Title: 'almost Only Counts In Dragon Shoes'
Description: Are you stumped by the meaning?

In Cain's Mutiny, Cain interrupts Moordryd's happy moment when he stopped him from draining DB's suit. Then he goes on to say, "'almost' only counts in dragon shoes."

Now I have no idea what that means, and it's beginning to bug me. Does anyone know what he meant by that?

ya, I never really understood what that meant and thought it was kinda random

You mean you don't get the reference to the game of horseshoes? Horseshoes is generally reputed as the only game where being close to the goal will score points. Hence the famous term "almost only counts in horseshoes", and the extended version "almost only counts in horseshoes and hand grenades". :P

Or do you not get it because dragons don't wear anything resembling horse shoes? Perhaps they do have shoes for dragons when going out in especially rough terrain and we just haven't seen it yet in the show. :)

Con--Let me shut up before I turn this into another treatment of dragons thread.

and the full version is "Close only counts in horseshoes, hand gernades, and thermonuclear war."

OOOOHHHHHH! *duh* I feel like a moron now because I didnt know what that meant.
Besides Nemi Im sure that the shoes are magged on by the dragon like all other gear.

yeah when i watched that episode in the kitchen with my brother and my dad, my bro gave my dad a questioning look about that line and he said horseshoes

and don't forget, some dragons have hooves not claws, so like horses they might wear shoes

My first thought was horse shoes, but I wasn't quite sure. I guess I was thrown off because dragons don't have shoes and don't look like they need shoes, unless, like arrow said, the hoofed dragons do and they play the same version of the game with a different name. :) Anyway, thanks. It makes more sense now.

Yeah, dragon hide seems to be so tough that shoes are probably superfluous. Though there is the sledding gear, so maybe they have some other type of gear for a dragon's feet that they call "shoes" and there's some kind of game you can play with them. Or maybe they have something like those booties that sled dogs wear for extreme weather conditions. Or more likely, it was just a little joke. :)

oh.....................ok (my dad and grandpa love to play horseshoes)

I wonder if we'll ever see any one in DB play dragonshoes.
