Title: My New Website!

Brightclaw - January 13, 2007 06:29 PM (GMT)
I got rid of my old DB website long ago because of spam.
But now I have a new one!

This website isn't strictly related to DB but it has pictures and information about it.

New Webby

Hopefully this one won't share the same fate as my old one.

And BTW Furox, is this website is DB enough could you put a link to it from your website. I'll put a link to your two websites in return.
Many thanks!
Brightclaw and Dragons.

Sure, I can add it to the links section. By the way, I noticed you listed the full URL to the forum here in your links section, but you may not have known that I created a shortcut a long time back. Just type forum.dragon-city.org and it will redirect to here. It's a lot easier than typing http://z10.invisionfree.com/Dragon_Booster/index.php?act=idx, isn't it. :D

Also, does freewebs.com let you use javascript in your pages? If so, there's a way to hide your email address to make it harder for spammers to find it. I can give you the code for that, but you'll need to be able to edit the raw html to insert it.

One small comment about the site, you might want to darken up the really light green color on the text on some of the pages (like the links page, for example). The light green against a white background can be a bit difficult to read.

Thanks for the links to my sites! :cookie:

Thanks for the tips Furox, I agree the light green is a little hard to read, I'll modify that now.
And thanks for the Shortucut, it is a lot easier than typing the full URL.
I'm a bit of a newbie on Freewebs and I'm not sure how Javascript works.
Could you tell me how to thumbnail my images so they don't take up so much space. Then people can just click on the images they want to see, instead of browsing through all of them.

Many Thanks!

I'd look around at the documentation on freewebs.com and see if they have something that generates image galleries for you. It's pretty common for people to want to do that, so there's a good chance they offer it.

If not, you'll need to make the thumbnail images yourself and set up the links manually, which is a lot of work if you have many images.

For the fan art galleries on dragon-city.org, I use a piece of software that automatically generates the thumbnails, the index pages and all the gallery pages for me and links everything together. Then I use another program to upload everything to the server. Otherwise it would be way too much work. Hopefully freewebs will offer something like that which you can use.
