Perhaps you should take the time to read the article. Interesting stuff though.

Full story:

1. Pickled dragon is revealed to the public. There is mass frenzy.
2. The dragon turns out to be a very elaborate hoax, made out of rubber.

Still, I'm saying that dragons roamed (and still do) the earth.

If dragons are actually roaming the Earth, then they must be the most incredibly shy creatures on the planet for them to have kept themselves hidden for so long. :)

If they are here, we'll just have to hope they decide to come out and say "hi" sometime. :cookie:

Well, this is gonna be a long one...
I also believe that dragons exist. Where do you think they popped out from in eastern mythology? Defenetly not from air. And they didn't fall down from the sky too. There's always a reason for things to appear in culture and, personally, I don't know a single thing of culture that has no base.
Now for the sciency stuff ^_^. It's most likely for dragon to appear in mythology for one reason - dinosaurs. Their skeletons weren't so deep under the ground as they are today. So imagine yourself walking through the endless barren-like lands and coming across a skeleton of a huge lizard thing. No doubt you will think "OMG, these things must live somewhere nearby. OMG! There are more of them! Runaway!!!" :D .
And now for my theory ^_^. Supposingly some 1-2 thousand years ago dragons did exist. But due to unexplainable drain of magical energy of the world they have disappeared. (European dragons are bound to magic.) Also I think that dragon respected human and evaded him. And due to expance of humans across the world, they either fleen from the world (somehow) (p.s.: I've read an article on wikipedia on some fantasy book where dragons and humans exist in peace bla bla bla... and dragons can enter the between and if they have an image of a place in their head they can teleport. Otherwise entering the between is a suicide, which is commited by dragons if their rider dies, for between is somewhat like space - no air, cold, dark.).
Another my theory states that dragon exist in another planet of the galaxy. Also I suspect that mass imaginitive activity of humans create new worlds independent from the time and space continuum of Earth or our dimension.
*sleepy* ok I'm a little too sleepy too write an essay... maybe I'll think of something more tomorrow.

I don't believe dragons exist in the same physical sense as, say, our current bodies. I do believe that dragons exist astrally. There are all sorts of astral critters out there and many have a tendency to make an appearance every now and then, a bit like ghosts. I firmly believe that this is where SOME legends came from. In my experience, sightings come down to energy and the vibrations someone is open to. It also helps if one is able to astrally project. I work a lot with meditation/trance meditation. Sometimes it works, sometimes my mind wanders, or sometimes I just fall asleep. Either way, it's fun stuff. :D .

Lookit, 100 posts.

I would if we could narrow down where to look. :D The world is a big place. ;)

And if there do happen to be any dragons wandering about, let it be known that the welcome mat is always out at my house. :D

i believe that dragons did exist
my mom told me a story of a dragon that lived in poland
i even went to go and see the statue of it in grade one (during tourist season it even breathes fire, very drac), i have a miny statue of it sitting on my computer, 6 arms, 2 legs, 2 small wings, 1 long snout, staring at it every day, priceless
and my dad told me that in the Bible it says that God had a pet dragon on earth and no one was aloud to touch
personely i believe those two stories, the second one more though :P

I think I have an idea where to look. Heh heh :P. I remember that my grandma read an article from the news a few years ago. (Or was it a tv-show?) *doh* anyway, it said about underground caves that lay quite deep and far away from humans somewhere in north america. One or two were discovered in about the end 19th century. People found that those caves were like isolated worlds with big lakes that carved them from rock. (Hey! Guly(sp?) Vern's Journy to the center of the earth! :D Hmm...) If I remember correctly, strange lifeforms were found there. But the government banned people from entering those caves and made them top secret or smth like it.
Maybe that's where the dragons are hiding :)
I've got my showel! :D dig a hole, dig a hole, dig a hole... *starts digging ground*
