how do you download files from megaupload i can't find a search box to find the file i want to download, help

When you get to the megaupload page there will be a blank up toward the upper right part of the screen (to the right of the word megaupload) that says please enter here. There will be three random letters near the blank. Type those letters into the blank and hit the download button. Then a timer will start (45 seconds I think). After the timer has finished, click on the download link and save the file to your computer.

Sites like Megaupload don't provide any search functionality. You have to know the URL that links to the file you want, and the only to get that is to find it out from someone else. Among other reasons, I think they do things this way to help shield them from lawsuits from distributing copyrighted works since they can probably claim "common carrier" protections.

By the way, I recommend quicksharing.com over megaupload. Quicksharing allows bigger files, has no download delay and way fewer ads.

If you want to search for files, you have to go to one of the peer-to-peer file sharing services like Emule. Do a google search to find out where to download the software for that and how it works.
