Title: Console Wars!
Description: In a galaxy far, far away...

So there's the PLAYSTATION 3, the Xbox 360, and the Wii. Which is the best?

Personally, I think the PS3 is pretty much doomed. It's extremly expensive (the cost is apparently $599 US, or $999.95 Australian), it isn't really much of an upgrade from the PS2 (I saw several videos of PS3 games in action, and only two racing games really stood out in terms of improved graphics), there have been multiple screw-ups regarding release and technology, and honestly, who'd shell out all that money to play games, anyway?

I'm going with Nintendo and the Wii. Despite having a very silly name, it's innovative and has GODZILLA UNLEASHED coming out for it (well, it is coming for the PS and DS too, but the Wii version has ONLINE PLAY).

The 360 looks nice, but there aren't any games on it that interest me.

In my opinion, this round of Console War is definately going to Nintendo's Wii.

The Wii console is a really innovative device that's considered unique to me (and everyone else too, I presume? :P ). I mean, really, Wii is the only console that requires gamers to move the controller as part of the gameplay. When was the last time that happened before? :P

I feel that most of the games from Xbox 360 were adopted from the PC platform, just that instead of using mouse and keyboard, we use a controller that performs as both keyboard and mouse. Complicating, huh? :P

I don't think the PS3 is doomed. It was released later than the 360 and the Wii. As for price, it's just a matter of time before it goes down too. Although I'm more familiar with the Playstations, I feel that the PS3 may lose this round to both 360 and Wii, unless their games are much better than their rivals'. :faint:

Well, there's Halo 3 which is perhaps the most famous game on the Xbox console. For me, putting strategy games like C&C 3 and Supreme Commander on a console is going to be challenging since most fans are more familiar with the mouse than the roller on the controller, but I wish gamers who bought those for their 360 luck! ;)

Personly I like the XBox 360 the best and i dont think the wii and the PS3 will do as well in Australia because the XBOX 360 was released first so everybody bought that
But I still think the original XBOX beats the XBOX 360 but thats my opinion

I was involved in the original console wars, which was far more vicious then The Playstation/Xbox/Nintendo one will ever be. I'm also very biased, seeing I was on Nintendo's side ever since we got our first fantastically technical, amazingly cyberaged 8bit NES when i was seven. Ahh, the good old days.

The Wii- a silly name, but damn, you remember it... Has the one advantage over all.
They are Nintendo.
Nintendo know how to work the market, if you were involved int he old console wars you might recognize it at work again. They wait. They wait and see what their competitors are doing. You might recvall how the 64 absolutely steam rolled the Playstation one and the Sega saturn. The 64 had been ready for four years before it's release. But they waited until trheir competitors showed their hand...
They slipped up with the DS, but the results of THAT poll are yet to be really seen... I recall Sega's fantastic handheld and how it thrashed the gameboy... until they all started breaking down and the games got too expensive. lo and behold, gameboy is still selling.
I think they're doing this again, after the luke warm response for the cube.

Nintendo has cultivated cult followings with Mario, Zelda and pokemon (Which I'll add, to those who don't know, they own) which, even in their darkest hour, keeps them alive. They have us, the loyal Nintendo warriors of the eighties and early ninties. And they have some of the hardest games I've ever played, and believe me, it's hard to challange me. I was a year too young to compete int he statewide Nintendo championships at fourteen,b ut I more then cleared the entrance score. (Do you think I was annoyed!)

They will never be killed now.
