Title: Some Sad News
Description: Toon Disney dumped Dragon Booster
artha - March 27, 2007 03:42 PM (GMT)
I did a typical google search on "Dragon Booster Academy" looking for any information about possible new episodes and a little down the list was a link to a jetix time schedule for shows to be airing on Toon Disney.
Down at the bottom of the page was this message about Dragon Booster updated as of Feb 27, 2007:
Series completed
(This series was produced in 2004 in Canada.
"Dragon Booster Academy" never got the go-ahead.)
I can hardly believe it. I wonder though, if Toon Disney isn't renewing the series, was there anyother company interested in doing so? Is there a Canadian television company that can produce and air the series. It's unfortunate that the US corporations provide so much of Canadian entertainment because then we always depend on them and they seem to always let us down.
Well, if anyone has any more updated news to dispute this, please, let's have it! And if you'd like to see for yourself, the address is:

Meanwhile, the power rangers is still goin strong...in my opinion it's a ridiculous and shallow show. Figures.

Yeah, I never understood why Power Rangers was so popular. It has a very narrow target age group, and even when I was in that age range, I don't think I would have liked the show had it been on then. I guess I'm just not in that target audience.
The fact that DB Academy hasn't been picked up by any networks yet is news we already knew here. If you take a look
this thread over here, you'll see that the creators of the show are actively seeking a buyer for seasons 4 & 5. So it's not over yet. Also, the fact that Toon Disney continues to broadcast re-runs means they haven't given up on it yet either. They just haven't ponied up the money for new episodes.
And before you blame US corporations too much, know that while Dragon Booster was created by and is owned by a US company, the actual production of the series happens at Nerd Corps in Vancouver. The CBC was also a financial partner in the production of the first three seasons, and they haven't put up the money for more episodes either.
As long as the creators of the show are actively looking for networks to buy more episodes and haven't given up themselves, then I'm not giving up hope for more episodes either. So it's not over yet.
Welcome to the forum. :)

I refuse to give up!
Today I've send another two letters to the TV stations. It's not over yet!
And welcome to the forum Artha, hope to hear more from you :-)

I really don't know if on-line petition signing would be bothered by someone. I'll also write letters to the stations.
Man, can someone kill all the power rangers and give us a break...??? Jetix is airing toooooooo many power ranger craps.

We need more channel to aire Dragon Booster to begin with.
In Canada, there is only 2 channels: CBC (English) and VRAK TV (French).
Sadly, as far as I know, public televisions have less money to invest in new shows than cabled one.
So, suggest Dragon Booster to Teletoon. If they can support Spider Riders, they should be able to support another Canadian based cartoon.
Suggest a show (Teletoon)I don't know of any URL for YTV though.

whyyyyy?!?! i'm not giving up without a fight. i've already sighned the petition and sent letters to the cable companies. is there anything else we can do to save the show before it's too late?
Dragon Fanatic - April 6, 2007 12:07 AM (GMT)
I felt like crying when I heard this! :( but, thanks to the reassurance of the Furox, I'm not giving up hope! I will keep fighting until Dragon Booster Academy airs! <_< We have to see season 4&5! It's just starting to get even better :plot: ...

Power Rangers were popular because people were suckers for teens who said something, turned into superheroes, get superpowered toys, get the superpowered toys to turn into robots and get the robots to fight evil robots. They probably thought that the deformed villans were interesting too.

because they think that teens in colored tights is more watched than dragons that have increadible, serios power as they and their riders race and battle for their lives. i know, it's stupid. all we can do is keep pounding it into their dragonhide thick skulls that DB is way cooler than PR.
