Title: Untold Legends
Description: K/A Kitt has some secrets some can kill
destinysholder - August 22, 2006 11:59 PM (GMT)
Kitt has never discussed her past, not surprising neither do a lot of people. Though those people probably aren’t the Dragon Princess who ran away from the Temple of the Dragon because she didn’t want to marry a creepy god who had put a curse on her ancestor who happened to be married to the first dragon booster. Yeah probably not.
NOW she has deal with keeping her long held secret from the rest of the gang, trying to run away from her past and a god, plus she has to try to NOT fall in love with Artha!
Total insanity that’s better then it sounds I promise!!
Untold Legends
It was over three thousand years ago, in the Temple of the Dragon that she was born. Not uncommon, many women had been born in the temple. It was the home of the gold dragon priestesses. But this child was different from those born before it. Not only was she born with a dragon partner, but she was born with special powers no human had been gifted with before. Such as the ability to tame any dragon, to be able to communicate with dragons and even the ability to take on some dragon features. It was for these abilities that she was given the title “Dragon Princess”
And it was for this reason that she was chosen by the god Sotayo, who was said to have minor control over time and to have gifted humans with dragons; to be his bride and mother of his children. An honor she was not eager to receive.
So before she was at a marring age she ran from the temple, her only home; and headed for Dragon City on her red dragon: Spitephyre (Pronounced Spite-Fire, NOT Spit-fire).
It was here that she met the first dragon booster. He had been chosen before birth to be the partner of the black and gold dragon, to uphold the peace in the land by the gods, like herself. She had come to traveling with him helping him keep the evil from the city.
They had become close in the years that they worked together and had found that they couldn’t stand to be apart. And soon they were engaged for marriage.
When Sotayo learned of this he became infuriated and used his powers to cause the fist human dragon war to try to destroy the dragon booster. Which the war had nearly done, but the other gods had taken pity on the princess’s plea’s for help and gave them allies from there own armies. The warriors that they sent came to be know as the golden dragon priests and had helped the dragon booster and the princess win the war.
As soon as the war had ended the dragon booster and the princess had gone into hiding, marrying in secret.
But the dragon war was not the end of Sotayo’s wrath, for when he had realized the war’s end had been upon him he had put a curse on the princess so that with the birth of the first child she would die.
Two years went by and the birth of their first child came up to them with the death of the princess coming soon after. The dragon booster knowing that Sotayo would hunt him till the ends of his days took his new born daughter to the temple that her mother had been born in to be raised by her grandmother and the other priestesses. There had only been one question all understanding his reasons.
“What is her name?”
The first dragon booster looked at his daughter on last time before saying.
“Kittana, after her mother.”
Your destiny’s is the same as those before you Kittana; you have run from it and into the same trap that the first was snared in. But remember my child that you have your duty that you where born into and that you have no other choice but to serve your purpose…
Kitt jumped up from sleep. Looking around she saw that the rest of the little group was still fast asleep, and judging from how dark it was it was no surprise. She took in a deep breath before she realized that there was a comforting nudge coming from her side. She looked down and saw Wyldphire trying to reassure her sensing her distress.
Kitt smiled as she rubbed Wyldphire’s head, she and Wyldphire had been dragon human partners since their very first day. Born, or in this case; hatched on the same day and hadn’t been separated since.
Kitt sighed; now that she was awake (thanks to that oh so welcomed memory) she wouldn’t be able to fall back to sleep and her training with Artha wouldn’t start till sunrise. There was a race in a few weeks that had really one rule: no saddles. And somehow, she wasn’t sure it was possible, Artha didn’t know how to ride bareback. It seemed especially absurd to her considering how Bao’s body shape was perfect for it.
“Hey Wyldphire how about a little midnight ride through Old City for old times sake?” She asked the red dragon, who jumped up with a dragon grin on her face. Kitt stifled a giggle s she got up and snuck out with her closest friend being sure not to wake anyone.
Once they where safely out of earshot of the others Wyldphire magged her on and they took off into the direction of Old City the place that so reminded them of the home they left long ago.
Ok peoples I know this is short and kind of sucks but I’m tired and sick and on Nyquil so shove it. Any way I promise that the next chapters will be longer and better then this and that i'll be less evil…meh.

It's plain old fashioned good manners to at least wait for some feedback before telling people where to put it. If this is the confidence you have in your story, why should we even bother to read it?
It is also not advisable to post on a public forum if you're not willing to hear people's opinions. I understand that you are sick, but this is not a good way to kick off your membership here with us, so please watch that attitude. :)

I'm not exactly inclined to give you a real review either. "I know this sucks but I have an excuse" isn't the way you want to end a chapter. Your readers don't really care what circumstances you wrote the story under. If you were high on Nyquil you could have waited a couple of days to read the fic over and make corrections (which you need to). There are quite a few capitilization, punctuation, grammatical, and spelling errors you need to fix.
Sorry, it's just one of those unwritten taboos: Thou wilt not censur thy critics. Sometimes you wish you could, but generally...in just makes them more hostle...

Hello everyone! Ok I realize that some of you didn't like what I had to say at the end of the last chapter and I know that it was WAY out of line and I'm sorry for that, but I would just like to say that I'm doing this for fun and to get input on my stories. I would like to appoligize for what I said and I agree that, yes it was very rude of me to put that down, but if you only care about what I say before or after a chapter then this really isn't the story for you. I'll do my best not to post chapters when I'm a grouch and/or sick.
Hate what I have to say, hate my story if you want, no-one is forcing you to read something you don't like. Thank you for reviewing and I'll do my best to take your advice, if you find that I'm doing something I shouldn't or I make a mistake I would GREATLY appreciate it if you guys would tell me, and again I'm really really sorry about how rude I was in the last chapter and I'll do my absolute best to not let that happen EVER again!
Hope you guys like this chappie better then the last! Thanks!

It was early morning and the sun was just starting to smudge the dark sky with grays and pinks. The entire city was quiet save for one or two early birds going off to work for the day.
Even at Penn Stables there wasn’t a sound to be made in the dim twilight morning, until…
BRRRRRRRRRIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIINNNNNNNNNNG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The slumbering occupants jerked awake most screaming in shock.
Artha jumped up with Beau looking around franticly for any sign of trouble before spotting the still ringing alarm clock. Beau growled in annoyance before delivering a strong mag-blast and blowing it up.
“Really Beau must you destroy every alarm clock we have, I just bought this one yesterday to replace the last one you blew up!!” Parm huffed as he gestured to the chard remain of the clock to the large red and blue dragon who only chuckled in return.
While the two older boys finally got up and were heading to the kitchen to get breakfast where interrupted by the youngest amongst them.
“Hey where’s Kitt and Wyldfyr?” Lance asked as he looked around the now emptied stall. Artha and Parm realizing that the fourth and fifth members of their crew stopped.
“Maybe she’s giving Wyldfyr a bath.” Artha said as he stifled a yawn.
“At six o’clock in the morning?” Parm asked raising an eye brow in obvious non belief.
Artha shrugged “Just a suggestion.” Beau only rolled his eyes at Artha’s weak excuse for the disappearances of their missing teammates.
“Hey all her gear and stuff is still here!” Lance shouted from the tack room, they came in and found that yes her saddle and all her gear was still there, including her helmet.
Beau bit back a growl at this new evidence. He didn’t like not having Kitt and Wyldfyr close by. He knew their past and had promised to keep their secret from Artha but he couldn’t help but feel worried every time that they were separated from the rest of the group, wondering if they had made a choice and had left to return to their home in the temple. Leaving he and Artha behind in heart-brake. Yes he the great black and gold dragon had fallen for Wyldfyr, and hard. Just like Artha had fallen for Kitt.
“Parm can you pick up her signal?” Lance asked he didn’t look worried to the un-searching eye but it was obvious to the dragons that he was near panic over Kitt’s disappearance. She had been his older sister figure for the past two years and he couldn’t help but think that horrible things could have happened to her with the Dragon Eye crew running around trying to find ways to get to the dragon booster, her being the best way to do so.
“Yes I can, she’s in…Old City? Why would she be there?” He asked as he looked up from his electronic pad confusion evident on his face. Artha who had been looking through out the tack room turned to look at Parm.
“Well the stuff we were going to use to practice for the race are gone, I’d say she went ahead to get everything set up for training.”
“Well let’s go then!!” Lance excitedly said worry instantly gone knowing that Kitt had only gone ahead in order to prepare to teach him and the rest new moves.
888
Kitt and Wyldfyr were running away.
Not From Artha or Lance or Parm or even from the destiny that had been chosen for them thousands of years ago. They were running away from nothing, everything. It didn’t matter; all that they cared about was the freedom of running away. A joy they hadn’t felt since all those years ago the day they had escaped their destiny if only for a while.
They ran faster and more recklessly then they ever would have in a race, jumping from one basin of rock to the next not caring that they were well exceeding the speed limit for a normal dragon or even Beau at a time or two. They just ran.
The first thing they did once they had gotten to Old City was to find a proper place for training and set everything up. It didn’t take long after a few minutes of searching they had found the perfect place. It was looked a bit like a canyon with steep rock walls on each side, but one wall hade a verity of holes and ledges jutting out and hiding within it. As well as some loose rocks and places where the ground could slide. The other wall was completely smooth and actually was made out of dirt instead of rock like the other one, perfect for target practice. The only thing they really had to do was clear the wide path down the center of any rocks or debris so as if anyone fell (or was thrown) off while riding they wouldn’t kill themselves (cough cough Artha cough cough).
Wyldfyr speed up some more planning to jump a rather large space between two ledges. They where about five feet from the ledge when they heard a shout to stop from a rather familiar voice. Wyldfyr who had become distracted by the voice slammed on the brakes nearly sending Kitt flying had it not been for her excellent balance. She looked down and saw Artha, Parm, and Lance all staring up at them with wide eye’s it was at this time that Kitt and Wyldfyr realized their unnatural speed.
Kitt sighed it looked like she was going to have to do another memory wipe, she was doing those a lot lately and she wasn’t happy about it. Especial since it had been mostly Artha’s mind she had been wiping of her little slip-ups.
She raised her hand feeling the bubble of power grow and swirl in her stomach. It felt hot inside her to the point that she felt cold, and as it swirled about anxious for use she could have sworn she felt it turn her blood to ice water as it moved through out her body. Opening her palm she released it, a small amount of glowing gold light that floated down like a mist. It separated into three more clouds and was absorbed by Artha, Lance and Parm. She didn’t need to wipe Beau, Fracshun, and Syrano’s minds they already knew about her and had already promised to keep her secrets.
The boys blinked a few times as the memory wipe took effect before their unfocused eyes made Kitt and Wyldfyr.
“Bout time you guys showed up I was about to go drag you here myself!” Kitt shouted down to them with a smile on her face, she felt the slick feeling of her powers return to her invisibly.
“Well sorry but we didn’t realize that when you said ‘first thing in the morning’ that you meant DAWN!” Artha shouted back up to her. He had the strangest feeling that something was missing like he should know something but it was jut out of his grasp. He had been having this feeling a lot recently, he hadn’t given it much thought but it had started appearing out of know where constantly now. And it bothered him, even more then if Word Pynne had found out that he was the dragon booster, why? Simple, because this feeling only ever happened when he was with Kitt and he was starting to think she was holding back something important that he needed to know.
Kitt only rolled her eyes at him before jumping from ledge to ledge till she and Wyldfyr were safely on the ground in front of the rest of the gang.
“That’s totally DRAKE!!!” Lance yelled at the fact that she was only sitting on Wyldfyr’s back instead of being held on by the saddle or by being held on by a mag-blast.
“Well come on you guys need to learn how to do that in your sleep if we’re going to have a chance in that race.” Kitt said taking off towards the area she had set up for them. This time at a more average speed for a dragon.
888
They were going to die.
It was as simple as that in Artha’s mind. Sure Parm had a fighting chance with how large Syrano was, but he and Lance were dead for sure. How in the world did Kitt make it look so easy? And with Wyldfyr most likely being one of the hardest dragons to ride without a saddle.
He and the others had gotten as far as getting the saddles off but that was it. Fracshun kept following Lance every time he tried to jump on and inevitably walking in a circle around Lance, Syrano was fine with standing still but Parm couldn’t seem to get high enough to pull himself on and as for Artha well…
Beau had created his own little game of ‘Watch- Me-Do-What-Ever-I-Can-To-Annoy-Artha’ and was currently lying on his back with his tongue sticking out playing dead, all the while his eye(the one that was open) followed Artha’s every move. While this was going on Kitt sat with her back against Wyldfyr who had laid out under the shade of the one wall as the watch the circus in front of them.
“Ok, stop all ready you’re starting to look like clowns.” Kitt said standing up. She walked over to Lance and Fracshun first.
“First off, get him in position before you start trying to jump on. Then ask him to stay in place or ask someone else to hold him for you.” Lance did as he was told and wouldn’t you know it he was able to get on with try. Kitt then walked over to help Parm with his little problem.
“Here just have him lean down by pushing on the pressure point on the side of his neck.” She pointed to the point and Parm presses it, Syrano leaned down into a kneeling position making him short enough for Parm to get on. Then there was Artha and Beau, she walked over and stood by Artha shaking her head slightly with her hands on her hips.
“I tried everything but he won’t get up!” Artha said exasperated when she looked at him with a ‘how the hell did you let this happen?’ look. She sighed before fishing out a Draco-yum chocolate bar from the pouch on her side and handing it to him. “Just use bribery like a normal person.” She then turned and walked back over to the now standing Wyldfyr. Artha looked down at the chocolate bar in his hand and saw that he already had the full attention of the red and blue dragon at his feet.
888
When every one final was on the lesson began.
“Ok now who knows how to steer with out a saddle?” Silence.
“Right. Of course.” Kitt mumbled under her breath. “Ok so to walk gently tap their sides with your feet.” She then showed them before stopping. “Now you.” She said pointing to Artha hoping that he had at least enough sense to not kick to hard. Artha looked down and gave Bao a nice kick, one which had he kicked in the right spot would have been perfect, but instead Beau jumped ten feet in the air and sent Artha flying. Kitt and Wyldfyr winced slightly at the thud sound he had made when he had it the ground but Lance and Parm only paled before Syrano magged Parm off and Fracshun dropped to the ground content to not let their riders do that to them.
Three hours later when ever one had finally been convinced and/or threatened to try again Kitt showed them how to correctly do it.
“All right lets try this again.” If they didn’t end up getting kill by there own stupidity first she would end up ringing their necks.
Lance tried first, always the rash one; and applied some pressure to Fracshun’s side and to Kitt’s immense joy it was the right place. Fracshun on his part started to walk.
“Good now use you right calf and add some pressure.” He did this and found that he was moving right. “Alright now to your left.” He went left. Kitt smiled happy that she had finally gotten something through to these boneheads.
“Now apply some pressure to his back with your upper legs to make him stop.” And the prize goes to… “Great job Lance you got it before the great dragon booster.” Artha only responded by pointing his tongue at Lance who did the same to him. Kitt only rolled her eyes as she shook her head. “Alright you two cut it out. Artha, Parm hopefully you let yourselves be bested by a kid who hasn’t been in a race before.”
It looked like luck would be on Kitt’s side today, Parm and Artha had finally figured it out and now the three boys were practicing by having walking races. Well at least they hadn’t been magged off, that was something…she guessed.
Meanwhile the boys were racing…sorta. Currently Beau was in the lead with Fracshun not far behind and Syrano…well he looked like he was moving, kind of, if you squint, and in the right light, if you were blind.
Fracshun was tempted to start a little trot in order to get the lead but the memory of Artha in that pile of dirt when Beau had thrown him made him hold back. His tail swished the ground lightly as he walked not thinking much about it being use to the concrete that resided in Dragon City, so it came as quite a surprise to the young dragon when he felt something take a snap at his tail.
He shrieked and jumped before tearing into the other direction, Lance somehow still holding on.
“I’ll get him you guys stay here… and try to go a little faster.” Kitt said before head after him knowing that there was no way those two would be able to keep up with Fracshun without killing themselves, and the young dragon would be long gone by the time the got their saddles on and went after him.
It didn’t take long to catch up to them no matter how frantic the young dragon was there was no way he was going to match Wyldfyr’s speed. Unfortunately finding them was the easy part, Fracshun had ignored Wyldfyr’s attempts to consol him and was thrashing about to much for Kitt to grab Lance who was still mercilessly hanging on. She really had only one option left…
She felt her powers quiver in excitement underneath her skin once again turning her blood into ice. She reached out her had and gently placed it on Fracshun’s neck allowing an unseen blue mist transfer itself from one to the other. Fracshun slowly calmed down slowing before coming to a complete stop.
Lance, whose mop of red hair now splayed out in all directions, had a goofy grin on his face. “Can I do that again?” was all he asked before falling off Fracshun’s back with a thud and a cloud of dust.
Kitt was about to respond when she head a hissing sound. She looked behind her and saw a very angry, very in trouble wild dragon. She was on her side and from the large bulge where her stomach was she had an egg. She hissed again drawing her lips back to bare her fangs, and pulling her legs up to cover her stomach to protect her egg. Kitt looked at Wyldfyr and saw that she was already a step ahead of her. She had magged Lance to a spot behind some rocks for protection and had used her mag energy to push the still calm-to-the-point-of-collapsing Fracshun over with him. Kitt jumped down from her seat and nodded, Wyldfyr in turn ran back to the practice area to get the remainder of the group.
Kitt looked over to the rock outcrop and saw that Lance was still out for the count. ‘Good I don’t want to have to do another memory wipe today.’ She turned back to the dragon and started to walk towards her slowly. Wild dragons rarely lived by themselves, especially ones ready to lay there eggs and judging by the fact that the dragon before her didn’t have a pack, nest, or even dug out area to sleep in she had been run out by other dragons and was forced to not lay her egg causing the hatchling to try to hatch while the egg was still inside of it’s mother.
She was about five feet from the pained dragon when her tail lashed out and struck Kitt across the arm. Kitt grunted at the pain but continued on she slowly got to her knees and stretched her hand out for the dragon to investigate. “It’s all right I just want to help you, I’m a friend.” The dragon seemed taken aback by her speaking to her but continued to not trust her all the same.
“Lire! You only wish to harm me and my egg!”
“No, I don’t. You know who I am and you know that I only want to help you. What’s your name?”
“…I am Sesshara of the Northern Ridge Pack. Yes I know who you are, but I’m afraid I have never learned your name…” Sesshara stopped growling and permitted Kitt to touch her.
“I am named after ‘The First’, I am Kittana.” Sesshara nodded her head before wincing in pain. “I’m going to help you Sesshara and so will my pack once they get here, but you must help us help you.”
“KITT!!” Kitt turned at hearing her name being called to see the dragon booster atop the black and gold dragon following Wyldfyr with Syrano and Parm doing their best to keep up with them.
“Over here I need your help!” Artha dismounted and ran over slowing when he saw the dragon. “She has an egg but it’s hatching inside of her, I need your help getting it out.” She explain hurriedly motioning to the bulge on Sesshara’s stomach. Artha nodded and slowly walked over with his hands out much like she did before.

In a gold temple built half way into the great mountain behind it a woman is sitting in a dark room with a single window. She has aqua blue hair and dark green, almost black; eyes. She’s wearing a long red silk kimono with dark red and light red dragons on it with gold embroidery to detail them. Around her neck there’s a leather necklace with a gold pendant on it. The pendant looks like the dragon booster star except it has a dragon curled around an egg in the center.
The woman is sitting at the foot of what can barely be seen as a thrown in front of a glowing silver pool. In the pool you can see Kitt, Artha, and Parm helping Sesshara and their voices can be vaguely heard.
“Kittana will be returning home shortly, and she will be willing.” The woman says as she watches the pool.
“How can you be so sure? She seems attached to the dragon booster.” A deep voice from the thrown asks. The woman gets an evil gleam in her eye as she puts her hand in the pool and swirls it around destroying the picture.
“Because she knows what the consequences are if she refuses.” The woman says almost musically cocking her head to the side allowing a dark smile lightly touch her lips as a new picture form in the pool, this time it’s a smiling Artha as he holds up the new dragon pup…

there will be oc parts for Kitt in this chapter but it’s required to move the story along so just bare with me. It should only be in this chapter and a few instances in later ones but that’s it! I promise! If there are more then I say there are you are welcome to take me to the lowest pits of hell and flame me ‘til I’m a pile of ash!
Kitt winced as Mortis wrapped up her arm. Sesshara had done a good amount of damage in her act of un-required self-defense causing a spiral fracture in her upper arm and leaving a deep gash along the limb starting at her shoulder and ending just above her wrist.
“So how did you all do with the training?” Mortis asked calmly. He was surprised at first by Kitt’s injury but after explaining what had happened he only lead Kitt over to a table and silently treated her wound.
“Well other then the fact that everyone kept getting thrown off, no one could go faster then a slow walk, Fracshun took off with Lance still on him and we had to convince a wild dragon not to kill us because we were trying to help her, it went great.” Kitt said with an oh so tiny bit of sarcasm. Artha just stuck his tongue out at her in response.
“Well I hope your training will go better next time, but for the next week or so I suggest that you stay off that arm, no riding, no shooting, and no hitting.” And with that Mortis left before Kitt could begin protesting. Artha bit back a laugh at the sight of the pouting street racer as she eyed her bandaged arm in distaste.
888
It wasn’t right. None of it was. Sesshara had said that she was from the northern ridge pack, but she was found deep in the border lands between Dragon City and Old City. A good hundred miles south of her pack’s territory, and without a single pack mate.
Kitt’s mind was full of problems with the conditions she had found the troubled wild dragon in. None of it added up, and Artha and the others had dragged her away before she could get some answers.
Though she really couldn’t be too angry at them for it they were only thinking of her injury, but that still didn’t stop her from giving them looks every time they would try to stop her from doing anything ‘strenuous’ with her arm. She had had worst happen to her in the past, much worst. And those injuries had just been playing around with sisters as a toddler.
She looked down at her arm as it hung in the sling they gave her, gently running her fingers of her good hand over the names and pictures that had been drawn on the cast by her friends. Never had anyone given enough care to do such a thing at her old home, most of the time if the damage was too serous and it had too be wrapped or attended to you did it yourself unless you were unable. Even in illness one was expected to tend to them self or die from the disease in solitude, for fear of spreading.
A smile graced her lips as she saw the squiggled picture of Kitt atop Wyldfyr chasing after Fracshun and Lance without a saddle, crookedly drawn by the ten year old who still asked her all she knew on the subject of bareback riding. She couldn’t stay forever, she knew that, but maybe she could stay for awhile longer. Just until she was done with this experiment, this trial run at freedom, then she would return and do what she was born to do. She would willingly consent to her destiny, her only purpose in life like all the generation before her. But unlike them she would be able to know, to tell what freedom really was, what love really was. Kitt snuggled down in the warmth that radiated from the bodies of her friends that surrounded her.
…Or maybe she could find a new path down destiny’s road, one without entrapment; no-one could take that too badly, right?
888
The woman in the temple watched with cold green eyes as the scenes unfolded before her a scowl angrily marring her face.
She had longed for freedom since birth, as had all generations in her family, wishing for more then what she was bred for. And as her ancestors before her had done she had banished these feelings and needs to the dark recesses of her mind in order too fulfill her inherited duty. Just as Kitt should have done, just as she was trained to do, but instead she stole away, acting on the meaningless emotion of longing. She was a coward, running away from her one and only purpose in life, disobeying those who she should have considered her masters, thinking them to only be equal to her and nothing more.
Even going so far as uniting the Black and Gold Dragon of legend with the Dragon Booster, preparing for if she refused her destiny and war was called. Moving in with him and his family when he had revealed to her who he really was. And now she was teaching the riders’ of the temple secrets to them just so they could win a race! She was pushing her boundaries and soon they were going to start pushing back.
The same icy smile glided onto the woman’s lips, soon enough they would be pushing back. Sisters had been sent to go on the hunt and shortly Kitt would be taught that destiny had been written and read as the same for the last three thousand years and would not be changed to suit her. She would be returned to them and she would be willing all that was left now was to wait.
All that Kitt needed was a little push…
888
A little girl about the age of four with blue hair and green eyes sat on a large silk pillow trying to learn an instrument that looked similar to a harp. Next to her on her own pillow was a red dragon that patiently lay beside her occasionally looking out the window of the marble room. In the corner a mattress with deep red sheets and a mountain of pillows can be seen, on each side of it there are dressers and next to one of those is was a vanity. On the other side of the room there are two doors, one is open allowing the marble bathroom to be seen and the other was a heavy wooden door with bars at the window of it, the wooden door also had a slot cut out of the bottom of it with two trays of half eaten food sticking out of it.
An angry cry can be heard from the girl as she fails another attempt at the song she is trying to learn. The dragon growls comfortingly and starts licking the girl across the face causing the girl to laugh and play-push her away.
‘Wyldfyhahar, hahahahaha st-haha-op! hahahahaha’ the girl pleads rolling on the ground attempting to get away from the cub dragon.
A click is heard and the two stopped standing at attention as the great wooden door swings open, in the doorway the woman from the temple stood, an uncaring frown set on her face as was expected.
The woman studied the child for a moment looking like a cat preparing to pounce on its prey before she spoke, “Kittana you are to begin your training in the temple tomorrow, and I expect that you will give your teachers no problems, correct.” The woman’s voice was no more then a purr, but the unsaid warning in it was enough to make the young girl shiver.
“Yes moth-” the woman’s eyes narrowed dangerously as the girl went to address her “Lady Kittana: Winter Queen.” The girl said the title of the woman with no emotion letting her eyes drop to the floor in defeat. The woman raised her head higher and let a cruel smile meet her face at the show of no resistance the girl showed. With a nod the woman walked over to the vanity and picked up the pink object on it, it looked similar to a head band only it had two extra arms sticking out the front and back, with a small gold jewel hanging from the front arm.
The smile that had been on her lips dropped at the sight of it. Her could eyes were trained on the girl now sitting on her pillow again head hanging low, but the woman could see her eye looking to see her reaction to the item.
Anger flared in the woman’s malicious eyes, and with slender pale hands she gripped the small object. But despite her cold battle ready appearance the woman’s voice was icily even and calm. “Where is it that you got this Kittana, you know you are not permitted to leave the tower.” A small frightened mumble was the only thing that could be heard from the child. “What? I couldn’t here you.”
“Father gave it to me.” It was barely a squeak. The woman’s hate filled eyes widen almost in pained surprise before narrowing. With her cold atmosphere following and the head piece in hand the woman walked from the room slamming the door shut behind her, there was a quiet clinking of keys before a click echoed throughout the sterol room indicating that the door had been locked again.
Blackness surrounded the scene washing away the dragon along with the crying girl she comforted.

The only light in the enormous cavern was given off by the lave that pooled onto the floor. Kitt stood at the foot of a huge thrown about a hundred feet tall on a small island that lie in the ocean of burning reds and yellows her arm was strangely unhindered by the cast. In the thrown hidden by shadows is a just large man looking down at her, all that can be seen of him is his outline and glowing red eyes. “You are mine Kittana, remember that. You are mine and shall be no-one else’s.” The deep voice shook her to the core. But she didn’t falter as she spoke.
“What if I don’t want to be your’s? What if I want freedom?” A powerful grow-like roar echoed throughout the cave as the being on the thrown made his anger at her questions known. Though she had already enraged the man she continued voice filled with confidence like her words. “I’m not like my ancestors, I’ve seen what real friendship is, I learned how to trust someone with fear of betrayal.” She paused for a moment as she decided then spoke this time quieter “I now know what to love someone really means…and now that I do I won’t consent.” She was surprised when she heard him laughing, a bitter sound that turned her veins to ice. He held up a hand (still hidden in shadows) and the lava swirled underneath it turning into a picture much like the silver pool in the temple. Kitt paled at the scene that she saw in the heated lava that he created. “Then this is what you have chosen for your precious dragon booster and your friends.”
Tears leaked from her eyes as she fell to her knees unable to look away from the horror of what he showed her.
In the pool the scene of Artha, Parm, and Lance lying motionless on the ground there dragons beside them. Each one had blood pooling around there pale forms. Artha was in his dragon booster form and Beau was gold and black though death had dimmed the brilliance of his scales. Close by Lance’s face was eternally frozen in pain and fear as he leaned next to the beaten Fracshun. Parm’s dark skin now as milky white as Kitt’s his knowledge hungry eyes empty of life, Syrano beside him green scales dirtied by the mud and blood that he lay in.
Kitt shook her head violently tears staining the heated ground before fizzling to nothing.
“This is the path you chose for them Kittana remember that. You still have time to rethink you decision”

Kitt jumped up from her sleep, tremors shook her slim frame as her tears mixed with the cold sweat that had formed in her sleep. She felt a hand on her shoulder and out of surprise swung at the body it belonged to with the arm that was firmly set in a cast. Fortunately for the poor person she swung at having a cast on her arm hindered her moment and speed so they were able to avoid the in coming arm.
“Kitt calm down! It’s me Artha!” The picture of Artha staring up lifelessly in a pool of his own blood appeared in Kitt’s head with the man’s words burning in her ears causing more tears to mare her face. Wyldfyr gently curled around her growling slightly at the others warning them to back off until the distraught racer was calmed.
Artha, Parm, Beau and Syrano backed away from the two over to where Mortis was. Lance was thankfully still asleep, how they didn’t know since Kitt had screamed so loud in her sleep that the people in the next in the city had heard her and called worried, and they lived three miles away.
“What ever it was that she dreamed really got to her.” Artha whispered watching as Kitt sobbed into Wyldfyr’s scaled body, her own body shaking uncontrollably. He felt a pang in his heart at the sight; Kitt was one of the strongest people he knew if not the strongest. Seeing her cry like she was and refuse help from him hurt, more then he thought it would.
Mortis nodded silently in return, Kitt had practically been his daughter for the last few years and he even considered his future daughter-in-law that is if Artha and she finally got over their fears. And in all that time he had never once seen her shed a tear over anything.
“Wyldfyr seems to be calming her down; when she is ready to talk it’s probably best if you speak to her Artha.” Artha’s eyes widened in surprised.
“Wait, why me? I mean Kitt probably wants a girl not the annoying ‘stable boy’.” He babbled not to sure if him being the one to comfort her would be such a good idea.
“Mortis is right Artha, you are the one she is closest to, well other then Wyldfyr…” Parm agreed speaking for the first time since they had brought Kitt down to the temple, Syrano nodded behind him.
“But…” he sighed. “Alright, I guess your right. Beau could you try to talk to Wyldfyr to see if she’s all right she seems pretty spooked too.” The now Black and Gold dragon who had been watching the distraught pair snapped his head in Artha’s direction, shaking his head vigorously indicating that he to wasn’t so sure about comforting the an upset female.
“Oh no, if I have to do it you do to!” Artha said before the dragon could find a way weasel out of it. With a great sigh and a slump of the shoulders Beau realized that indeed there was no one else that Wyldfyr would trust with something that was wrong with Kitt.

It had been an hour since Kitt had awoken from her nightmare, everyone save Artha and Beau had left in order to give them privacy. Though the two males would have greatly appreciated it if they had not. True that they were the closest to the two troubled girl/female dragon, but they also were the least experienced when it came to crying women and what to do when confronted by a situation that involved one.
So now they stood in the corner shifting slightly from time to time not knowing what to do watching as the uncontrolled sobs slowly became nothing more then hiccupping gasps for air and silent tears running down Kitt’s pale face. Wyldfyr gently unraveled herself from around the upset girl and using a low mag blast dragged Artha over to her dropping him down next to Kitt before walking over to Beau a knowing look to her eye.
Artha fidgeted for a moment before daring to speak. “Hey, I know this is kinda a stupid question but it’s a standard: Are you ok?” This did force a small but still there smile from her. She sniffed wiping at her eyes in attempt to achieve her normal Kitt motif, failing miserably. Cautiously Artha set a wary arm around her shoulders waiting to be hit or yelled at. With her eyes avoiding his she answered in a slight whimper.
“No.” fresh tears leaked from her eyes as grabbed onto his chest and sobbed, surprising both the dragon booster and the crying girl. Hesitance gone Artha hugged the racer careful of her arm and rubbed her back, though he hated seeing her in this state he could not deny that he was enjoying being the person that Kitt trusted when she needed a shoulder…er chest to cry on.
“You want to tell me about it?” he kept his voice even in attempt to reassure her of her safety. She hugged him tighter, yes she did want to tell him; she wanted to tell him everything. Who she was, what her destiny was planed as, what her life had been like before meeting him and his family, every secret that she kept begged to be told to him to trust only him and his family with the terrible truth that was her life…but could she? If she told him would the events in her dream come to pass? Could she really protect them if she let her barriers fall? And even if she did tell them and went to fulfill her destiny would they let her go? No, they would fight to keep her with them. It was who they where they would never allow her to be forced into something she wouldn’t want and ultimately they scene in her dream would be there reward for trying.
“Yes. I do but I won’t.” Her answer confused Artha beyond no end but he decided not to pursue that matter, instead he attempted to console the crying girl.

Wyldfyr watched the two with Beau. She was worried, in her current state Kitt was likely to tell Artha everything. And Wyldfyr knew as well as any that if Artha knew her tale he and the others would die trying to save her from what was going to be.
She felt the stare of the dragon king before she saw it, and she knew he had no idea.
‘It’s not polite to stare you know.’ Beau jumped slightly in surprise but answered with his usual calm deep voice.
‘You are worried. More so then should be required about this ‘nightmare’ that Kitt had.’ She had thought she hid her concern well, but then again this was Beau she could never hide anything from him. Turning away from the two humans she settled down on the ground knowing that he would want answers. He followed her lead and waited for her patiently.
‘He has made contact with her.’ She all but spit the word he out when she spoke, and Beau could not contain the growl that formed in his throat. He knew very well who ‘he’ was and he didn’t like the fact that ‘he’ was in contact with Kitt, especially with the vile reaction Kitt was having with it.
‘And it seems that Kitt might be forced to submit’ the black and gold dragon nearly roared in fury had Wyldfyr not continued. ‘She fears for your lives, he has shown her a possibility of the future if she refuses. You know that she and I as well I’m afraid are willing to be trapped by destiny if it means saving you all.’ She tried to choose her words carefully, she tried to keep her voice even and unremorseful, but he could see it in that one small glimpse of her eyes before she looked away. Everything that she attempted to keep between herself and Kitt, the wish to stay, the pain of having to leave, the hatred of destiny’s cruelty, everything she didn’t want him to know spilled like milk from a glass from that single look. With boldness the dragon never knew he acquired Beau moved over closer to her, wrapped his tail around her long one and set his head in the crook of her neck. Wyldfyr froze at the sudden move but soon relaxed at the comforting croon he soon started.
Near by two humans leaned against a wall both close to sleep, one though hindered by a cast clung tightly to the other tears no longer falling lulled to sleep by the gently thrum of the others heart beneath her head.
