Hey all!
This is MinervaRahn, thought I would do a topic about Comic-con and see if anyone heard about it/or has been to one of those? If you have, good for ya! or you haven't WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN?! :D

Comic-con is THE biggest comic convention ever held in San Diego. I recently discovered this four years ago and ever since, my sister and I have been attending there every year. Its fabulous! very famous actors and actresses go there to promote upcoming movies! of course comic artists/creators are there as well! (wouldn't be a comic convention without comics ya know hahaha) well to be honest, its just not about comics! they have movies, anime, games, books, art! that's why its so huge!!

If anyone is interested, please go to this website http://www.comic-con.org their website has all the information you need to know and a schedule of events that will be happening. Its starts July 20 through the 23 (its a four day event)

After my trip, I'll post some pictures I took at the comic-con! Let me guys know if you are going or not ;)

Ciao :poof:

I've never been to Comic-con but I hear they're huge conventions. I think I would have fun there, but I don't know if I can make this one. I was just at the Gargoyles fan convention, and I'm also going to a Disney fan convention run by National Fantasy Fan Club which is the largest Disney fan club in the country. It's so large, they even have local chapters around the country. I belong to the Golden Gate Disneyana Club myself which covers fans in the San Francisco Bay Area. The NFFC convention is in Anaheim the weekend before Comic-con, and I don't know if I can swing two conventions that close together. It gets to be a lot of time off from work, which is difficult to do. Though I wouldn't mind going to San Diego at all. That's one of the nicest cities to visit.

It's too bad all these conventions happen at the same time. If I go at all, I'd only be able to be there for Saturday and Sunday (have to minimize time off from work). Do you think it's still worth going if I were to miss the first two days?

That looks like it was a fun convention. I've been to a couple of big Disney fan conventions, but I've never been to a big commercial pop culture/fan convention like this. The ones I usually go to are the small ones that are organized and run by fans (you know, really low budget :)). It's impressive to see how much money the companies spend on their booths and displays. That looks like it would be a lot of fun to go to.

Was there any breaking news of upcoming movies or shows that caught your interest?

Thanks for sharing the photos! I'm going to have to try and make it to one of these sometime, especially since it's in San Diego. It's such a nice city and I haven't been there in awhile either.

Like I said Furox, its the biggest convention in the Cali :D you could literally be walking for hours and hours, and you wouldn't even make it to the end till tomorrow hahaha XD its a very exciting event, and its a great place to meet people too! a few of my friends from an art community online called "Sheezyart" were there ;) that was alot of fun. If ya want to spend the moola on this event, I suggest you pre-register now and not wait.

I don't know what I'm gonna do next year. My older sis and I are discussing about the recent changes they did, like it would normally be around the week before the last of the month but next year its being held July 26 through the 29..and that's when our family reunion in Pismo starts. I don't know! maybe we will go, my mom wants us to go so we'll have to see!

ANYWAY! enough babbling, here to talk about the Comic-con. Oh yea Furox! there were so many promotions that I can not wait to see! like Eragon! ever heard of that? its actually a book by Christopher Paolini. I've never been so intranced by a book before! Its like Harry Potter..only with dragons! :D but also! 20th Century Fox was there to give us a sneak peek trailer for the movie of Eragon, all I can say is SQUEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!! it looks incrediable good. Funny because this actor that is going to be playing as Eragon, is brand spankin new ;) after thousands of actors thrown away, he sorta pops in and they said, "There's our Eragon." Super cute :P :P

So that and other miscellaneous events, passed by the DS booth, the pokemon and yu-gi-oh booths seeing the kids playing cards, uhhh some webcomic artists booth I've read online, saw some more movie previews and that's it! wish I could say more but I could tell ya..EVERYONE was there..oh yea XD

defintely think about attending, it would be worth your while ;)
