Title: Cain's Mutiny
Description: Episode thirty-seven
PyroWarriorZ - October 19, 2006 06:25 PM (GMT)
Yup, the episode title was right. I'm here to give you your weekly summary courtesy of South African television.
First to answer a few questions.
This is sort of a Cain ep, but it more a Shadow Booster, everyone else ep.
Yes there is a mutiny
There is no Moordryd become too obssessed with being Shadow Booster, actually the opposite
There is a bit of Moordryd & Cain friendshipness towards the end
Yes Cain does grow a backbone
Yes there is Moordryd putting someone in their place
There are no major changes
There small plot relevenace but only towards bad guys
Also there is what people wanted (Aka ME!!!!) NO POWER BOOSTER!!!!!!! WWWWWAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!! I'M GONNA KILL THEM, I WANT POWER BOOSTER NOW!!!!!!!!!!!!
On with the summary
*********Beginning of Summary**************
Cain is rounding up stolen Dragon's when Moordryd tells him to hurry up, he is getting the Dragon Eyes appreciation award tonight (I'm not joking....) Police sirens are heard and Moordryd abandons them much to Cain's dismay. Shadow Booster shows up and chases the police away. Cain is a little suspicious (A little, can the fool not figure it out?!!?!?!) Cain says maybe the Shadow Booster should be the leader (Don't worry, doesn't happen...). Cain yells at Moordryd for abadoning them, Moordryd wants to tell him he is Shadow Booster, but can't.
The Fire Race begins, Wulph and Phistus knock each other out. Lance and Parm pretend to be commentators to annoy Artha. They tell him to follow Pyrahh since she knows the place (It is the same place Artha raced her in that beginning ep). Moordryd complains to Armeggaddon that he should not of let Cain race, because Cain is ahead. Armeggaddon points out Cain is next to Pyrahh, he says Moordryd knows what to do.
Moordryd is reluctant, but blasts Cain into Pyrahh, sending Cain off into the lava. Artha rescues him and Cain tells him to mind himself (No, he doesn't join the good side) Moordryd wins and Artha comes second. Cain now loathes Moordryd , he says Moordryd had better show up for his award party.
At the party (Think Dragon Eye HQ with decorations, frightening...They are even all wearing party crowns *Shivers*). Moordryd is a no show. Cain is now a Seer of Dragon Eyes (Don't ask me...?!). He suggests they mutinize, he says: Not just a mutiny, Cain's Mutiny. Moordryd appears at the empty party and tastes the cake, its Draconeeyum Bar cake (A candy cake, thats got to be good for you...)
Cain is at the council of 12, telling Phistus of his plan and proposal when Moordryd appears and hears about the treachtory(sp?). Cain threatens to expose him and his Wraith connection unless he agrees, the council agrees. Artha hears about this from Parm (I noted Parm isn't wearing his gauntlet?! Wha?!)
The Shadow Booster attacks the council of 12 one by one, as revenge for betraying Moordryd and even says so (Seriously, can they not figure it out?!?!). Armeggaddon yells at Moordryd asking what the heck he is doing. Moordryd says he hates authority and disobeys. (Moordryd is getting fiesty with Armmeggy). Dragon Booster speaks to the council about Shadow Booster, who conviently bursts in and blasts Dragon Booster away and scares Cain.
He makes a proposal to stop true enemy, Dragon Booster. Pyrahh, Wulph and Vociferous (Its always these three, Dragon Flares are my fave crew, but they evil....wah!!!!). Shadow Booster throws a table, knocking the others out the building. Dragon Booster and Shadow Booster battle while the other crews battle. (All are seen, even Kawake. With exceptions of coarse to Reepyr, Stewardd, Rivett and Chute...). Police come scaring away the bad guys.
Phistus meets with the council of 12 again (How is it twelve, if there is no Stewardd, Reepyr and Chute?). Moordryd appears and tell them he has connections with Shadow Booster and he will help them stop the true bad guy, Dragon Booster. Pyrahh, Wulph and Vociferous join, again...
The bad crews run around streets. (I noted the Voice Crew have new Dragons, no longer big light green ones, but thin blue ones....?!). Dragon Booster tries to stop Pyrahh, but they swarm him and Moordryd uses Draining whip to train him. The other crews arrive to help, with Cain helping Phistus. Moordryd uses full power drain on Dragon Booster, so that is armour will come off. Penn Crew arrives to help, Wulph knocks Kitt off he Dragon, but Cain saves her.
Lance and Parm comment on how the Army of Dragons have switched sides again! Moordryd almost sees Dragon Booster's identity, but is stopped by Cain. (Cain to da rescue!!!). The Crews battle again....(I noted for a second the Voice Crew had LGreen dragons again, but I think it caused they used footage from that Rivett episode. But I also see a Light Green Dragon like the one Vociferous had on good guys side?!!?! I couldn't see who the rider is, what the frick is going on!?!!?!?)
Moordryd battles Cain. Beau recharges magically and him and Artha create an expanding mag-dome (Like the one Drakkus can do) to blast everyone and stop the fighting. Moordryd runs aways and when Cain's points this out the bad crews decide to rejoin the council.
Cain finds Moordryd and is ready to fight. Moordryd decides he has no choice he slowly pulls out his amulet and transforms, Cain stares horrified. Shadow Booster says: Do you understand now. They walk off and Shadow Booster also says: Remember when I get into academy some of my crew comes with me. They are at the party (How many parties does Cain get, he has more then all of us combined have?!).
Moordryd is in side room when Armeggaddon is very upset with him for revealing his secret and risking it all for a "nobody". Moordryd defends Cain's honour and throws the amulet on to the floor (0_o). Moordryd asks if there is any more Draconeeyum Bar Cake as he laughs with Cains. The amulet glows on the floor.
The end
*********End of Summary*****************
Not at all what I expect, a lot with the council of twelve and those 3 crews always act as bad guys. Red, Purple and Turquoise, it was a change to see Kawake with the good guy team though.
What the F$%@#!!! is going on with the Turquoise Dragons, first they are light green, then they are light blue, then for a second they are light green and then light blue again. Then there a good light green dragons who shouldn't be there. I'm going nuts...!?!?!?!?!
I can't believe Moordryd threw down the amulet, will he still be Shadow Booster I mean he needs amulet to transform?! We definatley know he won't be following Armeggaddon, and Cain knows will he act as side helper like the Penn crew is to Dragon Booster? I wonder....
AND WHERE IS THE DANG POWER BOOSTER, I WANT HIM NOW!!!!!!!!!!! STOMPS UP AND DOWN HYSTERICALLY SCREAMING MADLY. I WANT TO SEE HIM, ITS NO FAIR. THERE ARE ONLY TWO EPISODES LEFT, I BETTER SEE HIM OR SOME PEOPLE ARE GONNA DIE. HE BETTER BE THERE OR ELSE!!!!!!!!!!!!
Ok my fit of rage is over, thats the summary. Enjoy!
turkmen - October 19, 2006 07:45 PM (GMT)
Thank you very much for this summary my friend! *hugs*
I also expected something bigger but Moordryd revealing his other self to Cain and that sudden hostility between him and Armeggaddon in the end is also very important. It was nicely done, in the beggining Moordryd was so full of himself and despite his doubts he almost killed Cain in the Fire Cave, then missing the party (omg what have they done to the campoud ><"), all those battles and betrayal... and I think it's so cute that in the end instead of fighting Moordryd decides to tell his friend the truth. And how that evil talking amulet of doom called Cain a 'nobody' and Moordryd got angry and defended him. It has been a while since we saw such a direct 'goodness' in Moordryd, it's a sign people! No more doubts about Shadow Booster turning sides; 'Cain's Mutiny' might turn into 'Moordryd's Mutiny against Armeggaddon.' Though it's kinda sad, yet again Moordryd can't come to terms with another father/tutor figure in his life; everybody tries to use him, no wonder he hates authorities.
Finally we see Kawake in action! Omg that was a LONG time. Not that anybody missed him or something. And it's kinda confussing with Vociferous crew dragons... but I would actually prefer to see them riding something less boulder-looking so it's alright. xD
And another big street-crew fight! We are getting to see such fights more and more often, the anxiousness and animosity is growing. The war is near. Sweet.
I must agree that since 'The Mechanist' the council of 12 is always divided into good, bad and absent crews. The Voice of the Dragon and the Dragon Eyes I understand, but why Wulph and Pyrahh? What about episode 3 where it was said that the Dragon Flares are the most honourable of all crews? Not to mention Wulphs 'redemption' in the and of 'Chromatic Dragon' and the whole 'Phrophets Motive' episode. Gah! I guess it was nessecery to increase the number of enemies for a short time to rise the tension and chooosing those two crews was more logical then the Inner Order or the Dragon Fish suddenly turning against Phistus.
I just need to add I love that blissfull ignorance everybody shows towards the true identifies of the boosters. Though Moordryd almost unmasked Artha!
I'm very curious what Armeggaddon is going to do next. This new wedge between him and his studen might ruin all his evil plans (of doom!). Because he has to have some evil plans, guys like him always do. Since I doubt he ever saw Moordryd as anything else as a pawn and a useful tool (he even said to Word that carring for his son is his weakness, he might use Shadow Booster against Drakkus). Or perhaps it's time for some orange mind control gear... or he might just hand him over to a bunch of rabid fangirls.
And what's up with all those parties in Dragon Eyes HQ? I always had that feeling that they're just some party-animals boozing behind the scenes all the time.
Now all I have letf to do is to sit down and wait another 34617056 years to actually SEE this episode ><"

Now you know how I felt waiting :P
Don't worry, soon you will be ahead again and I'll be needing summaries.
Your also welcome, but don't hug me...

OK?
turkmen - October 19, 2006 08:40 PM (GMT)
Nah, I'll never be ahead. I'm from Poland you see, the only thing we're ahead of is the number of evil twins in our goverment and the disposal of potatos.

Trust me South Africa is also behind in everything, its insanity. Movies, t.v. shows. I mean we still haven't gotten to see Naruto, Shaman King and lots of others.
Its insanity were usually very very very behind, at least 2 seasons. Its a miracle we skipped ahea din Db, its the only thing and I have no idea how, but personally I think we stole it....
J`Rin Tekaar - October 19, 2006 09:27 PM (GMT)
Perhaps Pyrahh`s exposure to the Furox had a long-term effect on her - and not for the good!
Skylii - October 20, 2006 04:01 AM (GMT)
This really should be in Episode Discussion.
...Moordryd/Cain friendship, Moordryd laughing normally, Moordryd standing up for Cain, Moordryd eating CAKE at a party OH GOD I WANNA SEE THIS EPISODE *breaks down and goes insane*

Or you could just ask politely. Because, frankly, you striking from the board is no skin off my nose. But putting up with that attitude? That is.
PyroWarriorZ - October 20, 2006 12:17 PM (GMT)
Well I did send you a polite message,
I'm just strikeing coz I don't like being accused of putting things in the wrong place!
I dislike it when people move my stuff....and then people complain at me! Its unfair!
turkmen - October 20, 2006 01:35 PM (GMT)
tr00, this is not a transcript and I agree it doesn't belong in this section. Why to put it here in the first place?
Sarah Frost - October 20, 2006 01:46 PM (GMT)
a) Surprise, LightningFlash is not perfect nor has ever claimed to be, and in her mortal imperfection is included
b) a certain distaste for particularly rude requests. Such as above capslock and infantile "strikeing".
Are we all clear now?
PyroWarriorZ - October 20, 2006 02:25 PM (GMT)
I don't know why the she is imperfect came along, as it is unnessecary, never said she was perfect?! You confuse me.....
But yea, the striking wasn't directed at her or anyone, it was simply to make sure it was heard, I've been to a lot of sites where the admins don't ever listen to what the people are saying unless the make it a big commotion simply because there is too much for them to read.
As I said I wasn't directing an attack to her, I was making a big commotion so that whoever knew there was a problem.
turkmen - October 20, 2006 03:41 PM (GMT)
Ok since everything is cleared let's all be friends now, shake hands and perhaps even get back to the topic.
Liliwen - October 20, 2006 08:25 PM (GMT)
And getting back to the topic....
I love this episode! At the beginning Moordryd 'leaves' his crew, then pushes Cain into Pyrrah, luved it. Good way to make some tension between them. And Moordryd wins the race! Yay! And finally, Moordryd's tells his best friend about his secret identity! I was waiting for that....
PyroWarriorZ - October 20, 2006 11:49 PM (GMT)
Yea, lets just get this topic moved, it is nothing to fight about........
Yea, it was pretty good, especially with him telling Cain and betraying Armeggaddon, but technically Liliwen, his crew left him led by Cain. He had no intention of leaving his crew, he was just growing more distant from them. It was Cain who sparked the mutiny.
LightningFlash - October 21, 2006 02:15 AM (GMT)
I'll move it back, but in future, instead of stupid displays of immaturity, you can just stick with the PM. Because, unlike the admins you mentioned, I do pay attention.

| It was Cain who sparked the mutiny. |
Yeah finally Cain showed that there's more to him that just sarcastic remarks and being a comic relief. To think that if Moordryd wasn't the SB he could get kicked out of the council by Cain.
And at last they showed Moordryd winnig a race. All the time they're saying that he's in the lead for the only academy slot, but Artha beats him most of the time.

| They walk off and Shadow Booster also says: Remember when I get into academy some of my crew comes with me. |
In what sense come with him? I don't get it. So Chute has also some of her crew with her? I don't believe that they are also in the academy.

Yea understood Lightning, that is good to know. Sorry the strike wasn't directed at you, it was just in general.

SAnd whoever's runnin' the mechnaists. Don'y forget them! Hacve we ever seen Machina?
i knew Moordryd would tell Cain. He needed to tell somebody, and it was Cain or mini-brat, and there was like a -10% chance of him telling Lance.
Anyway, I knew there's be tension coming up between Arrmeggy and Moordryd, so that wasn't as much of a surprise. But who knows, maybe Cain might spill the beans if it means saving Moordryd from something(like maybe arrmeggy).....

Never thought of that, but I'd think that would be a probable way for others (Artha) to find out Moordryd's secret identity.
A few questions:
a. Who's currently leader of the Dragon Eyes, Cain or Moordryd?
b. Did the Dragon Eyes party look like a lot of fun?
c. How many Dragon Eyes do we actually see at the party?
PyroWarriorZ - October 22, 2006 01:35 AM (GMT)
We haven't seen Machina yet, sorry.
a) Not sure, it was left with Cain having his own crew that abandon Moordryd, but since he told Cain. He is most probably back to being leader, I mean they did have the second party together. So it should be Moordryd.
b) Not really, they were all stiff and bored.
c) Besides Moodryd and Cain, I think about 2 or so. They are also there when Cain in stealing Dragon and when he confronts council about his new crew.
Katana - October 22, 2006 01:49 AM (GMT)
Well 37 episodies, and we don´t have any good "end" by the history, I am so Sick.
I think Word and Armagedon Will "talk" in the next episodie but we can´t see a real change in the show.
turkmen - October 22, 2006 07:53 AM (GMT)
I believe that Armeggeddon is going to get seriously pissed with Moordryd (the glowing amulet in the end) and will probably become a bigger threat to him. It's about time he does something drastic. We had a glimpse of what he's capable of in 'The Defiant' and my guess is that we won't see his full grace until the climatic ending.
I'm still unsure if he's using Moordryd completly or is he really going to keep his promises. Somehow I doubt that.
And also I two insignificant questions:
Is one of the appearing Dragon Eyes members Swayy? The green-haired girl?
And do we get to see Moordryd showing any expressions other his usual smirks and angry faces?
PyroWarriorZ - October 22, 2006 10:02 AM (GMT)
*Thinks* I think they were both guys, but I'm 100% sure, just pretty sure.
And yes we do see some Moodryd expressions, especially when he wants to tell Cain his secret but can't. You even see some nice Shadow Booster expression, well eye expressions cause thats all you can see.
Bedouin Pirate - October 22, 2006 04:50 PM (GMT)
I kind of think Moordryd's emotions today will be the downfall of the Shadow Booster as we know it. I get the feeling that a Shadow Booster needs to be 100% ruthless, whereas Moordryd expressed that he cared for his friend, Cain. He even went as far as disobeying his master, which is pretty serious business as we've seen what that guy is capable of a few times now.
Now I'm thinking about it, maybe Moordryd will keep his powers but eventually, when it comes down to it, turn to good. It's cliché I know, but we've seen him do things like that from time to time, and he doesn't really seem to want a Dragon/Human war, he just wants to defeat the Dragon Booster.
Kereea - October 23, 2006 12:11 AM (GMT)
Maybe this time Moordyd will finally break free.....he went from taking orders from daddy to taking them from a peice of jewlery.......Did anybody record this for screenshots?

That we can't do. I don't have the equipment to make screenshots and Pyro's video machine isn't working (last I heard)
Personally I think Moordryd is going to go off on his own not taking orders from anyone. He rebelled a lot against Amegadon in this ep, there were a few times Amegadon popped up and told the shadow booster "I didn't give you permission....." something like that.

Aw, that's such a shame... but it's still great we've got you two aroud! :)
Moordryd defing his evil talking amulet (of doom!), I never saw it comming. In the end he is the biggest rebel in the show, I'd never expect him to go against Armeggaddon, who was supoused to be a kind of father/tutor figure to him.
He wouldn't let Word die in 'No Paynn, No Gain', and now he's defending Cain's honour. One of the most dynamic characters that was ever made in a western cartoon.

Aw, please, everything is ruled by cliché these days. The world is at this point of a postmodernistic trap, where everybody is copying somebody else.
It matters how to tell an old cliché story in a new way, a way that would interest people and perhaps even discover something unique.
Bedouin Pirate - October 24, 2006 04:52 PM (GMT)
You're right. Artha is just a big cliché as Moordryd, however Artha has Beau with him to put him in line, which happens quite often. Artha is a lovable kind of cliché too, as he's the good guy. Moordryd is just the cliché evil guy that you don't love becuase he does bad deeds and you don't hate cause you know he'll be good sometime in the future. At least IMO. But admitedly it's a hard role to make decent. The only character I've seen in a similar situation and actually have it work is Prince Zuko in Avatar. He's the same character but he actually shows severe emotional damage and personality beyond his characters initial cliché.
turkmen - October 24, 2006 07:21 PM (GMT)
Yes indeed, Zuko's character was played very nicely. But Avatar and DB are quite diffrent when it comes to deal with the characters. In DB the authors don't let us see much depth in the characters, like oh-so-great-emotions, although it is there but it's not exposed in a very strong way. The same goes about their pasts, any bigger background story etc. Like in Moordryd's case, we can only speculate about his past and what made him the way he is now. The story concentrates more on who they are now, their actions and present emotions. A great, angsty and dramatic story that would make everybody cry wouldn't just fit there.
On the other hand what I find good is that Moordryd is not going to change into a goody-two-shoes overnight. It's a long and slow process, it has been streached since episode 11 till now. And look at his relationship with Cain, Cain himself... normal people who happend to land on the other side of the baricade with more flaxible morality.

Thank goodness for that. That would be plain freaky.
I never thought about it before but you're right. Zuko is like Moordryd, except we see his feelings more. I hope the writers let the characters show more emotions in future episodes, it'd make the series a lot more dramatic. But not too much emotion, just a bit more than they are now.

I have to agree. I think if Dragon Booster is picked up by any station I'd prefer it to go to Nickelodeon after seeing how well they can handel a scifi/fantasy drama cartoon (Avatar). Nick have always been good with producing some quality kiddy-"comedies" whereas CN/WB has done well with the more teenage stuff.
Avatar just completely obliterates that set standard, as there really isn't a cartoon out there that's as good as Avatar IMO. I'd say it's better than DB, for two reasons;
1. Better character development, or actual character development. The only character we've seen develop really is Moordryrd and as already established he's nothing on comparison to Avatar's version of him, Zuko. But if the series continues I'm looking forward to Booster development, in terms of Parm and Kitt, Lance too if he becomes a Booster.
2. Battle animation. DB is brilliant for it, the alternation between dragon and rider having to work together is great, and the whole mag system works brilliantly, especially with the introduction of the mag blasts. However, Avatar's battles are just jaw dropping. An exmaple of just how truly good it is, is when Katara battled the Water Master to proove she ws powerful. It was one of the s beautiful pieces of animation I've ever watched.
Woops, way for me to go off-topic.
