Title: new shows
Description: how do you tell the year apart

the Samurox - September 1, 2005 11:47 PM (GMT)
I can't tell the two years apart

The Furox - September 2, 2005 07:35 AM (GMT)
There doesn't appear to be a firm dividing line in the stories between years or seasons of the show. Animated shows typically have 13 episodes per season. Here in the US, they aired 15 episodes between October 2004 and June 2005, and they aired 17 episodes in Canada and 13 episodes in Australia. So whether there are 13, 15 or 17 episodes in the first season is pretty much an open question.

In any event, welcome to the forum!

Oh, and I think I see a way to identify the episodes of season 1 versus season 2: they made a tiny change to the opening title sequence. In season 1 (first 13 episodes), after the Dragon Booster logo, you see Word's face briefly as he says "The dragon is power." In season 2 (episode 14 and on), they kept the voice over, but took the image of Word out and they just leave the logo up longer.

Yeah. Furox is probably more lucky than me; I have to keep rewinding again and again and again (ditto, ditto, ditto...) and probably about a million times to read the Draconian signs and finally understand what the signs or other Draconian labeled things say, because when I pause my VHS, the screen goes kinda staticky, and it sucks, because everything's all messed up.

I want a DVD burner/recorder/whatever. :P

Go for a Tivo (or other brand of hard disk recorder) first. It totally changes the way you experience TV.

That tivo works in MExico?

I don't know about the Tivo brand specifically, but several companies make DVRs now (digital video recorders). Cable and satellite companies here offer them as an upgrade to their service. So you might check with your cable company and see if they offer a DVR.

I dont know if you saw this but season three came and I thought it was season 1 but onseason one there is not a camber

SilverDragon - April 23, 2006 11:12 PM (GMT)
Judging from the third season eps I've seen (TRoD2 excluded), the third season eps have swapped the black background in the credits for a shot of one of the backgrounds seen in the episode itself.

Hi!

DB is 13 episodes a season. There aren't any obvious ways to tell the different seasons apart that I know of. I think the quality has consistantly increased, but that can be a subtle thing to see. TheFurox is right about the small tweak in the opening credits, those kinds of things are the only difference between the seasons.

SilverDragon: I think the backgrounds in the credits have been used in other seasons too. I've seen the art for them prepared for a long time now - maybe they weren't used in the end though, I'm not sure.

The Furox - April 27, 2006 06:59 PM (GMT)
Yes, all episodes to date that have aired on Toon Disney have the end credits over the backgrounds. On the other hand, the ABC Family Channel does the squeeze thing I hate where they push the credits off to the left hand one third of the screen so they can run promos for other shows at the same time on the right. They run the credits over a plain black or blue background. I hate this because it makes the credits totally illegible.

The DVD came out with the credits over black as well. That was kind of a bummer since it was much nicer with the artwork.
