Title: How did you choose your Internet name?
Airshadow - September 6, 2005 12:04 AM (GMT)
I choosed mine when I joined to BeastWars Anonimus in late 90's and I used first the nick "Sky shadow" until I relaize that it was the name of a male chars toy and I'm a girl, so I changed it to Airshadow.
I used to other usernames as Silvannna and KMPL but I didn't liked them a lot
Sarah Frost - September 6, 2005 01:23 AM (GMT)
Mine's a combination of my real name and a fictional character I love from the
Deathstalker series. (Go read, it's WONDERFUL swords-n'-spaceships stuff, and the author's also written several fantasy books.
Blue Moon Rising pretty much starts off the Forest Kingdom books, where the virgin prince rescues a dragon from a rogue princess and then saves the kingdom (along with his pet unicorn and said princess) from a bloodthirsty demon invasion, complete with time travel, sorcery, and policital intrigue.)
Daigerus - September 6, 2005 01:42 AM (GMT)
I used to be obsessed with Digimon and often daydream about them, but then the screenname turned out to be too long and tedious, so I shortened it and then added a few letters.
That's how Daigerus came to be, basically. :)
LightningFlash - September 6, 2005 02:59 AM (GMT)
My favourite character in the OF flies on a weird supersonic jet-ski type thing, called the Lightning Flash. Not the most flattering thing to name myself after, but it works, even if most people think I'm a guy. :P
hyperpsychomaniac - September 6, 2005 10:41 AM (GMT)
Um... well I think I was feeling a bit insane and/or high on caffine or sugar when I did mine. :D
The Furox - September 6, 2005 05:54 PM (GMT)
Not much mystery about mine, is there. :) I obviously liked the way the Furox appeared in "Fanning the Flames" when the bone mark was put on Phorrj. That made one cool looking dragon with all those intense colors. One look and you know that's one nasty dragon. You'll never see him in a petting zoo, that's for sure. And I really like the way Phorrj looks just by himself, as well. He's got a great color scheme to start with. Too bad we don't get to see much of him.
I usually tend to pick villains or villainous characters for my online IDs. Other ones I use are "Dr. Viper" and "Don Karnage". Bonus points for anyone who knows those (without a google search, of course).
Skylii - September 7, 2005 11:21 PM (GMT)
Hmm, well, Skylii was the name of an earlier Dragon Booster character I made up, who I am currently tweaking. Xin Fyrrae was another character I am planning to use in a different fandom (not Ace Lightning, though).
ShadowCat - September 10, 2005 06:31 AM (GMT)
I chose my username ages ago. I can't remember why.
Natalilly - September 15, 2005 10:00 PM (GMT)
When my nephew was learning to talk, he had difficulty saying my name (Natalie) so he settled for 'Natalilly' instead. I thought it was precious, so did my family, and it stuck... I am now Aunty Natalilly, and I use the name online too... Awwww... Isn't that soppiness in a can?

AWWWWWWW!!!
Knights_Honour - September 17, 2005 03:16 AM (GMT)
Mine comes from my Neopets account, it was going to be Code_of_Honour but that was taken and becuse the pets of that account are LK based, Knights_Honour was the next choice.

Don Karnage and Dr. viper? heh talespin and swatkats I think. Don Karnage is a lot of fun.
As for my name Kairos is a extreme throw back on my birth name with my own twist to it if that makes any sense at all. Kairos = Kairon or kiros = steven= transation: crowned one. If ya beleive that last. Kairos Greek trans: Moment or the name of a forgotten warrior depending who you ask.
Lokorr just has a sound that I like for some reason. No real meaning that I've found yet but it wouldn't be a surprise if it had one that related to me somehow.

Score! Both those series are old favorites of mine. Talespin still airs on Toon Disney, but I haven't seen Swat Kats air in a long time. Both Don Karnage and Dr. Viper are in the eccentric villain category and I find them fun to watch.
Airshadow - September 21, 2005 05:47 PM (GMT)
I remember too Dr.Viper. I loved Swat kats too, I wonder is somehwere I can buy the dvd's of the serie
The Furox - September 21, 2005 05:59 PM (GMT)
No such luck, I'm afraid. A handful of the episodes were put out long ago on VHS, but they're out of print now. I'll let you know if I ever hear of a DVD release.
Natalilly - September 22, 2005 09:53 PM (GMT)
Ah! TALESPIN! Dear God I remember that, they showed it for a little while, but I've never seen it again. I loved that show ^^ that and Darkwing duck. where have all the good toons gone? *looks around at all the Dragon Booster stuff on the site* Oh.
Pyrrah - October 12, 2005 06:05 PM (GMT)
Everyone knows where I got Pyrrah.
Other names I've used on other boards are:
d: on the Score Entertainment's DB TCG board (Why? I was too lazy to write a longer name!)
Cordelia: That's my middle name. I use it on a Scarlet Pimpernel message board
curl: That's the username I have on a Shirley Temple message board
shirleyprincess: Just another name for yet another S T message board
Mari - October 23, 2005 06:21 PM (GMT)
lol... the good old shows... talespin, swatkats, chip and dale rescue rangers (god i loved that show)... toon disney rocks!!! :D
Well, my name comes from my real name: Marika (said muh-ree-kuh). at home, i get called Mika (mee-kuh). When a friend and I started a sorta role-playing thing, I decided to shorten my name to Mari. My character mari is the princess of planet x (the full name is exatatareanmoltarparvareancamainshentearme) and is sotra a satyr, only a horse instead of goat. I called it a dratherium... also, Mari was an ancient goddess of the ocean, or (otherwise interpreted) nature. I found that out a few years after i picked the name mari (Mah-ree)

Thrakos - October 26, 2005 02:34 AM (GMT)
I came up with my internet name after I had to do a project on mythology. Each of the students was assigned a different aspect of it. I ended up getting the Dragon for my project
Any how in my researching i came across Thrakos, translated from greek to English means Dragon.
and thats how ended up with Thrakos

It's a combined name of Marie and Katherine. My full name is Marika Katherine ________ (i don't wanna put my last name... too many crooks on the internet...)

Jorghes - November 1, 2005 09:26 PM (GMT)
um... It's one of my characters (therefore I made it up myself) and I like it cause it's strange...
the power of ICE - November 2, 2005 03:38 AM (GMT)
Well I screwed up on this one <_< It was ORIGINALLY going to be Solari(The name of my dragon) BUT.... I just had a crapload of ice-cream, and I typed in this. -.- *headdesk*

Mine was slight similar. Ever had those times when you register on a forum that you thought you'd have a username that you can change on your Profile page so you'd have a different screenname, but it turns out, that's the screenname your stuck with? Turns out, this isn't Proboards, and now lo behold, 'tis I, Skylii. (Or Xin.)
Jouroo - November 2, 2005 04:31 AM (GMT)
Well, I just use the same username for absolutely everything, that way I never forget what it is
I didn't use my characters name for my username because I have multiple characters, and my main human char doesn't have a name yet :D
Neemers - November 5, 2005 11:25 PM (GMT)
My screen name is my puppy's nickname, and I use it everywhere. Except when I went to sign up for Yahoo somone else had already picked it.

Don't you just hate it when somebody else takes the name you use everywhere else; a name that you thought nobody elso would THINK of?
Neemers - November 6, 2005 12:33 AM (GMT)
Eh. I'm used to it. I have a common first name.
Mari - November 6, 2005 12:41 AM (GMT)
You'd be surprised how many people use ravenwings08 and mikamajik08. Doesn't it seem that those names wouldn't be that common.
Nashy-Bear - November 7, 2005 04:33 AM (GMT)
I have 2 internet names. Nashy-Bear is the one I use the most because hopefully no one has used it yet. Nashy was a nick my friends called me in primary school and it was based off my name Natasha. Also for the past few years my Dad has called me Nashy. The bear part comes from my love of teddy bears and from my high school nick Baby-Bear.
My other internet name is Ruri. I only use that with my uni friends. Ruri is a charcter from Nadisico and she was me favourite character (I even call my USB Omoikane - the computer that Ruri 'talks' to). I use Ruri on the uni IRC channels and forums as well as my web page. Guessing that someone would have used Ruri I use Nashy-Bear outside uni related stuff. Also Nashy-Bear would be more appropriate for some places rather than Ah Satan :P (that is Natasha spelt backwards, someone pointed this out to me in year 10).
SilverDragon - December 15, 2005 02:16 AM (GMT)
I have four nicknames on the internet:
Dinoman
Self-explanatory.
Lykosaurus
More or less a misspelling of a reptile called Lystrosaurus, but the Lyko bit turns it into wolf lizard.
SilverDragon
There's a Gold Dragon of legend, but where's the silver dragon? Or bronze? Also, *points at sig*.
LUGYYYYYYAAAAAAAA!!!
Loch Ness Lapras
I use this one on any Pokemon forums I go on. It isn't the most used name I have but, heck. I'm Scottish (Irish-English too) in ancestory and I love Lapras, so...

*tries to remember Lystrosaurus from huge, lately unused repository of dinosaurian names stored in brain* Is that one of the swimming ones? I think they popped up that one's name on 'Surface' last night...
dRagOniDe - December 15, 2005 05:40 AM (GMT)
Can't remember..I think this name popped into my head and I thought that it was beautiful...sooo...I used it :P
the power of ICE - December 15, 2005 09:11 PM (GMT)
Usually, the two I use the most are Yeddibable or Dogtof33 (3 = E, for all you non-leet's)
Yeddibable is a screwed up cartoon charicter I made in grade 5, and....here's a picture. ._.'

yyyeeeeaaaahhhhhh.......
And Dogtof33 I usually use for gaming, so when people say "YOUR CRAP!!!!" I can say "BINGO!!!!" Get it?
WereDragon - December 15, 2005 11:39 PM (GMT)
Hmmm...I hav mutlipul names for the Internet.
WereDragon: For here. I liked the idea of werewolves, so I thought why not weredragons?
TheElementDragon: For ff.net (or is it .com?) Anyway this whole Dragon Craziness started with an innocent game of...Spyro The Dragon 2 (:Ripto's Rage). I found out later that in the first game there were different types of Dragons(magic, healers etc). I liked to tweak names and objects a bit so I made a dragon combined of all the other types, thus creating a Element Dragon.
Dragon-Of-Legend:(For DeviantArt) Big whoop! Everyone knows were I got this from. *Glances at Beau* Anyway I was signing up at DA and the name WereDragon was gone. I tried FullMoon next and someone had taken that as well. So I remembered Beau and put Dragon-Of-Legend in. It worked even though I thought someone else would have gotten it.
That's it. I have a few more accounts but I don't want to bore you with it. They are LONG GONE!
Baby_Beau - December 16, 2005 12:35 AM (GMT)
Meh. I guess I HAVE to post mine! lol :P
Baby_Beau: Dunno... I was bored and thought a baby Beau would be cute... Wanna change it now...
GoddessOfTheWild: I'm obsessive with nature and the wilderness... If I can't get a job as a vet or Stable owner when I grow up, I'm gonna try and find someplace with no people and live there.
Epona Horse Godess: Heh heh... Spelt Goddess wrong! Epona is the Celtic horse goddess and I'm Irish and love horses so... The name speaks for itself!
HunterJumperGirl: My style of riding is Jumper and Dressage so... My UHS (Ultimate Horse Site) forums name.

Nah., Lystrosaurus was a mammal-like reptile that lived in the early-late Triassic period. It usually lived on land, but it is likely it waded around in swamps.
hyperpsychomaniac - December 16, 2005 11:16 AM (GMT)
Ah. :) I think the ep of 'Surface' threw me off. They had some plesiosaur type critter they showed called 'L-something-saurs'... I think... they only flashed it... *is slipping* *runs to find dinosaur orientated book* *realises she has sold/lost them all* <_<
