Title: G4 Video Game Tv Disses Db!
Description: scale scrapers or what!?!
BlueBooster - February 12, 2007 08:32 PM (GMT)
These people are dissing Dragon Booster!
check out this video on this site:
http://www.g4tv.com/xplay/features/53437/D...ectflash=false&They called Beau a pathetic prehistoric Llama!
and they said artha and the gang are pathetic and
they say Dragon Booster is unpopular which isn't true 0..o
the only funny thing about the video is the quote of body flinging lol
they complained that these dragons don't fly or breathe fire, beau flys and the mag powers make up for the non fire so what *grumbles* stupid girl and dude
:bblast:
they also gave it a 1 out of 5 !
yes the nintendo DS game has bad controls, there sure to make a ps2 game of it if we ask ^^
Sarah Frost - February 12, 2007 10:55 PM (GMT)
Thanks for the link; it made me laugh. ^_^ I think it's a great review. The game screenshots they showed look really awful.
Allye - February 12, 2007 11:21 PM (GMT)
Me and my dad watch that show for new games that come out and for cheat codes ^_^ But thats just plane mean to do that  I serprised D.B. hasent sued :D At least it make Beau and the gang and us feel better :( ^_^
What do you guys think ?
dolphinliss - February 12, 2007 11:36 PM (GMT)
Those people are so stupid. I watched the review and I couldn't stand it! <_<
I have the game and ya its not that great but those people should at least watch the show once before they insult Dragon Booster.
(releases mag-fury on those people)
Sarah Frost - February 12, 2007 11:44 PM (GMT)
They're really not insulting the show, they're just writing about the game and the snippets of show-backstory that made it into the game. It's a funny and well-done review, whether or not one agrees with it. Like they say at the end: fans of the show should probably try to find a better game.
Allye - February 13, 2007 01:09 AM (GMT)
Whe there not insulting D.B. there quite nise exseped for the cusing :bblast: :gblast: But then again it's there job but hey
there going to get a conplante sooner or latter ....
SilverDragon - February 13, 2007 09:02 AM (GMT)
I think 'I FLING myself at you!' has the potential to become a forum meme.
koering - February 13, 2007 03:07 PM (GMT)
yeah definetly.man they are so rude. How are the dragons like lamas?!?! :eep:I mean so what if they can't fly or breath fire!!Not all dragon types are the same!! I thinks these dragons are cool! :D They don't have to like the dragons in the show it isn't a law. But i bet they havent thought of the people that like the show! <_<
Sarah Frost - February 13, 2007 08:10 PM (GMT)
They specifically mentioned the people who liked the show, and said that they should probably spend their money on something else if they actually wanted a good game. I think 'prehistoric llama' was a rather clever description for how some of the dragons looked in the poor graphics of the game.
Kereea - February 13, 2007 10:59 PM (GMT)
Since when is DB an Anime?
And did they have to stess the UNpopular Tv series? this is not helping us save DB folks!
koering - February 14, 2007 12:19 AM (GMT)
and when they said "you can even pimp out your lamas" is really dumb. I mean you would think they would try to even read the instructions on what the gear is ?!?!?
Nayade - February 14, 2007 12:28 AM (GMT)
I also don't like when they said that this game is terrible and the show is unpopular, but we must to be realistic. The game looks bad. Have someone played a games that is difficult to play, had bad graphic and bad story. I do, and is frustrating. Maybe we have to blame the ones who made the game, they ruined the opportunity to make the series more popular.
Kay Yasha - February 14, 2007 06:22 AM (GMT)
After seeing the game, I have to agree with the review. I don't think the game was very well made at all.

Hahaha, god I agree.
And sadly, the game wasn't the best so it's hard to say thet the review was bad. For me the only pro about it was that it was based on the DB.
The quote about DB being unpopular also made me frown. Although we don't have an army of fans like Avatar or some popular anime series the DB fandom is still there. If you type 'Wybraniec Smoka' (polish title for Dragon Booster) in Google.com you'll find fansites related to it.
Shiroi_Neko - February 14, 2007 12:32 PM (GMT)
Well, to be honest, I have to agree with the review. Though they could've use nicer words to express their frustration over the game.
Don't worry bout it, cartoon/movie based games are always bad, if not average, coz mostly the problem was the licensing, need to pay a lot just for it. Not to mention, making a game need lotsa money too. So if one comapnyis not financially strong enough to make a game, basicly the outcome will be a bad game.
Renesh - February 14, 2007 04:08 PM (GMT)
Anime? Dragon Booster is not anime! *smacks* And while I do agree about the graphics and the AI, the rest is disputable. They ask how you are supposed to use the stylus and steer and use gear all at once? TRY THE TRAINING MODE!! It tells you to touch the tabs at the bottom of the touch screen! I've never even touched the a/b/x/y buttons even once while playing! They could at least try reading the booklet that comes with the game, it is there for a reason!
The flinging bit is funny, but you aren't throwing your body at stuff, you are smacking them with your blocking staff! Unfortunately, this is never explained in the game, so you can't really blame them.
I could go on and on, but seeing as everyone else will be able to pick it all out just fine on their own, I won't bore you. *goes back to smacking the G4 people*
Skylii - February 15, 2007 03:43 AM (GMT)
I have only one comment for this: Simon Cowell. And that is all because I have not yet played the game and pretty much have to agree on the fact that indeed, it's mean reviewing. Done well.
Burnout Beau - February 16, 2007 04:10 AM (GMT)
Ahh, Adam Sessler and Morgan Webb. What a tangled web they're in... :D
Actually, this review has been around for a year already. And although I must admit the game do look bad, I don't like the fact that they labelled the show as unpopular and even added a banner in the video review which stated "This show sucks...really". <_<
Te be honest, I've been following this game show since when I'm sixteen. As a long time follower, here's one thing you all may not know; we DB fans aren't the only ones pissed off at them now. Going back to the past, fans of Dragon Ball and Fullmetal Alchemist was so mad at them for giving bad scores to their favourite games that they started mailing hate mails. It's rather overwhelming enough that Adam and Morgan even viewed those mails on TV. Some anime fans have even criticised them for being anti-anime.

Ironically, the ones who made this bad game is also the ones who made the popular Metal Gear Solid games. :(

Yeah. That I must agree. Sometimes, they can be hilarious in a way that they made funny comments and even put up dull but funny sketches during reviews. ^_^ But sometimes, they can be as mean as the American Idol judge himself, especially when reviewing games that were terrible. :eep:
BlueBooster - April 24, 2007 11:18 AM (GMT)
I hope they make a better game soon iam imagining a plastation 2 game of Dragon Booster in my head similar to grand theft auto san andreas but no blood and cursing. I can see you being able to have 2 player and choose what character you want to be and you can enter races, dragball, jousting etc any time you want and there would be saving the day missions if you chose to be Artha or Moordryd and you could run around either on foot or on your dragon and explore places even the wastlands and meet the muhorta and get attacked by the hydrags and have characters greet you as you went along and they would now and again give you little tasks and with every mission, race and job done you would get drakkals just like when you earn money in grand theft auto to buy gear and other things and you colud also buy dragons and recolour them and keep them in stables like keeping cars in the garage in grand theft auto and to save the game you would just go to the temple at penn stables (if you were artha) or moordryd's compound if you where Moordryd and I imagine boss battles with the muhorta,Propheci, the chromatic dragon and drakkus and Armegadonn ^^ and have the game online too even on PC ^^,Also for the controls on PS2 you would click the shoulder buttons to activate gear etc select to change into booster and circle to jump of dragon and get on dragon traingle to make dragon jump and also to jump on foot and square to use blocking staff (on foot) and square to mag blast with dragon and use different combinations for massive mag attacks and clack all shoulder buttons to go super fast and relase the dragon (but not with Moordryd). What do you think? :eep:
The Furox - April 24, 2007 04:58 PM (GMT)
Include missions where you have to form a team with other characters (as in classic RPGs) and go explore an ancient temple looking for some particular item and having to overcome various obstacles and dangers along the way, and I'll buy it! That's the kind of game I would really like to play.
IbanezJFS - April 24, 2007 07:03 PM (GMT)
You mean like the Digimon DS game?
BlueBooster - April 24, 2007 07:55 PM (GMT)
no we mean other platforms like PC,X-Box,Ps2 and WII ^_^
Alexander - April 28, 2007 01:44 AM (GMT)
I have the game....and it sucks....much more then they said...LOL {^=^} you need code from the DVDs inoder to get on with teh game...it kinda just....stops....but I love and hate the game at the same time...I would have liked it for a better platformer....{^=^}
Kay Yasha - April 28, 2007 04:35 AM (GMT)
I'd just like to point out that the reviewers were dissing the game and not DB it's self. I know I find it hilarious when Good Game on ABC 2 brings up the Desperate Housewives game every week just to laugh at it.
Mari - April 29, 2007 11:25 PM (GMT)
Ok. The review itself was quite humorous. TERRIBLE, but humorous. Dragon Booster IS NOT an Anime. It's a CG cartoon. <_< Idiots.
I FLING myself at you. FLING myself at the obstacles, etc.
Yeah, I've heard that the controls suck. BIG DEAL. And these aren't "dragons" in the sense most people think of; they're big reptiles that are CALLED dragons. <_< And I like the graphics. They may not be "all nice and 3-D", but I think the partial-pixel is cute.
And these people don't know anything about Llamas. I've seen llamas. I have a friend (Ok, my Mom's friend, but we're all friends. One big friendly group of people) who raises alpacas and has two guard llamas. We help sheer them. DRAGON BOOSTER DRAGONS LOOK NOTHING LIKE LLAMAS. Llamas are FUZZY. They have POINTY-UP EARS. Dragon Booster does not.
But the note about "pimping your dragon" was humorous. Yeah, we have bumpers, spoilers and rims. I have no clue what spoilers (I know nothing about cars. They drive.) And the flinging is really funny. Now, if only we were holding blocking staffs, THEN the idiots that wrote the review would know that, no, our wonderful riders were NOT hitting things with their bodies. Although the concept is quite funny.
Heck. I don't care if they make more "crappy" games. I'm going to buy it as soon as I can just because I want to support Dragon Booster and help it get a fourth season. I don't have a DS, but who cares?!

Well, they were dissing a bit on DB itself. They refered to it as an unpopular Saturday morning cartoon.
And DB is SO POPULAR(as opposed to so NOT popular, incase you're confused about my writing) ! Those idiots. How DARE they call it an unpopular Saterday-morning show!!!! If it were unpopular, would it be on every continent bar Antarctica and in 13 different countries in at least 3 lanuages?! NO!!
Yeah. Weird combo of enraged and laughing until my sides hurt. Very strange emotions right now.... :faint:

*Holds soul in the air* WHO WANTS IT!? I'll sell it real cheap for a game like this!!!
Elushun - April 30, 2007 12:12 AM (GMT)
I'll stick with this game actually. You havn't lived until you've played a DS with both hands using a stylus with your teeth. (Besides I already sold my soul so that the Red Sox would win...)

that is also the type of game i'd like to play
why did they think it was anime when it wasn't?
and who said you had to use the stylus? use your fingers! ok i haven't tried a ds yet but your fingers should still work
---->
Elushun - April 30, 2007 07:12 PM (GMT)
Yeah, but my thumbs are already occupied with the D-pad and buttons, and the rest of my fingers are on the other side of my hand. I can't get them to the front of the DS without it falling onto the floor. Plus how am I going to hold my fingers in my teeth anyway?
Dragon Fanatic - May 5, 2007 06:25 PM (GMT)
I agree that is rude of them to say that, but that's just the reviewer's views. It's Simon Cowell syndrome.
QUOTE
and who said you had to use the stylus? use your fingers! ok i haven't tried a ds yet but your fingers should still work
You never, ever, ever use your fingers on the bottom screen! You hands are full of oils that wreck the screen, and trust me, the technology a DS has can break easily it not treated right. Another thing for a DS is the you never touch the top screen with your stylus or hands. Thought I'd let you know.
I think that the DB game is still exciting no matter how many times you play it. I like competeting in races still because I can try different methods and knock out the Boosters in 'S' level. I like the mini games because for some, you have to make choices on the spot and develop fast reflexs.
black and gold dragon - June 12, 2007 07:23 PM (GMT)
THERE WAS NOTHING FUNNY ABOUT THAT REVEIW! i am not yelling at you guys. i am yelling at the people that gave it a 1 out of 5. i have not played the game. but come on. they could be nicer. you just wait . when i get my claws.......i mean hands on them. ooohh. they wont know what hit them. i will rip them to peices. *mummbles: a show that has animea.* i am gonna slay them! even beau agrees. we should tell nerd corps or something! this is sooo rude what they have done. they hurt the fans of dragon boosters pride. they dont think before they type!

Ah, why waste the time? It's not attacking Nerd Corps or any other corporation about the show. Some people just don't like the game. Just because it's those two peoples' opinions, doesn't mean it's the whole world.

Who knows? Maybe they didn't really know what the show was. They probably just assumed it was anime. Maybe they went straight to reviewing the game without actually knowing what the show is about.

Geez, that's a little over dramatic, don't you think so?
QUOTE
they hurt the fans of dragon boosters pride. they dont think before they type!
Not really. I didn't get discouraged or hurt about it. (I have the game :D ) I just ignore reviewers for movies and games. For me, I actually have to go see the movie or play the game myself. That way, I can decide what it's like for myself. Just ignore the review and if you have the game, just keep racing. :)
demonicangel53 - June 20, 2007 05:49 PM (GMT)
Ive seen a few bad reviews from the major game websites. They possibly dont understand since they probably havn't seen the series or even part of it. Many games are not tied to a Tv Anime/cartoon series like DB is, many are originals that dont require you to watch at least a little bit of the show to understand the characters and the general plot of why the game is as it is.
Although some of that review was unjustified and perhaps an email to the site to be at least a little more sympathetic and not so predjudice about the game just because they seemingly havent bothered to get to know what the game is and what the series is, might be in order. I can see their point about the rider being flung at opponents and such, but if you know about the series, and have seen some of the racing episode, then youd know about why the rider is flung at the opponent, since its a frequent move that riders use in the series. That review and the others I have seen on other Game websites were obviously done by someone who has no knowledge about the series, or at least the minutest amount of intelligence about the TV series.
But, on the other hand, I have that game and the controls are a little basic, and they are telling the truth about that. many a time I have been sent free-falling down into the lower depths of DC because you have to tap your dragon on his hind quarters, not just anywhere on his body to get him to jump.
And arrow....using your fingers to make your dragon jump is not easy, you have to tap precisely, and to get the better of your opponents you need a stylus, not just your finger. it wont work properly.
Edit: I just played the video, and its worse than the review. It wouldnt play properly so I had to restart the comp. It was obviously made by some american 'Hates canada and everything they do and that they live' kinda show. Their obvious lack of even trying this game comes over very strongly, and they were just given some twaddle that the game is unplayable by some gamer that couldnt be bothered at all. I like the game and it IS PLAYABLE AND YOU CAN GET THROUGH THE LEVELS. although, I have to admit that I am stuck on the A Class races, I still enjoy the game.
