Title: Dragon Paraphernalia
The Furox - September 13, 2005 07:14 AM (GMT)
As I mentioned in the
"Why We Watch" thread, I've always thought dragons were cool and I've collected a few dragon related knickknacks over the years. I thought I'd mention what I found that I liked and perhaps others could do the same for any cool dragon related stuff you've found.
First, I found some really nice dragon T-shirts made by a company called Mountain Tees. They're really nice high quality T-shirts that don't fade and they're easy to get. They're sold in T-shirt shops in just about every tourist area and shopping mall in North America that I've been to. And if that doesn't work for you, you can easily get them online as well. Here's my favorite one:

and I like this one, too:

All the Mountain Tees shirts have a big bold images like this. I really like them.
I also found an artist that makes these really great looking dragon sculptures. The artist's name is M. Pena and Windstone Editions reproduces and markets them. They're easy to get as well: just about any tourist area will have at least one gift shop that sells these and there're dozens of places online that sell them as well (just google "windstone dragon"). There's a whole series of the sculptures to choose from. Here's what a few look like:

and here's another one that I really like:

And these pictures doesn't really do them justice. Each one is hand painted and they have an iridescent look to them. There's a tremendous amount of detail in them and they look really cool if you like dragons. I've got a couple of these.
So what cool dragon related stuff have you collected or discovered out there?
the Samurox - September 14, 2005 12:39 AM (GMT)
cool they are cool I like the red one

I happened across another company that makes cool dragon T-shirts:
www.liquidblue.comHere's a really wild one they make:

and here's another:

Plus there's a bunch more on their site.
Anybody else find any cool dragon related stuff?

Well, I found a book about dragons called "The Book of the Dragon" It tells all about the different colours and what specialties they have and such. You can usually find it at your biggest bookstore.
He does some crazy artwork too.

You know, "Magna Draconis" may be the Latin term for "Book of the Dragon".
Mari - November 11, 2005 11:28 AM (GMT)
No. Magna Draconis means 'big' or 'great' 'dragon'.
Magna Carta-- 'Great Charter'; english document signed by king John that forced him to actually obey laws
Draconis... well, it means dragon.
Yay!!! I feel smart and USEFUL!! :D
Jouroo - November 11, 2005 08:11 PM (GMT)
Magna Draconis, I'm pretty sure, is translated as the greatest dragon, or the greatest of dragons. The latin word for dragon is draco, as I'm sure we're all aware, and the "is" ending normally means posession or something of that sort. I'm pretty sure the word "draconium" means 'of dragons' or 'of the dragons'
Yes I take latin, I'm a nerd :P

Well, I DON'T have any clothes or anything, but this is just a cool little thing I found.
Dragon Maker 4It's based off of the dragons on Adventure Quest, but it's fun for a while.
Here's one that I did.

I like the back claws especially. ^.^
SilverDragon - December 11, 2005 02:33 AM (GMT)
Dragon things I have:
A red dragon (not iridescent, but it's still cool) with a jewel on it's head.
A small wyvern (ok, not dragon) that sparkles. Fwee.
Blue Eyes White Dragon (from Yu-Gi-Oh. OK, sue me, I never liked the show, but BEWD pw0nerz)
A small sand dragon (who sits at my computer)
And, descending into the realm of not really dragons but dragon-like enough to be counted:
Plushie CHARIZARD!!!!!!!

Wyvrens are a type of dragon... I don't think they have feet... No wait... That's an ampithetre... I RULE THE DRAGON GEEKS! lol
Sarah Frost - December 11, 2005 08:26 PM (GMT)
...An ampitheatre is a building, and yes, a wyvern is a more serpentine-looking dragon.
Baby_Beau - December 12, 2005 01:28 AM (GMT)
I know what an amphitheatre is! But there is a type of dragon that's name is spelt almost the same.
Sarah Frost - December 12, 2005 08:06 AM (GMT)
Ah,
amphiptere, and they are more snake than dragon.
Skylii - December 13, 2005 04:52 AM (GMT)
Hmm...but some dragons do resemble snakes more or less, such as the oriental Chinese dragon. Even though it has feet, it still has a few resemblances here and there. (Almost every dragon has more or less a different design, from a dinosaur-like design to a serpent-like design.)

Hehe, Pokemon all the way. Has plenty of dragon paraphernalia. :D (Speaking of dragon designs, anybody seen Dratini or Dragonair? Oooh, oooh, Gyrados! Especially Gyrados. :D)
SilverDragon - December 15, 2005 02:04 AM (GMT)
There's more Dragon pokemon than you think, Skylii, and here's one of the newest. It's called Salamence.

Off topic, I know, but I have a level 68 Salamence named Trogdor.
Skylii - December 15, 2005 03:57 AM (GMT)
I did know there's a billion more dragon-type Pokemon, but Gyrados and Dragonair are one of my favorites. So is Lugia. ^_^ Don't they also have a new TCG with alien-like dragon-type Pokemon?
Hehe, Trogdor. ;)
Yu-gi-oh also has some really pwnsome dragons. :D
hyperpsychomaniac - December 15, 2005 04:55 AM (GMT)
^_^ Pokemon are so cute, but I can't stand the show, or the games...
WereDragon - December 15, 2005 11:47 PM (GMT)
Mmmm....I don't have much but I have a few little staues of dragons and a few clay dragons (I tried to make them and failed misrably). I also have Spyro the Dragon 2:Ripto's Rage. I'm not sure if I have anything else.
the power of ICE - December 15, 2005 11:59 PM (GMT)

Strong Bad: ...and add one of those beefy arms....
SilverDragon - December 16, 2005 10:35 AM (GMT)
I have EVERY dragon pokemon EVER except the legendary (pains) Latios and Latias.
Go, me.
AND:
A level 46 Charizard named WyldFyr!
The Furox - December 16, 2005 07:02 PM (GMT)
This isn't a dragon, but you have to admit it reminds you of Wyldfyr and Phorrj:

It's called the Roboraptor and it's said to have a primitive AI that allows it to walk around objects in its path, emulate moods and a few other things like that.
Saw this in the store not too long ago and just thought I'd post it.

I've seen those a lot latley in our Futute Shop flyer.
For me, it reminds me of Wildfyr the most (hence the horn like things on it's head)
Baby_Beau - December 16, 2005 09:43 PM (GMT)
I want one of those... Trogdor is awesome! that was really funny!
SilverDragon - December 17, 2005 05:35 AM (GMT)
They've put out a new Lego range called Dino Attack, and the mutant lizard figure looks surprisingly similiar to WyldFyr, complete with tail spikes.

Those are like $50 Canadian here.
At Future Shop.
At "The Scource" (formally "Radio Shack") there like $80 Canadian.
hyperpsychomaniac - December 17, 2005 12:51 PM (GMT)
I love that roboraptor thing. I keep seeing them in toy mags and wanting one... 'cept that I think I'm too old to buy myself a hundred dollar toy. ;) I have however seen smaller ones, I think they just kindof walk in a straight line, for about twenty Australian dollars.
the power of ICE - December 21, 2005 11:33 PM (GMT)
Oh, but who could forget Dragon glasses/snow goggles/motocross goggles!!!
This is the pair that I have, just scroll over the colours to look them, I have the "Jet to Silver fade" one.
Dragon Optical - FoilI have 2 shirts and a belt too. :P
hyperpsychomaniac - December 22, 2005 11:05 AM (GMT)

the power of ICE - December 22, 2005 01:46 PM (GMT)

Goddesstears - December 29, 2005 05:05 AM (GMT)
 Trogdor the burninator! ^^ *starts to sing* And the dragon comes in the niiiiiiiight! Ok....
There's a book at www.pyramidcollection.com called Dragonology: The Complete Study of Dragons. They've also got some other cool dragon stuff like candle holders, incense burners, statues, jewelry...all kinds of cool dragon stuff! The Noble Collection, I believe, has a couple of statues of the dragons from the latest Harry Potter movie, and Franklin Mint has some awesome dragon sculptures as well.
Oh and I love alot of the dragon-type pokemon. I dun watch the show that much anymore, but I do have FireRed with my Charizard, Firefly ^^

actually a wyvern is a two legged dragon native to africa. They are the largest of the winged dragon speicies. An ampherdite (dont know how to spell) is a long serpent like dragon with no feet. resembles a pheonix because it has feathers. Ok boffin moment over.

There's a Loch Ness monter like thing in Canada, in the Okanogan valley. Her/his name is Ogopogo :P (the name makes me laugh)

The city takes a lot into this as a sightseeing grab, so they put these statues evreyware n the town.

My parents have one like that on the front windowsill. :D
Brightclaw - January 1, 2006 08:57 PM (GMT)
