How do I gain points and, damage my apponents gear???

The main way you gain points is to win battles. You gain points equal to the difference in "sprint" values at the conclusion of the battle if you're the winner. You can also use gear to affect the points. For example, using
Light Blue Stun Gear causes your opponent to lose two points each time you use it, and
Purple Glue Gear causes your opponent to lose a point every time they win a battle.
If you want to damage a rival's gear, you can use the green event card
Malfunction or
Bring It On!. Similarly, you can play a maneuver like
Power Shot that damages gear when you play it. The maneuver
Rule By Might let's you damage two pieces of gear. You can also use gear to damage your opponent's gear, such as using
Red Heat Wave Gear.
All sorts of different ways to play things. :)

Only Beau can mag all gear right from the start. However, there are ways to add to the gear you mag onto other dragons. For example, if you're running any of the Penn Racing dragons, you can recruit
Connor Penn and he allows you to add another color to your dragon. Among other things, this allows you to mag gear that you couldn't otherwise use.
If you're running another dragon from a different crew, you can first play
The Down City Council card which then allows you to recruit from other crews, and then you can recruit Connor and add a color to your dragon, which in turn lets you get at other gear colors.

So, with the connor card, I can equip all colored geAR or just 1 extra color?

Just one extra color. With trading card games, you follow the text on the cards literally. So the card says "... choose a color. Your dragon gains that color" where "a color" means one color. Whenever the singular noun is used, it always means "one".

Yes, you can! Dragon and crew cards are considered to be separate things, so you can have both in play at once.

Then you can't do anything, so you pass your turn and hope your opponent doesn't hurt you too badly during the battle phase. :) There is gear that will help protect you if you don't have a maneuver in play. And you can also use the good old Stun Gear or Glue Gear to sap some points from your opponent if nothing else.
In general though, you'll want to build your deck with a good deal of energy one maneuvers so that there's a good chance you'll draw at least one on turn 1. If you have four copies of Immense Power in your deck, then you have a chance of using that to search your deck for the maneuver you need if you don't draw it.

Turn 1 Draw Main Rush Battle (Determine Winner Here)
Turn 2 Draw Main Rush Battle etc. |
Yes, but don't forget to gear-up. This happens between Draw and Main. Also, the Rush phase can consist of multiple battles. You keep battling as long as there are maneuvers in the Zone.

I can't open the file can you give a short account of what we are supposed to do?
The Furox - December 12, 2006 05:48 PM (GMT)
That probably means you don't have the Adobe Acrobat reader installed on your computer. You can get it free from here:

What would you say a very good starter deck would be?
The Furox - December 28, 2006 05:18 PM (GMT)
Pretty much what I said over on the
Cool Combos thread. Largely it depends what dragons and gear you have and how many cards you have. Pick events that will work with your dragon and that do something useful. If you have any gold events, you'll generally want all of them in your deck (up to four copies of each). Otherwise, load your deck with mostly maneuvers. You want to have mostly the lower energy values and only a few of the higher values to get started.
Then you'll just need to play and see what works. If you really want to get into it, you'll need to buy booster packs to get more gear, crew and rare cards. Boosters are also the only way to get most of the other dragons.
