Title: Saving Db
Description: Can we do it?

BlueBooster - April 11, 2007 07:39 AM (GMT)
Ive noticed we got 4088 signatures on the petition ^^ do you think if we got more and more signatures that would save DB? ;)

Rivit - April 11, 2007 10:31 AM (GMT)
I don't think signing-in a e-petition will make some change.! Yet I signed one coz I'm ready to do anything and everything possible to get DB aired.

BlueBooster - April 11, 2007 12:08 PM (GMT)
yesh iam also willing to do anything to save DB

silverfang - April 11, 2007 12:14 PM (GMT)
if anyone's got some new ideas i'm open to suggestions.

BlueBooster - April 11, 2007 12:22 PM (GMT)
find someone to make dragon plushies *squees*

silverfang - April 11, 2007 03:08 PM (GMT)
what are the chances that they are keeping it in the dark so that they could get an even larger audience. like a publicity stunt.[COLOR=blue] :plot:

The Furox - April 11, 2007 03:59 PM (GMT)
Nah, it's not a publicity stunt. The people who make the show would have told us if more episodes had been ordered.

The best thing to do beyond getting everyone you know to sign the petition is to write letters to the networks.

Rivit - April 11, 2007 04:04 PM (GMT)
I think Jetix had given up on dragon booster. Yet I persist posting my letters...!! I'm afraid that we may never see another dragon booster episode in our life...*Crying Loudly*

The Hydrag - April 12, 2007 01:53 AM (GMT)
I think that there is still hope but its not going to be easy. If nothing else I think that the eppisodes that are allready written may get posted so in the worst case scenario we may just have to watch the eppisodes in our mind as we read them.
Just keep those letters going!

Draconium - April 12, 2007 04:36 AM (GMT)
i tought we already exceded the amount of signatures needed

Don't give up yet, Rivit! Have faith! :flare: Even if the situation is unfavourable, don't give up on hope yet. As long as there's hope, there's a chance the show will return, one way or another.

And I'm not giving up yet either. As long as there's no news of the show being cancelled, I'll never lose my faith and belief. Not now, not ever! :gblast:

I'll believe till the end! :grip:

Natalilly - April 12, 2007 09:41 AM (GMT)
I don't know, i did question to myself how much a petition would do.
I remember John K writing an article (John Kricfalusi- created Ren and Stimpy) about cartoon executives and how they're a load of accountants who seem to all hate cartoons.
AND there was a recent article in an animator's mag from an executive, proudly proclaiming how little he had to do with the creaton of the toons, and how little he cared.

Basically toon executives on a whole wouldn't care if we committed mass suicide in protest, they care about profit. We can hope the Jetix team are different *pffft!* or harass the networks, as Furox suggested.

The Hydrag - April 13, 2007 12:04 AM (GMT)
HARASS! HARASS! HARASS! MWAHAHAHA!!! Its not over untill the fat lady sings.

Draconium - April 13, 2007 12:40 AM (GMT)
so what can we do, what about the letter

dolphinliss - April 13, 2007 01:24 AM (GMT)

Mari - April 13, 2007 11:49 PM (GMT)
I shall start working on plushie plans! I'm really good at sewing, and I'll post any patterns that I make. ;)

Still, if we manage to convince the networks that Dragon Booster IS a profitable indorcement, then they may buy more episodes in order to make more money. If the network feels that it can't make money off of a show, then it gets cancelled when they don't buy more episodes. :faint:

I think that in addition to the 4000+ signatures, we ought to have logical arguments regarding how profitable Dragon Booster will be for the networks. :plot:

Plushies! Wow, I wonder how Beau would look like as a plushie, wow, even cuter than before!

dolphinliss - April 14, 2007 12:50 AM (GMT)
it has been my dream to make or get a Beau plushie. I swear over the survival of dragon booster that i will create a Beau plushie, even if it...uhh, well you get he point :D

Salazaar - April 14, 2007 01:16 AM (GMT)
Ooo, my grandma has lots of fabrics at her house and me and my cousin make little stuffed dragons all the time! I've never made a Beau plushie before but that would be so cool if I could make them!! I'm not the best sewer, I'll admit, but I think plushies would really help. I love plushies and Beau would be so cute as a plushie!

Yeah, that make sense. We need profitible facts!! :eep:
I think the toys need to become more available. I have 4 but they were kindda hard to get.

http://z10.invisionfree.com/Dragon_Booster...?showtopic=1714

I have a topic for a country count. I'd like to encourage everybody to post there, because it adds data to my argument.

I'm making a list of what countries air DB and how many members on this board alone are from those countries.

It makes for a good argument to say that DB is one of the most international cartoons: it's in Asia, Australia, South America, North America and Europe! All 7 continents, bar Antarctica, which doesn't count. And, if it's been translated into as many languages as I think (Polish, English, Spanish, French) then it has to bring in some revenue! It takes money to translate an entire series and so many countries wouldn't do that if it wasn't a good show.

Airshadow - April 14, 2007 02:05 AM (GMT)
Not sure if I can psot. Jetix is blocked in Mexico in parts wher cablevision and sky are used

Yeah, cute enough that you're willing to hug it for the whole day!

Hopefully the plushie can endure those constant hugging and squeezing. :D

Dragoniade - April 14, 2007 04:11 AM (GMT)
Get McFarlane to create a 'Dragon Booster' series :)

I just spent about 300$ to get a complete series 1-4 of his Dragons series. What I wouldn't give to get a Beau, Beau Legend, Tyrannis Pax or Abandonn figures. Not one of those articulated toys, but a real action figure :)

Natalilly - April 14, 2007 01:31 PM (GMT)
Um, I hate to be the one to step on your plans of convincing a network to continue investment in a cartoon by making plushies but...

It's a completely unfeasable, unworkable and random idea. They make toys of cartoons because the cartoon is popular and the toys will sell and add revenue. Do you have any idea how much money it takes to do a run of toys of any sort? They're not going to fork out that kind of dosh with the obvious lack of faith they have in Dragon Boosters marketability. Merchandice toys makers aren't like authors or musicians. They don't send in samples of their works to prspective toy makers and hope they get accepted. They're like actors and illustrators, they have a good portfolio and get hired for a specific job.

And T-shirts won't do either, at best a few people would buy them and you'd make a bit of money, at worst you'd get sued for selling unauthorized merchandice. You'd be insane to try and give them away. I just did a T-Shirt exhibit at one of our State galleries, and I had to get 60 T-shirts printed for it. it cost me over a thousand dollars, and that was with discount.

Look, the best idea is petitioning and letter writing. A group letter would be great too, coherant arguments- not "It's great!" or "I wanna kno wt hppns 2 Artha!' but honest "I love this cartoon. It's such a unique style and I'm really amazed at how it can appeal to many people." sort of things.

desperada - April 14, 2007 06:30 PM (GMT)
what if we made a movie showing how much we want Dragon Booster to keep going, with maybe our own fan works ??

The Hydrag - April 14, 2007 06:37 PM (GMT)
I dont know if merchandise is the best way to help save DB but I think if theres a way to send a message to Rob Travalino and ask for his oppinion for what we should do then we should do it.

desperada - April 14, 2007 08:54 PM (GMT)

Allye - April 14, 2007 09:38 PM (GMT)
Ok I'm here at my Dad's I'm going to asked him here in a few.... :D

Natalilly - April 15, 2007 08:29 AM (GMT)
You're making the assumption the executives (if said video even makes it past their secretary) will even bother to take it home and pop it in their players. You're also assuming people who see hundreds of short videos a day as they pick and choose what gets funding and what gets cut, will be impressed by a fan made video.

Asking Rob is one of the best ideas I've heard yet, though.

atomicnewt2552 - July 4, 2007 12:31 AM (GMT)
what needs to be done is start a whole campain, gimp sig addons used in every forum we participate in, start writeing letters like crazy, etc. and we can try and get it so maybe they'll continue the series even if noone buys, by continuation through iTunes. mua HA HAH HA MUA.........ummm where was I?

Crystal Wildfyr - August 5, 2007 03:25 AM (GMT)
Why do the crummy shows like... I don't want to put anyone down. but why? Why do good stows stop, and the lousy shows go on into eternity? :( :(
