Title: Class?
Description: What does a "_____ class dragon" mean?
silverfang - April 12, 2007 03:34 PM (GMT)
i was looking up DB on the web and noticed that many dragons are mentioned as being part of a class. for example, cyrano is a "bull-class dragon". what exactly defines a class?

It just seems to be a way of describing a colour. Red dragons are Lava-class, Blue Energy-class, Brown Earth-class and so on. The class name relates to some quality of that draconium influence.

Yeah, class is apparently just another way to describe the specialization for each of the draconium colors. Earth Class dragons are diggers, Bull Class dragons are built for strength, Sky Class dragons are said to be gravity defying (I guess they like to jump and soar with the aero gear), and so on. It's sort of like saying that German Shepherds are Guard Class dogs. :)

It also has to do with their physical characteristics. (Psi-class dragons are sleek and thin. Bull-class dragons have hooves and heavy-set frames. Magma-class dragons are high-speed bipeds.) And also to a lesser extent, their temperments. (Connor once said that Psi-class dragons "Have a mind of their own" and don't respect their riders.)

i think it also has to do with how easy it is to controll your dragon. like psycic class dragons are some of dragons that are really hard to controll.
** said so in eye of the dragon**

What does Naut... Nuat... Na... Gah! *looks up the word* Nautilus! There, that's it. What does that mean, exactly? I kind of understand the others, it's just that this one has me completely stumped... :plot:

Nautilus was the name of Cpt. Nemo's sub in 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea. It's from the greek word for ocean. That's why it makes sense that the Dragon Fish crew would use Nautilus-Class Dragons.
The Furox - April 24, 2007 06:23 AM (GMT)
A nautilus is also a mollusk with a spiral shell. My dictionary says the Greek word "nautilos" which it comes from means "sailor". But whether it's ocean or sailor, it's clear meant as a reference to the sea. I guess light blue dragons like to swim. :) I'm sure it's meant to come from the Greek word since I doubt the Jules Verne book exists on their planet. :D

No one really knows. That was my question to the Magna Draconis recently. If you really want to know, do me a favor and h4xx0r the lottery so that my question gets asked.

I'm guessing he's a Star-class dragon...

There are fables that mention ancient Star Dragons, but that is a reference to the shape of their bonemark. Tyrannis Pax also appears to be a Gold-Bone dragon, but he looks nothing like Beau. My theory is the gold dragons are just as versatile as the gold draconium in them and can come in a multitude of classes.

That's one of best theories I've ever heard!

Well when the next Ask the Magna Draconis session comes up Im going to ask for a complete list of classes. Tyrannis Pax is listed as a Blue Draconium influenced dragon though the color diff could be the mutation showing up. Ya know from becoming Academy Elite class reacers. Guess what!! Hydrags Are Nautilus class dragons!!!! In the Ask the Magna draconis section under dragonology it says that the Dragon fish crew keeps and rides Hydrags so that means theyre Blue!! Though if you take a good look at the Hydrags they sure dont seem to be very precision oriented. Hey! That means the Samurox would work on a Hydrag! Drac! I wonder what that would look like?

500th post!
