Okay, I am looking to start a collection and I was poking around here and saw a recomendation for stop2shop.com so I went there. After looking around and seeing the awsome prices I noticed that they have a $30 minimum on every order. So, I whipped out my calculator to see how I could work that out. This is what I came up with:
48 booster packs + 5 starters = Roughly $31 plus s&h
HOWEVER! After doing a little more calculations, I realized that I would end up with 785 cards!! That is absolutely INSANE! What I am wondering is if there is a way to get individual cards for (much) lower prices than were listed on that site. Seeing as buying every card individually would amount to more than $1,000. :faint:
On a side note, I was thinking about doing some mild gaming with them as well. Though I doubt there is anyone in my area...Mt. Shasta, California if anyone is wondering....

Wow, the booster packs are really cheap there right now. They must be liquidating their inventory. I think I may order some myself. :)
It's also possible that it's a misprint or that they're out of stock. I've noticed that stop2shop.com isn't very good about telling you if an item is in stock or not. I've ordered a few things from them, but then they came back and said "out of stock" and canceled the order. They didn't charge me anything of course, so no big deal. So you kind of have to order to find out if that price is really good or not.

It depends what your goal is. If you just want some cards as souvenirs, then yes, that's way too many cards. :) However, if you want to try and get the complete collection of cards, then that wouldn't be enough unless you're very, very lucky. The rare cards are really hard to collect. I've opened around 85 booster packs myself and I'm still missing some cards. Plus, if you want to build a powerful deck, you generally want to have four copies of the powerful rare cards in your deck. Finding four copies of a rare card is a challenge.

Yeah, don't buy individual cards. The best thing to do is to buy boosters and then start trading to fill in your collection. Though there aren't a whole lot of people to trade with. It's pretty much just me and IbanezJFS at the moment.
Given the price on boosters, I think I may order some more myself. If you want, you can split an order with me if you didn't want to order the full $30 yourself. Get in touch if you do.

Hmm, Mt. Shasta. Ever get down to the San Francisco area? I'm the undefeated champion here (though that's not saying much as only one card store ever ran tournaments here and not many people showed up for them, but hey, I'm claiming the title anyway). I have a very powerful Phorrj deck that no one has ever beaten and a Fracshun deck that sometimes totally annihilates my opponent (and other times I lose badly with it, so it needs work).
Anyway, if you get down to the Bay Area, I will accept your challenge. :)
Hopefully I will finally get some more Dragon Cards.
