Title: E Nomine - Drachengold Dbmv
Description: My first MV! Not too bad either

arthur - August 8, 2006 01:05 PM (GMT)
Since this is like Fan Art, I've decided to create a seperate topic. I'll also will want to hear your thoughts. Well, gotta see first, eh? ;)
da link!
The quality isn't so good but since I can't think of a way to upload avi files this is what we'll have to look at. If anyone knows a way how to upload avi files for d-load then speak up.
I made this with Windows Movie Maker on my PC. It took me about 3 to 4 hours. And I've realised that for every second of a normal MV you have to work for 1 minute :eep:
Since WMM is not that functionable there might be some places where it doesn't look good.
Post your comments.

Wow

The music in that well fits DB a lot too.

and very well syncronized

2 thumbs way up! :D

Thanks, I think of doing onother.
But I don't want to use the Movie Maker.Does any1 know a good video montage program that has effects similar to Movie Maker's.

dRagOniDe - August 8, 2006 07:34 PM (GMT)

Skyler - August 8, 2006 09:58 PM (GMT)
GREAT !!! :faint:

First I think it was a German dubbing from the Dragon Booster Intro Story in the first episode ;)
The Nibelungen Saga are a really well known Story in Germany, especially where i live.

Keep it up!

Penny Dreadful - August 8, 2006 11:31 PM (GMT)
3 -4 hours is nothing. Most of my videos took several days to create. Chromatic, particularly, took a few nights worth of effort...admittedly, much of this was just exporting and watching to get the timing down...laggy. Some people who make amvs put in months worth of effort  . I don't see why you uploaded this on photobucket, though.

Nice video. The clips that repeated themselves were rather annoying but the timing was good. The credits at the end were a bit fast too. You might want to pick a better codec too. I don't know if it was the upload or the codec that made it a little...pixely...

arthur - August 9, 2006 04:27 AM (GMT)
It's probably the upload. I knew that Youtube converts to .flv and thought that Photobucket will be different :(

LightningFlash - August 9, 2006 05:58 AM (GMT)
Nice. :D Great job on the timing, especially for a first try! I'm currently working on my third vid now, and I know what a pain timing can be. I'd thouroughly reccomend uplaoding this to youtube, you'll certainly get more hits on it there.

The music was good too, I'm not sure if it was in the credits or not, though, as they were so fast. Who's it by?

arthur - August 9, 2006 06:07 AM (GMT)
They're by E nomine, you see it in the first scene after "A Dragon Booster MV". I don't know why, but I ecided to make the credits fast and not to draw attention to those who don't want to see it. P.S.: the credits seem to be perfectly readable in the avi version.
Oh, I would've made another MV by now if it wasn't for slow and laggy fathers notebook with odd working codecs. <_< . Imagine, I click play to see how it looks and have to wait about 30 minutes for the decoding :faint: If the Movie Maker doesn't crash, that is!

LightningFlash - August 9, 2006 06:10 AM (GMT)
Yeah, I use Windows Movie Maker too. I always save after I've added a clip, or even got it the length I want, because the program crashes at least three times a day.

The Furox - August 9, 2006 06:54 AM (GMT)
Have I mentioned how simple and easy it is to use iMovie on a Mac? :D :D

Nice video, arthur! Definitely a good choice of music. Perhaps a touch too much repetition on some of the clips as Penny Dreadful said, but I don't want to sound like I'm criticizing since I did enjoy it.

I hope you decide to make more.

MinervaRahn - August 9, 2006 07:55 AM (GMT)
wow! I love the song you chose, fits in very well. As everyone says, the repeated clips got a bit of a nuisance but overall great job! I love to see more Dragon Booster videos from ya! good luck ;)

...Important anouncement...
I've made a db teaser. The link!
I wish I had a better program than movie maker to make this. I think I've reched the limits of this one. I also have a 25% project.
Please post your thoughts.

The Furox - August 30, 2006 04:14 PM (GMT)
That's a good a teaser video, arthur!

Using a piece of soundtrack from Matrix Reloaded was a great idea. It fits in so well with the DB images. Loved it!

I hope to see more of your videos!

arthur - August 30, 2006 04:23 PM (GMT)
I liked the reloaded teaser, I liked the Ghost In The Shell SAC reloaded teaser and I thought: why not do a Boostrix Reloaded teaser :D.
I'm also doing another MV 'bout Moordryd. I don't know how much time will I get to work on it but when I think I'm done I'll need a few beta viewers to test it so... who wants? I'm not 100% sure about the beta thing though, but...

I can take a look when you're ready if you want. Just send me a PM whenever.

I'm gearing up to make a video of my own. I'm using it as an excuse to learn how to use Final Cut, which is Apple's professional video and film editing application. It's a heck of an application. The manual is 1000 pages long and I'm presently around page 400 at the moment. :) Like Photoshop, it's a pretty cool tool once you get the hang of it. Not sure when my video might be ready, but I'm working on it!

arthur - August 31, 2006 04:01 AM (GMT)
Meh, you are locky with. MACs and Apples are an indagered species (if not instinct) in eastern Europe :(. Oh well...

We're using that in our media arts class (got all new mac computers for this year) so i'll have the joyful times of learning it too. I'm going to attempt a music video for DB, i've already made on before but it was for Pedal to the Metal and it featured my dads '69 New Yorker and a 'Top Banana' Daytona Charger. For the DB vid all I have is Windows Movie Maker which... well isn't the greatest but with my computer reformatted it might be fast enough. Or so i'm hoping.

Arthur your music vid there is za bomb! Nicely co-ordinated and it gives me an energetic feeling as I watch it, i'm looking forward to any others you release.

The good news is actually much easier than I thought. The first time you launch it, you get that feeling of dread as you're presented with a entire screen full of windows, palettes, tabs, toolbars and all sorts of funny looking icons. It's like: what the heck is all this stuff?? It was the same feeling I had the first time I fired up Photoshop. But after I got a little ways into the manual (which is very well written, by the way), it quickly started to make sense.

I'm up around page 500 of the manual right now (out of 1000 pages total). The good news is that a large portion of the manual is teaching you the six different ways to do everything, so there aren't that many unique concepts to learn. For every action in Final Cut, you can accomplish it with the mouse and menu bar at the top, or keyboard short cuts, or context menus, or by drag-and-drop, or ... It's just like Photoshop in that sense: you start with the mouse and menus, and then you learn the keyboard short cuts over time.

The best thing about Final Cut is that it's a totally non-destructive editor. The program never deletes your original footage and you can always go back and re-trim or re-edit any clip and pull back in footage you might have left out the first time around. They've made it very easy to go back and refine anything you did prior, which is really nice.

I mean what language was some of the speech in.

Oo-okay... I'm not done with my next MV but i've sent The Furox a beta version of it. Hopefully he will appreciate it and post his thoughts here or in a pm so I have encouragement to finish it sometime I have time .

The Furox - September 9, 2006 08:09 AM (GMT)
I thought what you've completed of it so far was good! It's not exactly my style of music, but I did like the way the images you chose worked with it. The fast cuts in certain sections and the way you kept the distinct vocal lines associated with specific characters worked very well. I hope you have time to complete it soon. :cookie:

I'm still in gear-up phase for my first video. I'm up to page 600 of the manual for Final Cut. It shouldn't take me too much longer to finish it since a fair sized chunk of the remainder has to do with audio editing which I won't need to do for a music video. So I'll just skim those chapters.

I've got a busy weekend though, so I'm not going to get much done for the next couple of days.

arthur - September 9, 2006 09:30 AM (GMT)
Heh, looks like we're both kind of slow :P.
*sigh* I wish my father's notebook wouldn't lag so much. I get free evenings on weekends (except sunday) but I'm away then and I can't bring my pc with me (which is fast) meaning I have to stick to lagginess :(
Although I found some program at my friend's and am doing another mv, hope it eats less ram
Thanks for the review, Furox. I can't wait for your mv ;)
---Edit--- ^_^
This is what I've got after playing around with that program. Post your thoughts.

Well, how do you like it?

Penny Dreadful - September 12, 2006 08:02 PM (GMT)
Dimmu Borgir? I definitely hadn't heard them in a while ^-^;;. I do enjoy my symphonic metal, though. I'm a bit iffy about your other videos, but I quite enjoyed this one, and not just because of all the Moordryd-centricness (though it helped). The upload was smooth. The quality was a bit poor, but the timing seemed to transfer very well. At a few points I noticed it was just a smidge off, but certainly not by more than a hair.

Dragons on skis is always fun in my book!

And I like the Wazzup video, too. :) The dragons saying "wazzup" seemed particularly funny. :D

Good stuff. :cookie:

AMG, yay! Another vid! ^_^ ^_^ This time it's my favorite - System Of A Down!!!!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4FD9sEOvgZQ
What can I say, I just want to sing along watching the vid from 3:00. And I love how the end turned out.
Happy rocking :D

Armeggadon - October 15, 2006 05:45 PM (GMT)
Sweet, I like System of a Down too. This vid was tight. You should really make one with the song When Angels Deserve to Die.

arthur - October 15, 2006 06:52 PM (GMT)
That song is called Chop Suey!
It's one of my favourite songs and I know almost all of it by heart :)
Maybe I'll get motivated to do a mv someday

Armeggadon - October 15, 2006 08:15 PM (GMT)
So they did change the name. I didn't bother to get updated. Well, know i know.
