Title: If you could ride a dragon...

Airshadow - August 24, 2005 02:42 PM (GMT)
What dragon would be?

The Furox - August 24, 2005 05:55 PM (GMT)
Beau and Wyldfyr would be my choices. In addition to just riding, I would of course want to try out some races and a game of drag ball. Gotta have the full experience. :)

I would like to ride Cyrano, in spite of he's ugly he's so cute and to be honest I'm scared to run at high speed, at least in Cyranno isn't problably that I cause an accident

The Furox - August 24, 2005 09:39 PM (GMT)
Let's expand this question a little. In addition to what dragon(s) you would want to ride, what would you do if you could visit Dragon City?

So would it be:
  • Compete in a race
  • Slap Artha in the face and tell him to grow up
  • Tell Mortis to take that #%@* mask off
  • Get Moordryd's phone number and find out if he's free for dinner
  • or something else

[*]Get Moordryd's phone number and find out if he's free for dinner

I would add to the option that I've quoted above:

* Reseach all Word Paynn's plots in order to Show them for all dragon city.
* Visit one of Dragon city's mall
* I would like to ride Beau if he just walk around.
* Watch a new born baby dragon

Oh, that's a good one. We haven't seen any baby dragons yet but I'm sure they're ridiculously cute. Of course, if they chew on everything the way puppies do, they might be a bit dangerous to handle, that is if you value your fingers. :)

I wonder how big dragon eggs are and hence how big dragons are when they hatch?

hummm

I guess that If teens dragons are a little bigger than Artha and I guess that baby ones would be a littler bigger than a lion

And haw can they do as new born? if they looks you first they may think that you're their mommy and I guess that they may behave at lest for first days as every cub, crawling around, whinning, eating and sleep

Starting his Fangirl Association in 3, 2, 1...now!

Moordryd: AAAAAUUUUGH!!! *runs like heck from a hundred screaming fangirls*

Hey, wait for me! :P

If I could ride one of the dragons, it would be Decepshun, since Decepshun can be fast, and she's quite loyal and not that feisty. And besides trying to get Moordryd's phone number, I'd also be the craziest person in Dragon City. I'd torture Parm and Artha and run from Lance after taunting him on how cute he is. Kitt I would probably not taunt, because from her spunky attitute I'd most likely end up with a broken nose.

 All of the above. Though I think Artha's earned more than a slap. :P

I'd ride either Wyldfyr or Decepshun, though I doubt either would let me. :)

Daigerus - August 25, 2005 02:53 AM (GMT)
I would like to try riding on Fracshun. Or at least see if I could carry him. And maybe try to get a ride on Abandonn or Hyve. ^^; Seriously though, I'll try to make the Penn racing team standing for a portrait and I draw them and give it to them while running away, snickering while they try to figure out how they're supposed to look like.

Other things I'd like to do:

- Try to explore Sun City
- Get a blue, black or brown dragon (or at least borrow one)
- Try to get Libris' address
- Find some hamburgers
- Learn about possible celebrities
- ??? :ph43r:

hyperpsychomaniac - August 25, 2005 12:02 PM (GMT)
-steal Parm's gloves
-steal Parm's boxers
-give Beau a list of new pranks to play on Artha (such as stopping suddenly in the middle of a race and letting Artha fly out of the saddle)
-steal some Gear
-hug Parm
-steal Abbandon (gosh, I'm nicking alot of stuff! )

Ryshah - August 25, 2005 03:17 PM (GMT)
Ride Cyrano
Play Dragball
Steal a dragon egg and take it home with me

Wow. A lion-sized newly hatched dragon would mean one mighty big egg. If that were the case, I'd feel really sorry for the female dragons.

So let's see, why don't we compare with dinosaur eggs. A quick internet search tells me the largest dinosaur egg ever found was 19 inches long. It also says that most dino eggs varied in size from tennis ball size to football size. So let's use 19 inches as the upper bound and since most of the dragons we see are smaller than the largest dinosaurs, let's guess an egg size of around 12 to 14 inches. Reptiles are always curled up in a ball inside the egg, so a dragon in a 14-inch egg might have a body that's roughly 20 inches long give or take (not counting the tail). So I'm going to guess that a newly hatched dragon would be about the size of say an adult Shetland Sheepdog for comparison. I think that would be in the ballpark anyway.

Yeah, I'd like to see Libris in person, too. At least, when he's in a good mood that is. And trying the Horn of Libris race track with Beau would be a must.

And take in count that it may be smaller, 'cause usually puppies and cubs are ver small when they are new born and the grow up pretty fast...

çAnd personally I will died due fear if I see Libris close to me even if he or she 's in good mood

Well, those eggs we saw in Three Times a Hero didn't look that big in comparison . . . .

The Furox - August 26, 2005 07:44 AM (GMT)
Did they actually show us the eggs in that episode? I don't remember that off hand. The truck was supposed to be hauling eggs but was empty except for Artha and Beau as I recall.

LightningFlash - August 26, 2005 07:56 AM (GMT)

You mean just because Libris almost stepped on Lance and nearly squashed him like a bug? :)

Nah, I think Libris is OK now that his mood swings are under control. (And I'm still hoping Libris will return in a future episode.) I think Propheci would potentially be more dangerous given his negative attitude towards most humans. Though I still wouldn't mind seeing Propheci if he'd agree to be civil about it. ;)

Heh that's one I'd try... off hand I think a dragon egg wouldn't be very big. Maybe about nine inches max for the norm.
I'd at least try to ride a light blue dragon (Highdive was really cool even if they did only show him once...) especially if their half as much fun as I think they are.

Things I'd do:
- Kick artha upside the head for bein' a moron (I claim first in line!!)
-Give Beau a few new pranks to pull
-Drive Word crazy in as many ways as I could think of...
-Create total chaos in the city itself (two hours tops...dragon city security would hate me...)
-Explore the ruins
-Tie race marshall budge to street light for his dragon's sake. (Don't ask. And I'm pretty sure he has a dragon.)
-Find out what the rest of the Murhorta looks like
-steal Mortis' mask (cause you know he'll never take it off without the 'Artha I am your father' moment.)

You're nuts! Then again, we probably all are...

Hey, speaking of masks and the "Kid I am your father" moment, did Anakin Skywalker's face get damaged in any way with the mask?

I'd also like one of those flash sticks. Seeing as I like tasering thingies, I'd like a flash stick as well...oooh, and a disruptor flash, and a disruptor mine, and a disruptor blackout (okay, too many disruptor thingies...), and some Draconee-Yum bars to sample, and, oh yes, steal Word's supply of coffee and switch it with decaf, then watch him run in circles screaming at the top of his lungs while Moordryd watches in disbelief. :D

Kairos~Lokorr - August 27, 2005 05:39 AM (GMT)
I don't think the mask did anything to him...and ya I'm pretty sure we're all nuts. B)
And now I know who wrote that fic...Or at least read it...(found it earlier on fanfic.net)

Dragon eggs seem to be a popular souvenir, don't they. Given the high dragon population, I imagine eggs would be readily available and you could probably get one quite easily. Unless of course dragons are possessive with their eggs, in which case I'll watch you from a safe distance. :)

Unless someone can find the way to make him invisible, as Wright Dragons

The Furox - August 28, 2005 01:52 AM (GMT)
Good point. Steal a cloaking device from Word first. Then there's just the small issue of what if he doesn't want to go with you. Offer him a candy bar, perhaps? A truck-load of them?

Anakin's face was messed up prior to him putting on the Darth Vader outfit (you get to see it all in Star Wars episode 3 if you haven't seen that one).

Ah, so you read the background signs, too. Good. That makes me feel better. I'm not the only one who does that. :)

The thing I'm wondering about though is whether Draconee-Yum is human food or dragon food. The stands that sell them are at the race track, so it seems possible it might be snack food for your dragon, perhaps like a Power Bar kind of thing that they eat before the race for extra energy.

Well, judging from Skylii's description of the episode "Artha the Drac", I think Artha's reactions may have implied that it was mainly meant for humans, since otherwise he wouldn't have agreed to eating dragon food in a moment's notice.

No, actually, they mentioned the name of Draconee-Yum bars in "Leap of Lorius" and "Artha the Drac", but yeah, in my spare time I do try reading Draconian. (Has anybody else besides me noticed how the words are sometimes flipped?) There's even a type of candy bar for dragons, called Dragonola. Quote Artha, "Bleagh! It tastes like old scales!".

Ah, well that answers that then. The concession stands in the race area with the Draconee-Yum signs are selling candy bars. Nice that it ties together.

Yep. Most notably the lettering on the back of Artha's racing jacket is flipped.

Actually it might be made for both Dragons and humans or at least thats the impression I get, 'specially since Beau is always snatchin' arthas candy bars whenever he gets the chance and that Artha and he eat the same ones.
The fact that the two races have been together for thousands of years kinda makes the point. Kinda makes sense there would be foods that both species could eat without a problem.

The Furox - August 29, 2005 05:04 AM (GMT)
That's probably the case, as well. My dog will happily eat just about anything I eat (and I'm of course very careful to make sure he doesn't get anything that's bad for him) so I could easily believe a dragon eating any kind of human food and loving it. Though it may not work the other way around in that a human may not want to eat dragon food. I could eat dog food if I had to, but I certainly wouldn't want to eat it. :)

And to back this up with something from the real world, a couple of companies actually make treats that can be consumed by both humans and dogs. It's basically human-grade food that's also safe for dogs to eat. It's a novelty item, of course, but it's real. Here's the link in case you're curious:

Sammy Snacks - Treats for People and Dogs

Given how tightly dragons are integrated into the society of Dragon City, it wouldn't be surprising to find lots of these types of products there.

- throw yellow bellied newts at Cain and then laugh when he runs around screaming
- Steel a wraith dragon...eh, somehow....
- Dragon joust....wow, I'm weird......
- Get silly string and a paintball gun. Fire paint ball gun at the dragon eye compound and then spray silly string all over the Dragon Eye compound also.
- run for my life after doing so.
- Throw a pile of dragon dung at Word.

It would probably be...... Wildfyr, Hyve, or Beau.

I'm actually wondring what it would be like riding a dragon of the opposite gender, I have for a while.

And Beau......because he's Beau. :P
