Title: ēget Ed... Get Out!!!
Description: HELP TO DB FANS IN LATIN AMERICA!!!!!

Airshadow - July 4, 2006 12:55 AM (GMT)
I have a bad new to DB fans in latin america, dragon booster has been moved from its usual schedule at 8.00 pm. Instead Get ed are there.

Now dragon booster would be aired at 00.00, 3.00 ama nd 10.00 am Mexico time, bad hours, my opinion.

I strongly ask to other DB's fans to join and ask Jetix set DB in other proper hour, in evening.

What do you said??

I won't miss any chapther of this serie and niether the promised new ones.

Will you help us?

Nayade - July 4, 2006 03:53 AM (GMT)
That happened to me too, I was waiting for DB and they showed get ed. That was awful.
Maybe in LA, DB doesn't have enough rating, and that was why they change it. I hope here in Chile they also show DB three schedules.

I support you. But we will need a lot of people from LA to make jetix change the schedule.

I was thinking some days ago, that maybe to get more DB fans from LA, we need a forum of DB in Spanish, not here, I mean, a complete DB forum in Spanish. Maybe I could start one, but I will need some help.

Get Ed may have good graphics but Dragon Booster is way better. I support you all the way Airshadow! Why do they do this? *sigh*

Airshadow - July 6, 2006 03:22 AM (GMT)
Ratings :_(?

IbanezJFS - July 6, 2006 04:05 AM (GMT)
Although I dont live in Latin America. I will say this...GET ED SUX!!! BIG TIME. I mean come on folks...Its about some kid who has some super DNA (I think) who works for a delivery Service....That doesnt even sound that appealing in the first place. How the hell can that be getting better ratings???

The Furox - July 6, 2006 08:05 AM (GMT)
"Get Ed" doesn't work for me either. I just can't get very interested in package delivery no matter how many chase scenes they throw in.

"Get Ed" is produced by Jetix Animation Concepts, which of course is owned by Disney (as is Jetix itself). So Disney is definitely going to push their own shows ahead of others.

And even though the show has no appeal for me, there's no denying that it's popular. Perhaps it's the fact that there's a lot less going on and the fact that there's little, if any, continuity between episodes makes it easier for the kids to follow. Perhaps it's the fact that episode are so much cheaper and easier to crank out that they don't have to air so many re-runs and instead are airing new episodes on a regular basis which generates more interest. Perhaps it's the fact that Disney/Jetix is spending more time and effort to promote their own shows to build up the audience. Whatever the show has got, it's working.

It's discouraging for sure.

I've heard the comment elsewhere that Get Ed has better "graphics" than DB, but I don't think this alone fairly characterizes the situation.

The main difference between the look of the animation between Get Ed and DB is that they're using fairly typical (though very simple by today's standards) 3D shading on the characters in Get Ed. This gives the characters a rounded look with more apparent depth. For DB, they're using cel shading which intentionally flattens the look of the characters to create a visual style. Nerd Corps does their animation and rendering with a software product called SoftImage. SoftImage is one of the two leading off the shelf animation packages (Maya is the other), and it's perfectly capable doing very detailed 3D shading even beyond that seen in Get Ed. They simply chose not to use it to create their own style to set them apart from the 3D animation that everyone else is doing these days.

There's a lot more to the quality 3D animation beyond just the shading. The actual animation of the characters itself, as well as the 3D sets, the special effects and cinematography in DB goes far beyond anything in Get Ed. What Nerd Corps does is so much more creative and therefore time consuming than what's done on Get Ed. That's why Jetix can crank out so many episodes of Get Ed in little time (that plus the fact that the scripts are so simplistic there's no effort in writing for the show either).

Once you look beyond the shading, the animation in DB is actually superior to anything in Get Ed.

All I know is this.
Get Ed-Package delivery with Chase scenes

Dragon Booster-Fast pased speed racing on Dragons while trying to save the world....hhmm wich ones sounds more appealing???

I also read this in a DB review. Some guy is out to take over the world...How origianl...Well what the hell, do you want instead??? To take over his neiborhood??? Lets face facts the motivation to alot of villians is either to. Take over the world or to gain a bunch of money. So im not sure who wrote that review but, this guy isnt worth take seriousely.

Okay, I am just now caught up in what you all said. If I understand it all might be a different story. But I support DB and any help, or anything I can do. I will do. I think its cool having a forum in spainish. Oh and I watch Get Ed sometimes, just to see the competition.(please don't hurt me). It is okay but has nothing compared to DB. I mean think about it. DB names are from history and Get ED isn't. It has dragons, something that is spoken of once,( I think) in the bible. DB, I think, Has way better backgrounds. It also has a better story plot. It is easy to follow and answers ( for the most part) are there. Get ED, is an alien^^. He knows nothing and is new to the world and yet has this mysterious background and has gizmos that only he can use. HE IS JUST NOT NORMAL!!!!!!!!!!.Besides Get ED people don't even wear shoes.HA!

Artha Penn, I can relate to. Not the DB. Just Artha. I have a little sister who looks just like Lance it is scary(she is also the same age as him and just as annoying). I am sixteen just like Artha. I have the responsibilties of taking care of my younger sister and know how it feels of being responsible when parents aren't always around. I can also relate with how Mortis(connor) is trying to open up Artha and show him how he something more. Something different then what he thought he was. I know how hard it is to be something to impress your father. I deal with that. Now with the whole "saving the world" pressure. I can only imagine.

I'm new, and I am just clicking on random links that I think would interest me or could help the show. I must say, get Ed has a sucky plot and purpose. I mean, random evil guy wants kids delivering packages dead. It just doesn't make sense to me!! <_< My gosh!!!! Get Ed doesn't have NOTHIN' on Dragon Booster!! Seriously!!!!!!!!!! NOTHING! <_< Get Ed certainly doesn't deserve to take Dragon Booster's place either!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Heck no to that!!!!!!!!!! I will do anything I can to help the show, so please write back and tell me if anything comes up....... :D

koering - December 14, 2006 01:51 AM (GMT)
Get Ed suks!!! Dragon booster will rain forever!! Muhahaha!!No seroiusly though I have seen get ed once before but i didn't like it.

The Furox - December 16, 2006 07:31 AM (GMT)
I watched a number of episodes to give it a chance, but the show just doesn't work for me. Sometimes things grow on me over time, like Propheci for instance. When I first watched "Track of Doom" I thought his megalomania and over the top voice acting was grating. But after a few repeat viewings, I started to like him. But "Get Ed" just leaves me flat. I just can't bring myself to care about what's going on, which leaves me with no reason to watch.

I loved Propheci from the Begining!!
He's SO cool!!!
I loved his voice, his attitude, his whole out look!!
He's Drac!!!

koering - December 17, 2006 06:06 PM (GMT)
Actually the first episod i saw was the lost track of doom. so i think that is pretty cool. I can't get into the feeling of get ed. in my opinion it is one of the stupidest shows i have ever seen. Who agrees?

Salazaar - December 17, 2006 06:17 PM (GMT)
ME!!!

(Although I don't like power rangers, dragon ball z, and any more of those japeneese animated shows..........they just don't do anything for me....I like Pokemon though.....)

koering - December 17, 2006 10:16 PM (GMT)
I like the pokemon gameboy games but the show doesn't do any good for me.

Salazaar - December 17, 2006 10:18 PM (GMT)
Love the Games too!!!!!
The show I watch if nothing else is on....

Definitely. Once I got used to the voice acting, I started to really like him. He's got a great look, too. Orange with red, blue and pink highlights. Wow! What a color scheme! :D

I'm guessing the character designer choose those colors so he'd look like those brightly colored poison arrow frogs in Central and South America. Their bright colors are a warning that they're deadly.

And I love all the detail in his facial expressions. At times I think he has more expression than Beau, and certainly way more than most of the human characters. I like the intensity in his eyes, too. It really shows his intelligence. Most dragons just blankly stare off into space like cows, but not Propheci.

Yeah, those particular shows don't work for me either. Try Inuyasha, Full Metal Alchemist or Ghost in the Shell sometime. They're much different from things like Power Rangers and Dragon Ball, and much better.

koering - December 17, 2006 10:54 PM (GMT)
yeah i think that they should show more episodes with profeci in it. I think it is cool how at the end of every episode they do a close up of profeci's face. (the episodes with profeci in it) makes it a bit more dramatic i guess. i think that if they have a few dragons that show some emotions it is cool but i think they should have more. :D

Salazaar - December 18, 2006 12:03 AM (GMT)
I wanna see a dramatic eppisode centering around Beau/Wyldfyr where we see more of Beau's and Wyldfyr's personality and how they react with out their riders present...

koering - December 18, 2006 12:09 AM (GMT)
oooooooo nice idea

Salazaar - December 18, 2006 12:15 AM (GMT)

I might be able to include something like that in my fan-fic...
