Title: Country Count
Description: Needed for letter writing campaign

Mari - November 19, 2006 04:43 AM (GMT)
Alrighty, I'm going to conduct a country count. Just say what country you're from.
I'm going to use this in a VERY long debate-case-like letter that I will be sending to NerdCorps and all of the broadcasters that air Dragon Booster. It will be in the form of a Student Congress legislation:

Whereas...... ((gives information))
Whereas...... ((gives information))
Whereas...... ((gives information)) and can continue for MANY more lines

Be it resolved that.... (big fancy wording that in short says Dragon Booster MUST have a fourth season.

One of the 'Whereas' clauses I intent to include will be that Dragon Booster is a show viewed world wide. A full list of countries would be very beneficial for this and would help as data to support my claim.

Here's a full list of the countries and the people in the countries (so I don't accidently count somebody twice  ) If you don't want your name here, I'll just put a blank so you'll get counted, but I won't put your username. ;)

I'm hoping to get at least 20 different countries that DB shows in. I think that's a substantial number to prove that Dragon Booster is a world-wide show. :P

According to TFL.org's category list, there are several DB fanlistings being made. One for Artha, one for Kitt, and one for Artha/Kitt. I don't think there's a general DB one, though.

Australia.

Yeah, it does!

Mari, are you looking for just the list of countries or are you trying to get a count of the members from each country as well?

Both. I'm making a list of what countries air DB and how many members on this board alone are from those countries.

It makes for a good argument to say that DB is one of the most international cartoons: it's in Asia, Australia, South America, North America and Europe! All 7 continents, bar Antarctica, which doesn't count. And, if it's been translated into as many languages as I think (Polish, English, Spanish, French) then it has to bring in some revenue! It takes money to translate an entire series and so many countries wouldn't do that if it wasn't a good show.

Yep, that's my plan. :D :plot:

Allye - April 14, 2007 02:56 AM (GMT)

Great news, guys!!! We've got DB airing on EVERY CONTINENT!!! :faint: (Bar Antarctica, but that doesn't really count, seeing as nobody lives there XD)

And 13 different countries!!!

Total Countries: 13

This is great data, guys! I'm glad I haven't sent off the official letter yet, because it sounds so much better when I can brag that DB airs on every continent! Thanks everybody who's told me where they're from!!

This doesn't mean that I don't want people to keep posting. Everybody, tell me where you're from!!!

The Furox - April 29, 2007 09:14 PM (GMT)
QUOTE (Mari @ Apr 29 2007, 10:41 AM)

Though there is that research station at the south pole. And they do have Internet access. If we could get someone there to watch one of the episodes on youtube.com, then we could say DB is watched on every continent on the planet! :D

So given the old "six degrees of separation", does anyone here know anyone who knows anyone ... who knows someone who works at the research station? ^_^

The other possibility would be to find someone taking one of those adventure holidays there. They could take along a DVD and watch it while they're there. I think that would count. ;)

The Hydrag - April 29, 2007 11:36 PM (GMT)
Actually using the six degrees of separation I know someone who knows someone that does work at the research facility. Hey dont forget I saw someone in the forums some where that lives in Venezuala

Elushun - April 30, 2007 12:32 AM (GMT)
I know that Michael Reem at the Amundsen-Scott Research Station at the South Pole watches a lot of internet and satelite TV in his spare time. Maybe if we could convert him into a fan we could do it. Or maybe we could just convert Antarctica. If it was warmer, then it would be a more habitable place for Dragon Booster fans to live. I'll bet that if each one of us goes outside right now and burns a tire we could have Antactica online within a week. Go global warming! Screw those stupid pengins! This is important!

You can put me on the list as an American BTW. That's right USA USA USA! The only country that didn't lose to Italy in the World Cup! Pwned!

Mari - April 30, 2007 05:00 PM (GMT)
That would be great! The sixth degree theory probably WOULD work, too! We must get some of our Antarctic friends to watch Dragon Booster for us... :plot:

Alright, now I'm adding a count of languages DB is translated into. I know it's in Polish, English and Spanish thus far. Perhaps it will help to say that it's been translated a bunch of times. It DOES cost money to translate things and if one thinks that something won't do well, then they won't waste the money to translate it.

Therefore, if DB is translated into ALOT of different languages, then we can brag that it HAS to be popular since they went through the trouble of translating it. ;)
