but not before temporarily turning a dragon or rider into a tangled mess of confusion and craziness. LIGHT GREEN DEFLECTION ARMOR (Used by dragon and rider) - Place this slippery looking gear on the head, sides and tail of your dragon and become a dangerous to hit target. Not the strongest gear by any measure but it requires a direct hit to be broken and is quite destabilizing to the attacker when hit by a glancing blow.

LIGHT GREEN SIGNAL DIVERTER (used on an opponent's saddle) - Fire this puppy into your opponent's saddle and watch the fun begin. It effectively crosses the controls so turning left means right or deploying one gear actually fires another.

- Your enemies can't hit what they can't find, and this gear helps to make sure you stay missing. While not necessarily making you invisible to deceive or trick your adversaries, these gear types make sure that you are like the Dragon Ninja: Never seen, never heard.


LIGHT GREEN ESCAPE GEAR (Used by dragon) - This gear goes on the dragon's hind area and tail and ejects light green draconium dust which bends light making it appear as if you and your dragon are headed in another direction or just plain not there.

LIGHT GREEN SILENCING GEAR (Used by dragon and rider)- Anywhere on the body of dragon and rider, this gear is baffled and covered with grooves and cuts that eliminate sound and disperse light. It also consists of energy and sound absorbing foot pads for you and your dragon.

The NAUTILUS-CLASS dragon is the hardest dragon type to pin down. They are once fluid and graceful yet hardened and rigid. It requires a mentally alert, flexible and nimble rider to handle the NAUTILUS-CLASS but once you do, you have a fast, dangerous and cunning dragon that is as skilled at attack as it is defense.

Stun gear on the front of the dragon consists of gun like pods that fire small electric star-fish like mini dragons that deliver a sharp draconium energy disrupting jolt to both rider and gear.

LIGHT BLUE TRACTION GEAR (Used by dragon) - Unlike the tough surface traction gear of brown draconium that literally digs into surfaces, this gear acts like pneumatic suction cups on your dragon's feet and your hands to almost defy gravity especially on smooth surfaces where other dragons can't easily follow. This dragon is all about adventure and fun and in many ways; the SKY-CLASS is the most fun to ride. Just make sure you're up for just about anything because even if you're not, your dragon is.

- Some people love the wind whisking through their hair, the feeling of being off the ground and the feeling of no boundaries, and the gear in this Class are made just for that cause. Gear in this Class is also made mostly for use while the Dragon is already in the air but ads race/battle functions on the ground.


WHITE AERO GEAR (Used by dragon and rider)- This gear is found mostly on the upper and side body of the dragon and looks like wings. It allows for basic aerial maneuvers during battle runs and greatly extends gliding distances.

WHITE STABILIZER GEAR (Used by dragon and rider) - If gliding gear looks like wings, airfoil gear looks like the vertical stabilizers on aircraft and the tail wings on cars and bikes. This mostly head and tail gear can be used for precise maneuvering and braking by storing some of the air passing over it an using the pneumatic pressure to change direction under the rider's control. Great for aerial moves and extra ground control.

WHITE CHUTE GEAR (used by dragon) This immense sheet of woven draconium is deployed as a last resort when falling from an extreme jump or used to slow you down and avoid a crash like the parachute on the back of a dragster.

TURQUOISE SONIC-CLASS GEAR
- Sound is a great tool and a great weapon and the focus of the gear in this class, and these gears can manipulate it well. Also used to help dragons communicate and to amplify speakers for concerts and stadiums, gear in the Turquoise Sonic Class can do more things than just be loud.


TURQUOISE AMPLIFYING GEAR (Used by dragon) - This gear fits on the head of the dragon and allows him to send 'masked' vocalizations across great distances. When in a tandem race and battle scenario, this can be really helpful or of desired, painfully loud as in VOCIFEROUS' Sonic Boomerang.

TURQUOISE SHOCKWAVE GEAR (used by dragon) - Consisting of drum-like membranous sound "Catchers", your dragon uses precisely tuned draconium energy pulses to move the catchers and build up a destructive shockwave of sonic power. A few of my own comments:

You know it just occurred to me from reading this is that the name for the Jakk gear is probably a nob to their toy manufacturer Jakks Pacific.

And now we finally know why the black draconium dragons are referred to as psi-class: they can make some degree of mental connections with their riders. I wonder if that explains why Coershun was so freaked out by the newt at the end of "Faster than Fear". Maybe he picked up and tuned in on Cain's fear and empathized with it too much.

And in the category of which dragon class I'd like to ride... the descriptions of the red and white dragons appeal to me the most. I think I'll take one of each. :)

I like the sound of the blue and white gear types. I'm a bit of an acrobat, meaning I can do minor acrobatic stuff. VERY minor, and I'm a bit out of practice, but it's a lot of fun once you can do it.
I particularly like the sound of the agility assist gear. That would help a whole lot with acro, imagine how long you could hold a hand-stand with a bit of stabilization! Hey, do you think the DB armour has some integrated into it? That would explain why he can glide and stuff so easily without his arms and legs going everywhere. I can tell you from experience, it's not so easy getting your arms and legs to do what you want in the air.

Maybe not "integrated" per se, but pure draconium was said by Connor to have near magically abilities, which is apparently where Beau gets all his powers. So I would imagine that Artha's DB suit has all sorts of abilities that even Artha is unaware of as of yet.

I would assume so. Moordryd's Shadow Booster armor appears to greatly enhance his Mag Claw fighting abilities. The other booster armors are likely to have special abilities that parallel the color of draconium they are made of, since the other colors tend to be more specialized and less versatile than Gold. The abilites will probably be more obvious and easy to figure out than those of the Dragon Booster armor, but probably less powerful.

What about the thing that Khatah has. The blocking staff that sort of looks like a sword, do you know the real name of it. I call it a Mag Sword, but I am just guessing.

I don't recall Khatah having anything other than a normal blocking staff. Can you specify the episode and scene where you saw it?

In the Horn of Libris if you look really closely when he draws back his arm a short metal rod comes out. When he is about to hit the target. A better view is when he is fighting Moordryd near the very end of the show. You can see (or at lest I did) Khatah do a downward slash on Moordryd's blocking staff.
