Okay, I got home late from work. Thought I might be able to catch the end of Dragon Booster (the episodes I catch come on in the middle of the night where I live) but there was a police checkpoint near my house and...::sigh::...I needed my fix and to unwind so I broke out the sketch-pad and doodled away. I'd never tried to draw any DB characters before, so I decided to try my hand at it. It certainly isn't my best work and I didn't bother to clean it up or color it because...well...it's a sketch. I didn't have much reference, so I drew everyone in my own style. Yeah, I took serious artistic license with Cain. I had no reference for him at all and realized halfway through that something had gone seriously wrong...but I was far too lazy to erase his head and start over...



I don't think this is going to quite make it to my devart page -.-, but I figured I'd post it here before I just lose it. I've certainly lost MUCH better drawings before. Looking at it now...it scanned a little blurry...o.O. Didn't pick up some of my shading either. Maybe I should have inked it or go back and clean it up a little, when I have the free time.

Aww, they're good! I gotta give you credit seeing as I am just developing any form of an ability to draw humans... I think Moordryd looks best, though his nose is a little... rounder? than usual.

It almost looks like Word has done something wrong and is embarassed... The shading of his face looks like he's blushing :D Not picking on you, Word is a silly duck anyway ^_^

Lol, like I said, the scanner was a little weird to my shading, especially when I scaled the picture down. I thought the same thing about Word when I looked back at it this morning ^-^;;. There are probably a lot of mistakes accuracy-wise. If I ever try again, I'll find something to look at. I'm better with semi-realistic art....there was just no way I was going to draw a unibrow realistically...>.>;;. I also never realized Moordryd had something of a faux...quasi...mullet sort of thing going on until I started drawing his hair.

LOL, took me awhile to clue in on the hair too :P I was going to comment earlier but it was almost four in the morning and I was tired. Anyway your sketches are great, looking forward to seeing more of your art!

Yeah, I always have trouble with faces because I draw too small XD It's annoying because I'll get the body just the way I like it and then I can't even begin to get a face in....

Hehe, yeah.... I've thought about doing a DB comic, you know, the way the show should have been (i.e. nix on the group laugh) and one of the changes on the top of my list was fix Moordryd's mullet.

Hehe, maybe I'll draw Moordryd without the mullet and the unibrow of doom. Oooh, that does give me an idea. Maybe I'll work on it after work tonight. :( I don't want to go to work! I'm gonna miss DB again and it's an episode I haven't seen. I wish I had something I could record it with.

i love your sketches. i stink at drawing people, that's way i draw dragons because i don't stink at drawing them (i think)

I like them. Cain looks a lot better than I'd ever be able to draw him.... and I have a fairly high opinion of my ability to draw people. I like the look on Word's face, too.
